Worth the price for a homekit camera
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall good. Works perfect with homekit. Few issues during setup, had to set it up twice. Camera can be better or they need to figure out solution for very bright background

Works Great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This doorbell works great! It is the only Homekit compatible battery operated video doorbell you can buy. I have it set up using Apple HomeKit and it works as it should. I have it set where when the doorbell is rang it will chime through the HomePods throughout my apartment but not chime through the included chime. It will also pop up a live feed on my Apple TVs when it is rang showing a live feed automatically. The doorbell looks great too. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a video doorbell.

Great For Homekit
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are trying to build a homekit based smart home, this is a great doorbell. It’s reliable and easy to setup. No subscriptions for the manufacturer are required either! So why 4 stars? Simple… you are required to use an external doorbell. It’s small but annoying. Also, the video feed is landscape… your door area is almost always taller than it is wide, seems like a poor design decision.

Excellent doorbell for HomeKit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.as one of the very few HomeKit compatible doorbells, this is excellent. The set up was easy, and I didn’t even have to download the proprietary application in order to add it to my home set up. That is a major plus.

Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I received my Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 camera a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. Upon unboxing the package, you'll find inside: * Smart Video Doorbell G4 camera * Wedge Bracket * Phillips Screwdriver * (6) AA Batteries * Chime Repeater * USB-C to USB-A Cable * Wall Screws & Anchors * Wedge Screw Kit * User Manual Now before you get started, there's a couple of things that are recommended before installation. First off, one of the unique features I love about this particular video doorbell, is the fact that it can be installed either wireless (using the included batteries) or hard-wired (using existing wires or the recommended wires included in the box). If you hard-wire to your existing doorbell line then you'll need to first figure out which electrical line your doorbell is running on. Now this process could take some time depending on whether or not your breaker box is properly labeled. For me I had to go through this process through trial and error, however, being that I had previously installed another video doorbell camera on my front door, I know that my doorbell line runs on my basement/garage line. Now once you have either charged up the battery on the video doorbell camera, or figured out which line it’s connected to, you're ready for installation. To install, simply go to the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android and download the Aqara Home app. Once downloaded, follow along with the on device instructions. Sign-In/Create an account, Install as instructed, Connect to WiFi, and Scan for Firmware Updates. And that's it. Over the last few days, we have been very impressed with the Aqara’s Smart Video Doorbell G4 as far as clarity. There has been a couple times where the feed says camera offline, when it’s hardwired. Not sure what causes that. Also another issue we have had is connecting it the to the Google Home app which it states is supported by this camera, but it continues to have issues. We were able to connect it through the Aqara Home app and Apple’s HomeKit Home app on iPhone. Sound was also crystal clear. We can also see a wider view of field with the Aqara Smart Video Doorbell versus the other camera we previously had installed which showed only top to bottom. This doorbell camera was very easy to install. It took me approximately 20 minutes to install this once I took a quick inventory to ensure I had all the parts. Initially when I installed it, I accidentally installed it too high but I was able to quickly go back and move it down a little lower. This doorbell camera also features facial recognition, personalized ringtones, voice changing options, and free 7 days cloud storage. You can also use a microSD card up to 512GB when hard-wired on the chime repeater. So far this has been an amazing video doorbell camera to use. The app could use some loving and tweaked to be a little more user friendly, but overall it's a win in my book.

