Hard to hear dialogue.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's fast and smooth, but the biggest downside is the dialogue is hard to hear and when you turn it up to hear It, it'll make the sound affects extremely loud. I have to have my Soundsystem at 55% volume to hear the dialogue while everything else I have is at 30-35% volume and I can hear it just fine and now extreme sound effects either.

Great iPhone integration, support for 2+ devices

The Roku had a better remote, but playing recordings were frustrating if commercials were present. it was hit or miss if the Roku would let me fast-forward through commercials. The Apply TV always lets me fast through commercials. Being able to use your iPhone as an alternative input device was a welcome surprise. Much easier to type usernames, emails and passwords with a phone instead of the TV remote.

Not worth upgrading

4K UHD >>> Streaming

However, this is a review of what it actually does (i.e. the functionality of reproducing media content, namely 4k content). Comparing to 4k UHD the quality coming from this while accessing movies via the AppleTV app is just downright terrible. Crushed blacks, reduced sharpness and color reproduction and anemic Dolby Atmos. If you have a high end television and have not at least tried UHD, you are doing yourself a disservice. Having come from the other way -- UHD only for years -- and now trying streaming via what is allegedly one of the better streamers out there, I was completely underwhelmed and plan on returning this device.
