I bought this Apple TV on a friend’s recommendation and because I own an IPhone and find it’s interface easy to use. For at least the last 5 years I have streamed using either my Roku or my TiVo. I have the TiVo as I primarily watch OTA programs. I recently bought a new tv with google tv as it’s smart tv platform. The TiVo noticeably loads and responds the slowest of these streaming devices. I have had the TiVo for the longest of the devices so probably strongly out of familiarity the interface is the easiest for me. The Roku I have owned nearly as long as the TiVo. I used it as my primary streaming device until recently purchasing the new tv and appletv. The Roku interface is my preference of all 4 devices and I found it’s remote simple and the the easiest learn. The google tv is my new tv’s operating system interface. I have only had this tv for about 2 weeks longer than the appletv. The google tv responds very quickly compared to the TiVo and Roku but the appletv seems to respond even much more quickly than the google tv. I haven’t used the google interface much as I still primarily watch ota using the TiVo. So I have not used the google tv interface and remote enough to have any opinion of use. The appletv seems to process so much faster than the other devices I have mentioned. When loading any of my streaming services they nearly instantly appear. I still haven’t owned this very long and as I said don’t stream alot. My impression so far of the interface is it is apple and having owned only iPhones very familiar and easy to navigate. The remote is simple physically a similar simple minimalist buttons as the Roku remote. I am experiencing a slow learning curve mastering the main combination cursor and/or mouse button. It’s used as the primary navigation for the interface and as the forward,reverse,pause,play and etc. for streaming. It takes some finesse to not get unintended responses. I haven’t spent more than 20 hours streaming and spent a couple hours playing and exploring. When streaming one feature the appletv does l know my Roku or TiVo won’t do is skip back or forward by 10 seconds like a dvr. The other major preference I am having is owning an iPhone gives options to share apps.music,etc. Overall the appletv 4K will be my go to streaming device. At this point as I haven’t owned it for long this is based on it’s impressive processing speed. As I don’t stream that much I don’t believe l needed this in any way but I so far it’s my preference and each time I use it I am finding that large button does something I hadn’t learned it could do.

Best streaming player by a mile. Expensive but worth it. New remote is premium and much improved.

The ultimate way to watch content on your tv. Can the new remote control is very easy to use. Whatever apps you have on you iPhone can password share with ease to the Apple TV. Hulu Live is a great way to watch television but since everyone has an app now, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Upgrade from the previous 4K model, mostly for the new remote for my mother since she has trouble with the track pad, and i just kept the "old" remote and kept the newer Apple TV. It's definitely a lot smoother and zippier than before but nothing you can't live without. I got it because it was on sale and the standalone remote is pricey itself so might as well get the whole apple TV.

I thought this would be better than the built ins on my smart TV. Faster . Better apps and updates and a remote with an incredible long life battery built in .A small thing is that the remote is freezing in the colder weather but really well built

Superfast UI and really high-quality remote. My TV's android UI is slow and sluggish so adding this made it so much better to use. The remote charges with a lightning cable and since there's always one around its very convenient. Also AirPlay is a really nice feature when you just wanna beam something from your phone and couldn't before. Handy little device!

More of the same dependability. Wifi seems a little better than the previous HD generation. The new remote is much better. If the circle was a jog wheel it would be perfect. ;-D I hadn't upgraded Apple TV generations before. The process was smooth with my iPhone. Only had to login to a few services and it was like I had never left my older one.
