    I have several of these connectors. For me, I like having them for each flash-drive. Towers etc do not travel well... for me. These are married to one drive and make my use simple and easy.

    If you have the new Macbook Pro you need this to connect any external device that has the old, standard USB ports. Does its job. It is short, but if you have the Seagate slim drive right next to your computer, no problem. It is a bit pricey and Apple should have included one in the price of the new computer as this is a necessary piece of equipment if you are going to plug anything with a regular USB port.

    If you're getting a USB-C MacBook, you're gonna want one of these. It's a bit overpriced. You can find cheaper, more elegant adapters out there, but this one does what it needs to do without a fuss. You could complain about it for awhile or spend sometime shopping around for a better value; you could even angrily unleash your disdain on social media platforms. If that helps you feel better, go for it, but don't let this be thing that makes your day crappy.

    Usual Apple quality - this adapter has a snug fit in the USB-C port and all of the USB peripherals that I have plugged in are quickly powered up and recognized by my laptop. The build quality is good, so I expect that I will have use of this adapter for at least a few years.
