The apple Watch series 5 (GPS + Cellular) is extraordinary. Imagine no longer worrying about leaving your home without your phone, yet still being able to make phone calls, receive phone calls, send and receive texts (Without having your iPhone). Weather alerts, driving and walking directions to any location w/o a phone -- only your watch. Have a video door bell, now you can receive alerts with video on your watch, phone not needed. A dear friend recently had a stroke without any prior warning. Recently, I received an alert on my watch that Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB) signs were detected, and that if this was not normal, I should consult my physician. This happened on a Friday evening and several times over the weekend. I am in my 70s, and have never had AFIB, or arrhythmia. I saw my cardiologist on Monday and he confirmed via ECG that I now had AFIB and immediately put me on Eliquis to prevent a stroke. In short, w/o the watch detecting the AFIB, I may have had a stroke with no warning. This watch is going to save lives.

No issues. A little pricy but well worth it. Love that I can download music directly to the watch and not have to carry my phone when I workout or run. I don't use a ton of the features but that one was key to me. I originally bought during lockdown when the gyms were closed to keep myself accountable and moving and it's been great for that. I do like the fact I can take phone calls directly through the watch as well and have never had any issues hearing people or them understanding me. It's definitely an expensive gadget and probably not the choice for you if you're just looking to count your steps, but for all the other features it was worth the price.

Apple Watch 5 is the best yet

I have owned each version of the Apple Watch and have found them all to be good but version 5 has so many outstanding features it clearly is my choice in terms of functionality as well as usability. The always on watch face makes it so much better than its predecessors that I wonder how I got along without it, it’s cellular capabilities and it’s ability to instantly link to my air pods and Siri’s voice commands allows me to make calls while out for a walk even if I am not carrying my iPhone. It charges quickly, the battery last my 16-18 hour days and it’s waterproof. All that and countless apps which increase its usefulness. I strongly recommend this Apple Watch.

I'm a welder/pipe-fitter and was hesitant about getting this watch because I didn't think it would hold up. I figured the sport band it came with might melt so I replaced it with stainless steel. After one day on the job it was covered in mud and I thought about returning it but bought a protective cover instead and so far it has held up. I thought it would be hard to figure out but it was surprisingly easy. Now my wife can get a hold of me when I'm on the job if she needs too. Overall I'm satisfied. I do think it is overpriced but if it holds up it'll be worth it.

I love my Apple Watch 5. The watch has earned and deserves 5 star reviews by the boat load. I had real concern using a touch screen on a small device. There has not been a single concern. The numerous watch faces provide a watch for fun with the grandkids,i.e. Mickey and Minnie mouse, a business environment and formal engagements. The always on feature was not a deciding factor in the buying decision. After speaking with and seeing earlier versions, I have a new found love for the feature. Battery life is about 18 hours. Would like to have had wireless charging, but the magnetic charging cable does the job. The watch sync's to my iphone flawlessly. This was my first smartwatch. Watches that come after this one have a lot to live up to.

Bought my first Apple Watch and I love it! My recommendation is to spend the extra money and get the cellular. I have really used my watch quite a lot when my phone was not present and it’s very convenient to not always have to have my phone with me. I wasn’t sure about it at first but it did not take very long to realize that I had made the right choice. The always on feature is also very nice. Overall I give this watch 5 stars!

Never Wore a Watch Before...And I love it

I am in my 40s. And my health is a concern because of my age. Things just happen after you turn 40. I never wore a watch in my life. I maybe tried for a month when I was 22 and got a gift as a college graduate. So I waited and waited. And waited till the 5th version of the Apple Watch. I love it. And wear it everyday. Doesn't bother me. And I use it. 1. I have a history of high heart rate and blood pressure. So it's monitoring for that 2. I just started to increase my exercise. I walk and row. The rowing measurement isn't great, but it's there. And it does measure the time of the rowing, which is fine. 3. Love the integration with the Health App. I never used the Health App before but now I have a food app, scale integration, blood pressure integration. It's all integrated. 4. The watch gives me updates if I am short of my goal. It will give me an alert at 5pm some days and tell me "You are close, a 15 minute walk will help you reach your daily goal." 5. I rely less on my phone. I can screen calls, messages, emails, Slack messages, security camera alerts, etc, without my phone. I can also use the watch to pay for purchases. 6. I got the cheapest version, the Aluminum version. And after a month, its held up. No dents or scratches. 7. Advise, search the net for cheap $2 bands. I use these when I exercise. And then switch them out and watch them together. I got 10 and it cost me $20. 8. Charger is cool. I once woke up and noticed sometime in the night, it slipped off the charger. I might have bumped it with a pillow or something. Summary: If you exercise, this is for you. If you care about health, this is DEFINITELY for you.

