There isn't much to say about these - they're basic converters by Apple and as such have the "Apple tax" attached to them. They work well and I have found Apple branded cables and converters to hold up better for the most part than the cheaper off-name branded items. Another way to go is to get a hub that will allow you to connect multiple types of cables too. I have one that does HDMI, USB-A, and USB-C. However sometimes you need to plug something directly into the laptop. These work.

You probably need this or something comparable to use your USB Type A peripherals with the new Mac Mini M4. It also works with the iPhone 15 and later, as well as the iPad 10th gen and later.

Great Adapter Option! Great to use for many different applications. Can use to convert your USB charge cord to USB-C and plug into newer blocks, or older peripherals. Works great with no issues. Great Apple Product!

Works great, kind of pricey but does exactly what it is supposed to do! I use it to be able to listen to over-the-ear headphones on my ipad, which was necessary for a project I was working on. Couldnt have done it without it.

2 years ago I invested in better quality charging cables for my iPhone. Then last year I had to get a new Mac and then saw that it used USB C. This adapter allowed me to use my iPhone charging cable with my computer using the adapter. Obviously cheaper than getting all new cables and anyway without the adapter I can still plug it into my outlet strip which accepts only the old USB. Am glad that so far that my 2 year old cables are still working fine and so is this adapter.

The rubber sheath encasing the PowerLine II is smooth yet grippy, and it’s quite durable, holding up after more than a year of daily wear and tear in our testing. The cable’s housings—the parts that connect the metal plugs to the body of the cable—are the sturdiest and most comfortable to grip of any we’ve tested. Made of a single piece of matte-textured rubber, the housings provide ample room for you to grasp the plug firmly while you’re plugging and unplugging, which is the best way to avoid fraying and breakage. When we plugged both ends of each cable into a variety of devices, we observed minimal wiggling; that stability ensures a solid connection for charging and data transfer.

    A Much needed accessory

This is a much needed add on for someone who might be using a MacBook Pro or iPad Pro. To get the USB port available, you'll be needing one or a few of these. I bought these instead of those port hubs fro my MacBook since I like the hard shells over the aluminum case. So that makes those accessories unusable. Plus I like the apple brand products for best compatibility and fewest issues.

I'm not sure what there is to say about a USB adapter. It reliably bridges the gap between my oldish external hard drive and my newish MacBook.

It's super easy to use and works perfectly for my personal use case. I think my biggest gripe is just the fact that you have to pay for this at all. Apple loves to cut out key functionality in favor of aesthetics a little bit before the alternative is ready for primetime, and this is no exception. I'm sitting here with 3 dongles such as this hanging out of my MacBook because of it. Of course, this isn't a knock on the product itself — if you need it, get open-box to save a few bucks.

These adapters are a convenient recourse for my needs with the M1 2021 MacBook Pro which has no USB connection. Works great just a bit messy with two of these adapters hanging from each side of my laptop. They seem a little snug and somewhat difficult to plug your USB device into but I am happy to have this option.

For the way I work, going between computers and not always having Wi-Fi available to use Cloud services, keeping files on portable drives is a necessity. With MacBook Air no longer including what were long USB standard ports, this cable is a necessity to use the drives that work with other devices. Works fine... as long as you remember to pack it!
