This new generation of Apple TV is much improved. It has more storage options and more viewing choices. Hopefully, I will be able to "cut the cord" from cable/satellite in the near future and only pay for what I want to watch. This Apple TV is a step in that direction.

If you are used to the old Apple TV this one does you proud with its consistency and features. Siri is useful and the grouping of hulu, netflix, hbo, and others into the universal Siri search of a show or movie is nice (you can choose whether you want to watch the show with hulu, netflix, etc.). Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

Bought it for Xmas for the wife. Our upstairs tv was not "smart". Bedroom is smart and basement has xb1. She likes Netflix and a lot of those shows. So it was this or roku. Went with Apple bc of the ease of setup with the iPhone and having an iPad. The integration is great. It works really well alone with the remote. Inlaws got a roku and came over and tried the voice search. Roku returned and Apple TV in their house. Only hope is there keep up with updates and don't let this go.

Love the new remote and how fast/smooth the apple tv is!!

This works smoother than the old one but they sure charge a lot for a replacement clicker if you lose it! Very apple-hijack-esque of them. Also I hate the cumbersome keypad set up on the tv screen but thats not this product's fault, although apple of all companies should come up with a workaround for that sort of thing. Finally, figuring out how to turn off the voice should easier. The good news is I like the apps method and the swipe once you get used to how to do it. Very cool

I purchased 2 Apple 4th generation. TV's for my kids and they love it. Unfortunately, one of the units was defective and had to be swapped out. However, the other unit was very easy to set up, which took about 5 minutes. The App Store has many offerings for the kids from games to programming, and they are loving their new Apple TV's.

Oh my it's simply the best. I had the Amazon product the fire TV and it's going back. Apple has done a great job. It's so good I bought two. Goodbye DirecTV. The only negative is it does not do 4K. But that doesn't really matter because there is no 4K content available or if there is it's very limited. So for now it's simply the best.

I have been using multiple streaming devices for years and this is a step ahead. I think that the addition of customization with apps is great. It satisfies the whole family with ability to organize these into folders for easy access. The Apple single sign on is very convenient so you basically only have to say yes after app loaded. Games available are very strong according to my pre-teen kids and of course much less expensive than console games. For me this means that the short attention span kid will only have used $3 - 5 instead of 40 -60 on one console game. I like the remote, but I am still able to use Harmony for almost everything as well. I think it was a nice addition to family room for holiday gift.

Overall the new Apple TV is a great upgrade for anyone who is already hooked into the Apple ecosystem and has purchased previous models. I have owned 2 Apple TV's that are still working great, but was ready for the new features and speed boost. The update interface and ability to download apps and games is a huge bonus. I give everything about the product in that regard 5 stars. I knock a star off for the overall rating because I feel that the touchpad remote is challenging to use. Navigating the interface with it takes a lot of practice and whereas my 5 year old could use the old style remote no problem, the new remote has been problematic for him. I also feel that perhaps the remote is too small as I find it uncomfortable to hold and use for both normal control of the interface and gaming. Additionally, I am also disappointed that single sign-on in the new TV OS has been delayed and is not yet available. That was one of the key features I bought the unit for as I am looking forward to not signing into Disney Jr every week or so. It seems the app only loses my log in token when my toddler is in a foul mood!

If you've had any experience with Apple TV, this is more of what makes it a great streaming box. The new remote is much improved, and the ability to voice-search is wonderful.

I have had apple tv for 5 years and this newer version is really cool. Things seem to stream faster. Although you cannot download movies to it the extra storage space is for apps and games that can be downloaded. The picture also seems to be better as well.

This is a great update to Apple TV. The interface gets the makeover it definitely needed, and perhaps most importantly, the App Store is going to exponentially increase the amount of available apps. My only complaint isn't really Apple's fault at all, which is to say that the subscription prices for all the various cord-cutter apps can easily add up to nearly the price of actually having cable. It feels like the Apple TV is built for a content landscape we haven't quite reached yet, but in the meantime it remains my favorite streaming box on the market.

The new user IU is very warm and inviting with lighter color scheme and layout. With the new App Store, you can not select what content you want and free up space for items not needed. The new jester remote is a big plus and much quicker to find items. There is a learning curve from the older generations buy well worth it.

I had the old Apple TV and this one is faster and organized better in the menu arrangements and via the remote.

Upgraded from previous Appletv. Like where you can add what apps you want. Siri is a great plus. Like the remote. Sometimes it takes a little longer than usual to start up when you first turn it on.

I had the other Apple tv's and they're good, but this thing is AMAZING! Definitely get one. Don't skimp and get the 64 GB. You never know what this thing will unleash over the next few months and you don't want to regret going small! Go big or go home!

Pros: one time fee, great 1080 p quality picture, has most favorite apps, able to adjust TV volume with the remote, small unit & sleek remote, no picture/programming loss in bad weather. Cons: no Amazon video capability, poor "air" programming for NFL playoffs, higher cost compared to Roku. Overall, satisfied with it and enjoying not having $180 DirecTV monthly bill.

I've been using it for a month now and I'm really happy with every aspect, especially being able to speak to find what I want instead of navigating through endless menus. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to stream videos, play simple games and have a reliable service. Apple has very smooth products...they just work.
