Let me first start with the bad news. There is no power button on the device and the remote is tiny and easy to lose. The good news: everything else. It streams all the major content holders, (hulu, netflix, HBO, History Channel, etc...). You can mirror content from your apple device via airplay. It connects wirelessly to your home network. Have had one of these for a couple of years and just bought a second for another room in the house.

I tried a Chromecast to project the videos on my I phone to my tv. It didn't work well. It kept losing the connection. I bought the Apple TV and it works perfect and simple to use. Anything on my iPhone can be mirrored on the TV now. Not to mention all the "channels" you can watch at no charge

I purchased AppleTV so that I could ease the transition to not having atellite/cable. In order to drastically reduce my satellite plan, I would lose the Big Ten Network (BTN) channel. I have access to the BTN app via my internet service provider and can access it on my iPad, so I bought this so that I could mirror the iPad and still watch BTN when I needed it. I saved about $40/month using this plan, so the AppleTV paid for itself within the first 2 months. Based on the success of this, I may cut my satellite plan completely. The only barrier is that I would lose DVR capability, but that's about the only hurdle. In addition, there were other benefits that I enjoy with this device such as being able to listen to my iTunes music through my home theater system and convenience to stream Netflix. The only complaint i have (and it's a minor one) is that the remote is limited in its functionality. Due to the simplistic/minimalist design, it takes a little longer to key in requests and navigate, but it isn't unmanageable.

purchased another apple tv box for family.. an easy simple device to access alternatives to cable / direct tv.. set up is easy an short.. works seamlessly with apple devices.. although it may not have as many choices as the roku - just like cable, all those channels, yet one only watches 10% of them.. it would be nice for the option to add a few more of personal choice, but that's the issue with all these add-on devices.. no one has 100%..

I had been thinking about getting Apple TV for awhile, then the price dropped and so I finally picked one up. Wish I would not of waited so long, added it to my TV upstairs that is not a smart TV, so now I have access to everything. Also, being able to pair it with my mac airbook is really cool.

The set up all but took 15 minutes & half of that was trying to brave the rear of my TV to get to the HDMI ports. Use the iPad, iPhone, or any Apple device to control the unit. Dont even bother using the remote that came with it. Once you type in all your passwords and log in's then the operation is seamless. My sons (6 & 11) know how to use it but the wife is taking a bit longer to get used to the program. She still calls it Chromecast, as the Apple TV replaced our Chromecast unit. The mirroring from our Apple devices is awesome. If your app can stream to the Apple TV even better! There are other channels in the unit but is hardly used as we have Comcast Cable TV. The Apple TV is primarily used to stream movies from my computer hard drive to the TV. The old method was trying to configure my Xbox, but because of all the patches that Microsoft puts out, this method is usually updated and bumbled more often than I would like to count. Great product and will be telling my family members about getting Apple TV rather than Chromecast.

The Apple TV allows me to connect flawlessly to my iPad to allow viewing videos on the larger format of the HDTV. I travel for business and this allows me to use the Internet connections to view streaming videos from home. Unfortunately some of the channels are not viewable outside of the U.S.

It was easy to set up and mirror our other apple products, such as ipad and iphone. I gave it 4 stars because it is limited, I wish it had direct internet access without having to use my laptop, phone, or tablet. You can only access a few apps on it's own and all of them are paid services. For example you have to have Hulu plus, and other paid services to fully take advantage of it's convenience. Fun toy is what I call this item.

My 19 yr old rarely asks for anything but wanted this for Christmas. He immediately took it to his room Christmas morning and connected to his TV. He prefers apple products because of the ease of connection and use. He loves this product and the picture quality on his TV is great using this.

Apple makes great products. The Apple TV is super easy to set up and to use. Great for Netflix and a whole heap of other apps. It also will let you "AirPlay" your other apple devices (phones, iPads, MacBooks, etc.) to listen to music or watch movies on your TV using that other device.

Apple TV is excellent, as are all Apple products. It performs exactly as expected. A few of the channels, such as CBS News, require that you have a cable subscription. There are, however, a number of free channels that offer interesting content. It is easy to use, and works flawlessly.

This is extremely easy to use and operate. It hooks up easy and walks you through setup. The only downside is using the included remote to type a username and password. I recommend a Bluetooth keyboard to make it easier.

I love the air play & mirroring options, but disappointed that there aren't more apps loaded. I also have a Roku 3 & I guess the app selection there has me a bit spoiled. Since the air play option is there it basically makes up for it. If you're an Apple person you'll enjoy it.

I have no problems with my Apple TV. It has plenty of apps on it which are great. I mainly use it to mirror what's on my phone and send it to my flatscreen. I originally bought one for myself. Then caught this on sale for $70 a month later and bought one for my parents. They love it

Especially if you are already part of the apple eco system. Then it really shines! The ability to operate and stream from your iphone/ipad takes this way over the top! Like all apple items, super easy to use and set up. If you already have content on itunes this is a sure winner!

This is used daily and I love it. We use all kinds of apps on it and can cast movies and media from our devices. The remote is nice, the box doesn't take up much room at all. It's easy to hook up. There have been no issues at all, I have only positive things to say about it.

A simple to install, easy to use, wonderful addition to home theatre systems. Not just a "smart" application portal but also a useful tool to "push" personal as well as broadcast content onto your main television. Anything that is on you Apple computer can be shown on the TV screen so it makes watching Internet content a lot better.

The Apple TV provides an easy way to get your favorite streaming services on your TV like Netflix, Hulu, Crackle and many more. The only con I've noticed is typing out long movie names or long video names on YouTube since the included remote does not have a dedicated keypad you'll find yourself navigating to each letter on the onscreen keypad, which can take a while. Nonetheless this is a overall fantastic device.

This item is a must have for any Apple Fanboy. Of course you'd probably they'd probably already have one...The device connects to your home wi-fi network and can seamlessly connect to your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro, etc.) and play content on your TV. Very fun, very useful!

This little box is the best thing to buy for your home (especially if you have any iDevices). I have 3 of them connected to every tv in my house and am constantly using them. I have them connected to my iTunes on my Mac and everything transfers over flawlessly. I can watch movies from my computer, make my TV into a separate desktop for my Mac, listen to music on every tv in the house using AirPlay on my iPhone/iPad/Mac, and have all my pictures as a screen saver. You can watch the Disney channel (must set up with your tv provider I think), redbull TV, a bunch of other TV and music channels, Netflix, Hulu plus, HBO go, showtime, ESPN, just to name a few. You can buy/rent movies and shows from the Apple Store. It really is an all around powerful little box. Easy to hide in a small space letting it blend in without all the clutter of DVD players and such. Just need wifi (I think wired works as well), a power cord (included) and an HDMI cable (not included).
