I bought this Apple TV to replace a Gen 2 device that had worked solidly for many years. The only reason for replacing it was the fact that many of the channels we watched on it were not supporting the older Apple TVs, which is really too bad, ours has been a flawless performer, and easy to use. The new Apple TV 4K is almost as easy to use, but I took a star off for price, its almost double the price of the older versions and functionality is not all that different. For the extra money, I would have expected chrome side pipes and custom paint. Getting all of our apps downloaded and set up on this device took much longer than expected. I find it bothersome that I have to go to a web page, get a some special code, and then match that to my device. Some apps were hard to find in the app store. Also, many of the new apps available require a paid subscription. Had I known that, I would not have downloaded them. Getting them off of the unit has eluded me for now, but I attribute that to lack of pilot training. Overall, it has been worth the hassles, and is something we can grow into when we decided to go 4K.

I love my Apple tv 4k. I watch it almost every day, it has great sound and picture quality, navigation between your apps, movies, music and other content is very smooth and simple. my only complaint is the remote forward and reverse swipe is a little too sensitive for me. I recommend getting the newest remote that has the click toggle that apple sells. I think the newer models comes with the new remote. In all the apple tv might seem a little expensive but you will be very happy with it for all your streaming.

Excellent features easy setup Amazing Picture!!!!!

As is typical for Apple products, it's a bit pricey compared to competing products, but I do like the interface and how seamless the integration is with my other Apple products (iPhones & MacBooks). Haven't used the 4k HDR yet, so can't comment on that, but I wanted it for near future use since I have a 4k HDR TV.

I really like the new Apple TV. It is faster and the remote is sleeker than the earlier models. However, there is a bit of a learning curve for folks that are new to Apple TV. The touchpad on the remote can be touchy with some apps. But, as usual, it is a quality product and I like it very much.

Love it! We were using our Wii for Netflix and Amazon Prime watching. But Wii is dropping this capability on our old system. So we bought Apple TV for streaming. Faster, sleeker, etc than Wii. I enjoy the remote, which is a neat interface. Menus are very easy to work. The only slight disappointment is that we can't download the Spotify app on Apple TV.

Apple TV 4K Fantastic Much better setup then 1080 Model, Better platform and the 4K unbelievably clear easy to use for most Apple users .

We have three TV's in the house and all have an Apple TV, a TV today is just not complete without Apple TV. You cannot beat the value for money with incredible 4K content. Apple is also updating the software frequently, almost as often as the iPhone receives an update, and there are lots of great apps on the App Store for Apple TV also, from Netflix and Amazon Video to the CBS app and apps for many different channels. You can also stream directly from your iPhone or iPad directly to Apple TV. Good tip if you have more than one Apple TV is to name them so you're streaming to Downstairs Apple TV, Upstairs Apple TV or Bonus Room Apple TV etc.

I exchanged the shield pro for this item. The shield was great, but getting Dolby vision/atmos to work for all the apps is a pain. It varies from app to app as to what wants to work. Also, as of the time I had the shield, you could only have one YouTube account logged in at a time. This was unpleasant for my girlfriend and myself. The Apple TV just works. I wasn’t getting Dolby atmos/vision through my receiver, but it was just an incompatible hdmi cable. The only gripe that I have is that while the remote is okay with the touchpad, it makes typing cumbersome. You can use your phone with the remote app, but that gets annoying quickly. It is smart enough to control my receiver volume though, which I like. I’ll take the clunky remote issue as long as I get my video and audio quality.

I traded in my PS4 for an Apple TV and am not looking back! I am an Apple enthusiast, so I had to make my collection complete with the addition of the Apple TV. I enjoy the fact that I can listen to my Apple Music, watch movies, play games, and use it for mirroring. Probably the part I like the most is that it can connect to bluetooth headphones, so I don't bother my roommates when I have an action movie playing.