I use this watch day and night. Yes I take time to charge it up but it takes very little time to get that done. Using it for exercise, keeping active and seeing how you accomplish burning calories is just the beginning. It is a great fit and very modern. I like the options it comes with and just taking a little time with setting it up, you learn how many options you have. Pretty cool!

I've had this for just over a month now, and I'm very happy with it. I'm using it primarily for health, fitness and sleep tracking, not so much for productivity. I'm no longer young and have decided I can no longer coast on what's up to now been my usual good health. It accurately tracks my heart rate and activity, and with a third party app also tracks my sleep patterns (version 7 of the watch OS will apparently have built-in sleep tracking). The biggest complaint I see is about battery life but I find it's decent. I wear it when sleeping, and I typically hike 2-3 hours a day, and it's usually at about 25% charge at about 8pm when I start recharging it. I *don't* listen to music on it. I bought the cellular version so I usually don't take my phone with me. But that uses more battery, so as an experiment this week, I took my phone with me on a couple of two hour walks. The charge was just under 50% in the evening, so I could get close to two days use out of it. Just now, at 6pm and after a two hour walk, it's at 55%. I don't know what other people are doing to get barely a day's use out of it. Very much recommended.

Functionality far exceeded expectations. I can be removed from my phone and still read email and texts. I use dictation for all texts. While not always 100% accurate, it does the job. The watch connects to the phone via Bluetooth, WI-Fi and cellular. The phone automatically switches to the signal that uses the least amount of watch power. The cellular watch option is the way to go. If you forget your phone when you go out simply tap the cellular icon on the watch to turn on and it is business as usual. With the phone’s Bluetooth signal I get coverage in most of my house ( approx 30’ + range) without wi-fi. You can turn off cellular to save power if you want to. On my cell phone plan, adding the watch is $10/month extra. The rubber watch band is a pain to put on your wrist as it flops around way too much. But taking the watch off is fast and easy. The user can program various watch faces which can be changed by a simple swipe. The user can program certain faces to have small app icons on them thereby saving time. For example, I have mail, messages, phone, calendar and battery status on one of my faces. Very handy.

Amazing watch, I use this every day. I am a very active person, so the health tracker is amazing for me. I love the always on display! Having the ability to walk away and leave my phone at home while I run, is not only amazing but it adds a level of security for me, in an emergency, I can call for help,

All of the anticipated benefits are really there. Keeps track of fitness routines and prompts with reminders to take time to move. The convenience of not having to have your phone with you at all times is phenomenal. Takes a bit to get acclimated to the various uses of the device, but once you have it set it is great.

I don’t consider myself hip to any electronics, I’m the kind of person who’s kids set up all their devices but this time it was different. I was able to use my watch without any help. I use it to track my exercise, it’s also so handy when your busy. The hands free capability is wonderful. Loving it!

It's pricey...and does almost "too much". But for someone that has not worn a watch in decades I find it right in the middle of my daily life now. If I ever figure out everything it does I will write a better review. One down side; the band that comes with it is a little clunky. Shop for a replacement.

It is amazing how many functions this Apple Watch series 5 has. Exercise mode, heartbeat, EKG, text message, email, you name it, it does it. And if you don’t feel like dragging your phone along, leave it behind. Oh and by the way, cellular call quality is excellent. Five stars here!

I absolutely love this watch. I’ve had apple watches in the past, but this one is the best by far. It’s so easy to use and very responsive. The battery life could be better, but it still lasts me through an entire day and charge it nightly.
