    This is just needed on the newer versions of the MacBook, although I think it’s be more convenient to have it built in the laptop. It works just fine with it being plugged in.

    This adapter works just as you would expect a Mac oem adapter to work. Might be annoying to have to use it but it is essential to have in your bag.

    So far it's working great. For the price it's worth getting a better quality cable like this one. In particular I like the fact that the port has a snug fit so the cable won't fall out.
