The Apple TV (name will probably change one day if you listen tot he rumors) is a network interface of your existing TV and your internet. We got one since we were getting sick of a so-so interface on the Blur-ray player and the fact that it kept forgetting the network, username and password. Installation was a breeze and it hooked up to our system with no problems and has not lost the network information at all since we have installed it. Another benefit is that it hooks up to iTunes and allows us to interact with our content there. Even allows us to view our photos from iPhoto and other sources (flickr, etc). Overall, it helped make our decision to cut cable that much easier. A nice accessory for our viewing enjoyment. I would recommend it.

I have a smart TV. I have the cable to connect my laptop to my tv. I tried Chromecast. All of which are "ok" at best. Apple TV is far and away THE product to use. Off the bat I was seamlessly using it in the bedroom, quickly transitioned to the living room... and I have no problems or complaints. Simpsons 24/7 via FXX, wrestling on the WWE Network, HBO Now... it's all there and working perfectly.

This device works seamlessly with all my apple products. Very easy to use and setup.

It is small in size and easy to use. I don't like that you have to go all the way through the menu to the show to find out if you have to pay or not to watch.

Easy to use. Play items from your computer on your TV. Watch Hulu and Netflix as well.

The apple tv is easy to install and I can mirror my iphone to the tv through apple tv. The drawback is it doesn't include "Sling TV" as part of their apps.

I had my doubts at first, but this Apple tv is pretty good. Easy to set up and use.

i got this as part of a bundle that i purchased for a gift and they love it personally i perfer the roku but it is a personal preference. if you have ever had a google chrome stick or a roku it is the same basic principle and works very much the same way just compatable witth mac book. where mine works with my dell. all in all a cool bonus to the bundle and worth it if you have an apple lover.

I own three Apple TV boxes and they are all awesome. Easy to use and always works.

It is easy to use and connect my cell phone to do various streaming to th TV screen.

Was using a Amazon Fire Stick and it worked well but my wife wanted to watch a show on Showtime and we couldn't get the Showtime app on the Firestick. Bought the Apple TV with no hesitation because of reviews from friends that had one already. Took it home and hooked it up in minutes. Searched for the Showtime app and began watching the show. Great product! Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I do not have CABLE. Apple TV is the answer for your TV needs, especially if you're tech-savvy/mac-savvy. This device installs in literally less than 5 minutes. *YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN HDMI CABLE. Small, sleek, and inconspicuous. Great if you don't have a lot of space around your TV. *You will also need an internet connection (wireless internet in the home to sync to other apple devices). I am able to stream movies/tv shows/music throughout the house, from my computer to my apple tv, or from my phone or ipad to my apple tv. Want to listen to your itunes in the living room/bedroom? Just turn on apple tv, and you've got your entire music/video itunes library at your fingertips. Lost your remote? Download "remote" app from your ipad/iphone/ipodtouch, and you can control each individual apple tv from THAT device. If you're on the fence between this and and something comparable, don't short-change yourself. GET apple tv. You'll love it.

I was using logitech revue but want to switch to some other streaming player. I love apple product so picked up this one. Everything is good but some feature are annoying like. 1. In netflix it will not tell you recent watch list on the landing page, you need to go inside so multiple click needed. 2. if you are in netflix and quickly want to move to youtube then you have to go all the way back to home. So dedicated home button is missing. 3. if you are in youtube and let say want to watch all the 2015 movie trailer, so you will go in search and play one. now if you want to play next one then it will not tell you which one is next and you will not be able to play selective trailer from the list either you have to go back to the search or pause it and scroll down. oh come-one can't you give scroll list at bottom if i click down button. 4. there is control for volume so i have to keep my TV remove with me to control the TV volume :-( 5. you can not browse on TV there is no safari on it, tell me why ? 6. there is good feature you can your apple iphone or ipad as a keyboard if you have keyboard app in your device. but i found that if you type big line for search then it keep repeating the text in search box. If these feature are not important for you then yes go ahead with this it's a nice product. But my kids need these feature or may be they are missing this feature as they used it in previous device.
