While there are things I wish Apple would implement in terms of the apps available on the AppleTV unit, I have to say that it's one of my favourite purchases ever and is extremely easy to set up and use. I do recommend that you use the Remote app on iOS devices to control the unit as it makes searching for programmes that much easier, though it's a bit touchy to scroll through items. This review was been written by a person who uses all Apple products so please keep that in mind. About a month before I purchased an Apple TV, I got a Chromecast for about $2 thanks to some Best Buy Reward Coupons that I had. I like it very much, but I found it to be a bit cumbersome. I had to download apps (both free and paid) in order to make it do what I wanted it to do, so long as they are Chromecast ready, which was play movies that I have on my computer or display images or videos that I've taken with my phone. It won't play my iTunes library of movies or music without me having to jump through a ton of hoops and the same thing goes for casting my computer to my television. I can cast Chrome, but if I needed it for a second screen, I'd be out of luck. While at a friend's house, I got to play with their AppleTV and thought, "This is exactly what I want. It does exactly what I want." So I saved up and went out and got one and haven't looked back. I can send my computer screen to the TV with a few mouse clicks and I'm not restricted to using one browser. I can put whatever I'm watching on my phone or tablet onto my television with a few taps regardless of the app I'm using. And I love the Remote app, which is the best way to control the AppleTV unit.

The ease of use. And the ability to use airplay make this a great device. i have one in every room.

I bought Apple Tv because I couldn't get wifi connection from a wifi blu ray player. With Apple Tv I get great service. After a fast simple set up you could view your photos and hear music through Apple Tv. It also has plenty of other apps like YouTube Netflix WTTW KIDS and plenty of other options. So far it's working perfectly with no problems.

easy to use it, not too much tools and its bad the conectiob with my Mac but ok with Ipad and Iphone

It is easy to install. Straight forward and simple. As far as it's features it has options to purchase more programming, it is easy to pair with other apple devises. It's awesome.

Great little device, takes up almost no room, optical out is nice, and the release of Plex Connect really makes this a winner. The remote is nice but too small. If you have big hands or big thumbs get the app for your iPhone. Honestly though, get a Roku if you don't already have a bunch of Apple stuff.

Debated between going with a smart tv, roku, amazon fire tv, or the apple tv. I let the salesperson talk me in to getting the apple tv and I am glad I did. It has many apps that I use often and pairs with my wife's iPhone and iPad. I'm thinking of buying a second apple tv for my other television and doing away with cable or satellite all together.

I have an Apple TV and watch an hour per night, works very well, low energy consumption. Easy to use.

The Apple TV is an excellent product. It's easy to use and way better quality than the Roku product.

Love our Apple TV that we got for Christmas. It was easy to set up and performs wonderfully. We live where there is no TV available, so have to get our entertainment via DSL. With Apple TV we get to watch almost anything that is available on Cable and there is no subscription except of course for premium services like Netflix, Hulu+... I only wish apple had a way we could use a full keyboard to dearch and enter passwords.

Still wish it had more apps and i can't AirPlay from my 2010 MacBook . Buts it's a great thing to have when you don't have cable . Quality and connection is great - no issues .

I love my apple tv so much, I have one for each TV. I will be purchasing the new one when it is released as well. I watch everything from the device and am 100% digital now with no need for DVD players, etc. Also use it for Netflix and the NHL Gamecenter. Only two negatives are the lack of voice control (which the new model will have) and the remote is so small it is constantly lost. But you can use your iphone or ipad as a remote.
