I did not read the description well enough and accidentally purchased this model instead of the 4k. If it performs anything like the 4K model I replaced it with than it deserves a good review.

Great product, my second one, we use in the livingroom.

Love it. Easy to use and never had a quality problem. We have two in the house about two year separate in vintage. Performance is consistent though their are slight design changes in the remote...improvements. Really like the interoperability among Apple products.

Setup was easy and after a few quick updates it was ready to go in minutes!

The newly updated remote works much better than the previous models and is very easy for my grandparents to use (I bought this for them and set it up). They’re not extremely tech-savvy, and my grandfather has Parkinson’s and operates it with relative ease. On that fact alone, I would recommend it for anyone.

How can you not give Apple TV five stars? Does everything I need it to do. The remote is a little different than the ones I had before but that’s a good thing. I like the fast forward option the best

Just awesome! Smooth, swift, solid and elegant. What more can I say … it’s an Apple. Yes, it costs more than perceived “similar” or “same” models from other competitors. For our family it was worth it. No more wheel of frustration.

I absolutely love it. It's such an easy set up to have everything under one console: cable TV via app, youtube, netflix, appletv, amazon prime, etc. The fact that I can control everything with my phone is also a huge plus that I was not even aware of until after I bought it.

Love the updated remote, our family uses all apple products and they are great quality and very reliable. We have several of these and bought this one for our game room it works flawlessly and haven’t had any issues with it.

Bought this as a gift. I’m jealous I didn’t keep it to myself. The upgraded remote is an improvement from previous generations.

The internal hardware specs for the new AppleTV HD really make it great for streaming, particularly if you live in an area where data caps make 4K streaming impractical. As beautiful as the image quality is, as smooth as the interface functions, and just as all-around good as this new version is - meaning that all your updated streaming apps will work on it - the reason why this is not a 5 star review is that, to Apple's great shame (I would think), they outsourced the development of the remote (in an effort to make it more compatible in code sharing with other remotes), and this can cause the remote to lose pairing with the base unit, which is a giant PITA because the only fix so far (with no firmware revision announced) is to disconnect the power from your AppleTV and then re-pair the two. While the new Siri voice input is good, and the glide pad control is a major improvement over the old click wheel (which is still there in case you like that dang old thing), and that the remote charges via Lightning Cable (no more watch batteries), the fact that the remote randomly becomes unpaired is a real annoyance. Maybe they'll get it right with Gen 3.