I have been using many other streaming devices (Roku, Chromecast, FireTV, Fire Cube) - but the Apple TV makes everything look the best on a 4K tv. The remote is easy to use (but is sometimes a little too sensitive). I'm not an Apple fan (banned the family from iPhone because I hated dealing with them) - but this device brought me back to the Apple ecosystem. Using MoviesAnywhere, I sync my purchases with iTunes and get to watch everything in up-scaled 4K HDR. Worth the price to me!

Setting up Apple TV 4K is hassle free and fun to use, especially using it within Apple's ecosystem with your iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac, etc. Gorgeous OS and smooth feeling interface. Love how easily integrated the apps are, makes my tv or streaming experience that much more enjoyable.

This is our first Apple TV unit and we only bought it because we were looking to buy a 4K Blu-ray player. After some conversation with a sales rep, we decided to go with this instead. We have iPhones and iPads so we’re already familiar with the iTunes platform and we have purchased movies on iTunes before. We’ve enjoyed the prices of buying from iTunes and having access to new releases early. My only feedback is that the remote is very sensitive and takes some getting used to. I’ve inadvertantly paused, rewound, and just closed out of movies because of the touch pad at the top. Aside from that, we are pleased with the product!

I tried Chromecast (fhd and 4K) - returned it cuz I didnt like the fact that always need to control with smart phone/computer etc. i tried Amazon Firestick (fhd and 4k) - overall not bad and i liked Kodi. Went back to Apple TV (i used to have the 3rd gen). Apple TV never disappoints!!

This product is really really good when it comes to streaming all my content in one area. I really like that I can cast anything that is either on my MacBook Pro or iPhone XS to the television screen and when I uncast it, it picks up wherever I left off. If you are laying in bed I would not recommend keeping the remote too close to you before sleeping because the touch pad may mess up and skip the content you are watching, but other then that I absolutely love the touch pad. Good job apple, keep up the excellent support for making all your products streamline and communicate with each other.

I owned an old version Apple TV, second generation. These are day and night. Anyone who has an old version must upgrade to this New Apple TV.

I had Roku and Tivo prior to Apple. This Apple TV 4K was, by far, the easiest to set up and most complete of the three devices I've tried over the years. There are three things I would like Apple to do with the remote: make it in white (easier to see), make it backlight 'on rise' (easier to see buttons), and give the touch pad more speed settings (slower). I have emailed Apple about these three suggestions. BUT, these three improvement suggestions aside, overall this is the best system I have had!

The biggest advantage to Apple TV is the Apple integration with other devices. Screensharing is perfect. You can start looking at photos, videos, movies on your iPhone/iPad/Macbook and easily transfer to Apple TV. Audio also transfers to the TV. If you have AirPods you can sync them up with Apple TV as well, which is awesome if you're trying to watch something in a small house/apartment while other people are working, studying, etc...Probably my favorite feature. The remote is cool, but takes some getting used to. It can learn your TV and surround sound receiver if you have one. It'll turn on the TV and will control the volume on your receiver (won't power on the receiver though). While I'm not sure I could pay full price for AppleTV, I did use gift cards for this purchase...but I wouldn't say you're crazy for paying full price. I also have a FireTV Stick and FireTV. I would say the Apple TV home screen is easier to navigate, as the Amazon devices have a lot of noise (information) on the home screens (movies AND apps are kind of all over)....BUT that's kind of picking knits. If you're on a budget the FireTV Stick will probably do...but if you're thinking about getting a FireTV or that FireTV Cube thing, you'll probably be happier going with an Apple TV.

Have tried different streaming devices; Roku, fire, google; and prefer the ease of use and performance of Apple TV. It's pricier than others but worth it in my opinion. The Apple remote is very simple to use but the touch pad part can be sensitive to any slight touch and slips between couch cushions easily.

I am really enjoying this product. Very easy to install and setup. The remote has a touch pad and can accept voice commands through siri. I found that Hulu and Disney+ have a better picture quality than using the standard smart feature on the TV. Highly recommend this to do screen mirroring from an apple device. That feature comes in handy when showing friends and family pictures from a trip. The only thing is the price. Apple products rarely go on sale and when they do it seem like a very small percentage off.
