    The SD card reader is a good idea, but I have had mixed results using one. The iPad doesn't always identify the card reader, which makes transfer of data difficult. It probable needs to be fixed by Apple.

    It's disappointing that the MacBook Pro does not have an SD card slot built-in. This is an easy solution and doesn't require an adapter cable like the external optical drive.
