I shopped around, looking for a good SD card reader that was MBP compatible. There were plenty of offerings. But, whether this reveals me as an Apple fanboy or one that is a sucker for marketing, I decided to pay more for the Apple-produced SD card reader. Having another non-Apple card reader (my wife's), this one uploads and downloads files much faster. We are very pleased.
