With the new MacBook this is needed if you need to connect to old USB Memory Sticks or any other accessory that uses the old USB. Wish Apple packed it in with the system.

This item is a must if you have accesories that pre-date the USB-C domination. Which is still today as we speak. Keyboards are still sold with the ubiquitous USB type A connector. I went even further back in time, with my trusty Belkin PS/2 to USB adapter which then connects to this USB-C adapter and I'm typing this review right now with my Cherry PS/2 mechenical keyboard with borwn switches which feel so good and tactile. Apple computers with a mechanical keyboards and an Apple Magic Trackpad is perfection right there.

Small and easy to travel with! I thought it would be annoying to have to use an adapter, but I don't even notice it.

This is the only usbc dongle that works long term. I have tried 6 different brands and all have failed within the first year of use. This is the first one that has not failed. Rock solid.

I purchased this as a recommendation not thinking I would ever use it and I use it all the time. I highly suggest this if you have a MacBook!!!

I purchased this adapter to connect my external hard drive to my MacBook Pro 13.3. My Mac recognized my drive and I was able to transfer my files. One note your hard drive must formatted as FAT or exFAT. I also tried connecting my old PC mouse to my Mac using this cable. My Mac thought it was a new keyboard but it did recognize my mouse. It made it easier for me too move from PC to Mac. It is another cable you have to have with you but it works flawlessly and is fairly cheap. $ 19 bucks and genuine Apple product. Highly recommend this cable.

Good, compact dongle for use with older standard USB connections to the new USB-C port. Easy to stick in the bag and travel with and has a strong connection when things are plugged in/

Currently in school so I was worried when I realized my USB Drive wouldn’t work with the new MacBook USB. This is obviously so easy to use and small so I can store it easily.

With the new MacBookPros not having any USB plugs, this cable is a necessity if you have USB peripherals, which who doesn't? Everything I've plugged in works perfectly with speeds not seeming to be an issue.

This is a very solid adapter that appears to be very well made. If you have a USB-C laptop like the new MacBook Pro this adapter is an absolute necessity. I recommend against cheap after-market imitations.

This works but was more expensive than some other versions. Wish I had tried the insignia version, would have been a much better value and I’m very happy with my other insignia adapter.

Bought it for the external Apple USB hard drive because the other 3rd party adapter would work with the hard drive. This one worked like a charm.

Needed this when I purchased my new MacBook. It works well and is solid. Sucks that Apple basically forces you to own one...but hey, a necessary evil!

It simply works! It's light and super fast. I use it to charge my phone. I doesn't necessarily feel like a dongle, but more like an extension. I recommend open box. There's nothing wrong with mine!

Great Apple Quality. A must have for anyone who needs to attach older USBa devices to their newer computer that has the newer USC technology.
