Just wave your iPhone or iPad near the unit and all your basic configurations are transferred! The new remote is miles better than the original chewing gum stick it replaced for us. You can also speak to the remote via SIRI to avoid keying in search criteria. This new generation is a faster and smoother running device. Much less wait time to load pages.

Excellent product - It just works. I have tried many streaming devices: Fire stick, Chromecast, etc., etc. - None of them compare to the simple, fluid, responsive UI that the AppleTV provides. The remote is also rechargeable which is another HUGE plus. Most apps allow you to sign in automatically by just using your phone on the same WIFI. EASY Setup, Great Picture Quality, Reliably works as you would expect. Period.

I like Apple TV and went with this one because of the 2.1 HDMI in vs the 2.0 on the Roku ultra. In my opinion, the Roku is easier to use and quicker when switching to different apps. The Apple TV has a more premium feel to it and better looking interface. I like how the Apple TV incorporates recent shows/movies on the Home Screen so you can jump right in. A little disappointed that it seems laggy when hard wired and the Roku Ultra is in wifi. The main reason why I chose to keep this over the Roku on my OLED is the picture quality. I am not sure why, but the Apple TV was able to produce a better, cleaner, crisper and more detailed picture. This is with all the same settings.

This little thing is truly a beaut! Streaming 4k on my OLED with this bad boy is jaw dropping. Uploads are great if you have great internet connection of course and its hids nicely without taking up space. VERY EASY TO USE.

Upgrading from the Apple TV 4K (1st Gen) to this item, which is the 2nd Gen revision. Visibly there is very little difference in the actual device compared to the 1st Gen 4K but there have been significant changes to the internals: Chip has been upgraded from the Apple A10X Fusion to the A12 Bionic Processor. Other changes include support for high frame rate HDR, HDMI 2.1, and Wi-Fi 6. Its HDMI port supports ARC and eARC (you may need to upgrade your HDMI cables to be able to utilize this functionality). The more noticeable change is the upgraded remote, which no longer has the slim, predominantly glass profile. The remote is beefier and designed with the anodized aluminum housing. It's easier to handle and more robust. The circular touchpad and navigation buttons makes browsing and scrolling much easier as it retains the touch-sensitive capabilities but also physical buttons. Note: this remote can be purchased separately. My recommendation would be to definitely upgrade from the Apple TV HD (or previous versions to this device, the 4K (2nd Gen). However, going from 4K (1st Gen) to this doesn't *feel* like a huge leap unless you utilize the capabilities listed above.

Great Apple product. Superior picture and sound. The apps are easy to use and add to your collection. Really glad I purchased this product for my home theater systems. Purchased 3 of the new Apple 4K TV systems. Previously had the Roku 4K systems and they were great as well. However the Apple 4K TV has a much better picture and sound.

Honestly, I haven't noticed a lot of differences between the new Apple TV and the one it replaced, which is nearly six years old. That said, the new remote is better and I am glad I have the extra storage for more apps. In my opinion, this is the best streaming device on the market if you have Apple products in your home. No complaints.

I purchased the 1st Apple TV a few years ago. Hated the whole thing because of the remote. Too small and fairly useless. Jump ahead To the newest Apple TV. Completely different experience really enjoy using the new Remote And the picture quality is enhanced across the board from Netflix, Vudu & Amazon prime video. Well done!

Excellent media streamer. Very simple to setup and connect to internet. WiFi works great. Picture quality streaming through this device is amazing and makes a believer out of you for something this small. If you own an iPhone or other Apple products, this device will connect with other devices seamlessly.

Gotta love Apple products. This Apple TV 2nd gen is no exception. The remote is simple but effective. The setup is easy and configured with my other electronics with no problem. This is my first step in cutting the cable. Plus love the screen mirroring function with my iphone and iPad. Oh yea, getting it on sale was a BONUS!

I originally bought this to replace my Apple TV 4 for my living room but ended up putting it in my bedroom. Long story short, with the newer faster updated Apple Tv and brand new Siri remote, its all you need to stream content and even cut the cord if that is what you are aiming for. I would personally highly recommend it!

This was my first AppleTV and I'm glad I held out because it's clearly the best version, and finally good enough for gaming. It starts instantly and lets me jump right into the streaming platform I want, so it's way faster than any game console I've used for this purpose. Filling out passwords using your iPhone and finding shows or movies by voice search is super-convenient.

I absolutely love my Apple TV!! I have an older version, so the upgrades to the remote on this one were a pleasant surprise. Apple makes it seamless in getting started. My favorite feature is being able to listen to my music in multiple rooms!!!

The fifth generation AppleTV 4K is the most complete streaming device that Apple has produced. The remote control is redesigned and is major improvement over the previous remotes. The interface is familiar so navigation is a breeze. The 4K output, HDR, and Dolby ATMOS support really completes this streaming device. Overall, I would rate this product as 95/100.

You can now access all of your streaming channels directly through Apple 4K TV. The set up is simple and allows you to download apps for all of your favorite channels including the major networks and movie channels. You can also use your Apple phone as a remote control which makes it even easier to use. I highly recommend the Apple 4K TV

I love this device, I use it pretty much every day, the picture quality when displayed on my 8k tv is superior to my direct streaming through my smart tv, the audio when playing Youtube music videos is incredible compared to what I was streaming through my smart tv. The remote control is really smooth and easy to use. A purchase I’m really happy I made.

Super fast, amazing picture quality and well thought out. Even tried out the new color balance feature on a non-Dolby Vision TV just to see how well it worked and its very impressive. No complaints. Have started upgrading all of our prior Gen versions and even adding to our Roku TVs.

I replaced a Apple HD TV unit with this new one. The new TV is a 4K so I wanted a 4K Apple TV. I know the TV has streaming service on it and I do use it some. The TV has advertisements on it and Apple does not. Plus Apple runs better and faster. Apps load quicker and I like the way Apple works.

As funny as it sounds, there have been several reviews on how much better this model is because of the new remote, and it is the truth. It creates a much better experience. Outside of that, I haven't noticed much difference between this and my older model but it was still worth the upgrade.
