    A useful necessity

For the way I work, going between computers and not always having Wi-Fi available to use Cloud services, keeping files on portable drives is a necessity. With MacBook Air no longer including what were long USB standard ports, this cable is a necessity to use the drives that work with other devices. Works fine... as long as you remember to pack it!

Fast Answer: Works great / Fast speeds / No problems Stupidly I wired my entire house with new Cat6 lines and got to connecting the Mac up to the adapter I had bought for Ethernet to Lightning and slapped myself in the face. I had bought an ethernet to USB. So I quickly called up my local BestBuy and got this to finish the project. Great speed and high build quality. No complaints.

There were 3 staff members standing together. One lady, Asian I believe, in the middle of her conversation, jumped right up and asked to assist me. Described my needs and she literally walked me right to the product i was looking for. What stood out was that in mid conversation, she dropped everything to assist me. Outstanding employee.

I own 3 of these USB-C to USB dongles. I have several USB hard drives and I use this item to connect them to my MacBook Pro. The connection is snug and the hard drives don't disconnect randomly.

Nice to have with my new MacBook Air. Not realizing that you would need a way to adapt all your old USB devices abs cords into Apple’s new use of the USB-C this is a must have. Priced nice for the quality that you get. Bought a second one since this original purchase because it’s nice to have with you and a spare in my computer bag

With the purchase of a new MacBook Pro I needed a USB-C to USB adapter or none of my current devices would work. So basically you are forced to purchase. I see other brands available for a few bucks less, but why not stick with Apple if you already are using their products. (iPHONE or other products.) Stick with Apple and you won't go wrong.

This is a great adapter to have and they automatically ask you if you want one because the new Macbook Pros only have thunderbolt ports. However, many things are using thunderbolt ports so it's really not that inconvenient. The new Galaxy phones use thunderbolt ports as a charger and it fits in the computer and vice versa. And it's small so you can bring it with you without a hassle or super long cord!

Since USB ports are still the dominant connector, you’ll need a couple of these adapters. This Apple connector appears to be the best - very high quality. Yes, the cord is on the short side but that make it’s easily portable. I recommend above the other adapters and would buy it again.

I debated whether to buy an off-brand adapter or this Apple adapter. I ended up purchasing the Apple name brand because I read other adapters can potentially mess with the hard drive. This connecter is much needed if you have a newer MacBook laptop, but it is very handy!

This may be pricier than other brands but hands down I've never had an issue with Apple adapters and this one is no exception. I own 3 of them, one at each of my office locations and one to travel with and I'm happy to pay for the peace of mind and stability that comes with this purchase as my job depends on it. I'm a video editor and my drives and peripherals connection is critical.

This Apple USB-C to USB adapter is an essential for macbook users. Today's macbook comes only with USB-C ports making this adapter very handy and essential for those old devices having USB ports that needs to be connected to the macbook. This adapter appears well constructed and stays true to the design spirit of Apple. Hope this device last long through the years.

I got this when I bought my MacBook Air so I could print while on the job. Works perfect. The connection on the USB side is a little tight, but it is on the three port adapter I purchased as well. This is perfect if I only need to add the printer to my computer for the day. The larger three port is for days when I need to use external drives as well as a printer.

I use this to connect a usb headset to my nintendo switch. Does an excellent job. Recognizes headset right away. Quality cable. I debated between this and just a solid adapter. I prefer this due to the extra little wire you've got which servers as a buffer in case you tug on the cable, doesn't put extra stress on the usb c port on the switch.

Purchased this OTG to be able to connect an external thumb drive to my Samsung phone and Samsung Galaxy Tab A, to play music and videos off my thumb drive. It works as expected, but one caution: when attaching this to your Galaxy Tablet, it may not work at first. When I was deciding on purchasing this at Best Buy, I told the assistant that I wanted to be sure that this actually worked on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A I was also purchasing. He gave it a try and at first it did not recognize the thumb drive. He brought the entire unit over to the Geek Squad and I don't know what they did, but it ended up working. When I insert a new thumb drive now, it takes a bit of time for the tablet to recognize the thumb drive - perhaps because it first makes an inventory the the thumb's contents before giving the message that it recognizes the contents of the thumb drive. Also, some of my thumb drives needed to be "fixed" (my computer actually kept asking me if I wanted these thumb drives to be "fixed" and I'd kept answering NO for fear that it might just reformat the contents. But actually the contents are not harmed, and the thumb drives are "fixed" whatever that means...no explanation as to what was in need of being fixed. Anyway, once fixed, the tablet recognizes the thumb drives.