Great video doorbell with Apple HomeKit support
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Aqara G4 Smart Video Doorbell is a good doorbell for your home which supports Apple HomeKit. The doorbell is fairly simple to install. Quite similar to most other video doorbells I’ve installed. It comes with a battery slot so that you can install batteries for power. It also comes with a doorbell chime, which allows you to hear the video doorbell chime. One downside is that it does not allow you to connect the doorbell to your home’s existing chime system. I wish it could, because we had our home’s doorbell chimes wired together so that we can hear when the doorbell is rung from the main level or basement area. With this doorbell only using its own chime, it’s not possible to hear it throughout our home. I guess it’s not too big of a deal because the app will allow you to choose smart home speaker devices that you can connect to when the doorbell is engaged. You can also have it displayed on Amazon and Google video devices. The doorbell comes with a 1080p camera which has present decent video quality. When mounting the doorbell you can use the included screws as well as the mounting plate. For those that may live in a rental property and unable to screw into the wall or doorframe, it comes with double stick tape for mounting. Videos are stored locally on the chime using a microSC Card. It’ll rewrite over the older footage once the card is filled up. If the doorbell is hardwire, it will allow you to have 24/7 video recording. I like how it provides q weeks worth of cloud storage for free. Unlike some other video doorbells that require a yearly subscription in order for you to view your video recordings from your mobile device. The doorbell supports Apple HomeKit video, which will store your recordings in your iCloud account. Overall, I’m pleased with all of the features the Aqara G4 Smart Video Doorbell has to offer.

HomeKit Secure Video Doorbell
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been looking for a doorbell that uses HomeKit Secure Video, and this meets that need and many more. While I’m using this with Apple Home, it is compatible with other ecosystems as well, meaning you aren’t locking yourself into just one. It was easy to set up and install. I really like the separate chime, and the nice looking design of the doorbell. I like that you can hard wire it with your existing doorbell or use it with batteries. The battery powering is essential for where I have it placed. Face recognition happens locally, and can be used with automations. For example, if a face isn’t recognized and it is after a certain hour, turn a light on inside the house. The video is high quality as 1080p and clear in most cases. Pairing it with a smart outdoor light helps to keep clearer video at night, but even so night time video is good. Easy to recommend this doorbell. It is a good value for a device that does local processing, HomeKit Secure Video, and multiple power options.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this after seeing positive reviews and that it works with AppleHome. The entire thing quit working after two weeks. It was replaced with warranty but now I have to keep my Best Buy membership to keep the current warranty.

Tons of technology packed in this welcoming device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Aqara G4 should be awarded product of the year! This doorbell is all about its user(s) and in my opinion is an improvement over what's mostly on the market now (competitors). Most important topic Video Storage Costs: Cloud storage from Aqara is completely free. You have 1 week or 7 days to review and capture a recording. I think this is plenty of time. The best part is the chime repeater works as a local storage hub. All you need is a microSD card (later explained) which is my preferred method as local storage is always safer and the way to go. When first looking at the camera, I love that it's black, large and easy. The big doorbell button just makes sense. It welcomes anyone at your door to push it. The way it should be! Tons of technology packed in this welcoming device! From face recognition, 2 way talk, voice changing tech, custom ringtones, alerts, and the list goes on. Features that make sense when it comes to doorbell technology and keeping you and your family safe from just beyond your front door. The quality of the camera is clear and colors are vibrant. While only 1080p it is made up by the wide angle lens with a 162 degree field of view. Night vision is sufficient and comparable to other brands in the industry. The Aqara app is useful. I have other Aqara products and enjoy that I can access everything in one place flawlessly. A great user friendly app that is comparable to the competition yet also has a few extra perks (depends on the Aqara device). The doorbell repeater is an included option that needs to be plugged in. Aqara states it can be powered via a power bank if need be during power outage issues. I have an existing wired system that I use for my chime. I still use the repeater however as it is the local memory storage hub with a microSD card slot. Aqara is smart! An SD card is not included and is understandable. The biggest flaw is that this device is on the larger side. However, this is also due to the fact that it holds 6AA batteries. While I have mine hard wired into my existing doorbell I still have the batteries installed (just in case). Now I have had many battery powered doorbell cameras but never that hold 6 AAs typically 2 to 4 which usually always lasted a month to 3 month depending on the brand/model. Time will tell with the Aqara but I believe the extra juice will last the extra mile. Overall a po

This Doorbell Aims for the Mid Range
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $119 this device is a value but there are a few things missing. First to discuss install. This unit is easy to install with limited tools. It took me about 20 minutes to set up with no real issues. I don’t want to label this good and bad so I’ll simply say what is included and what may be missing va other video doorbells. The first thing is there is no monthly fees for things such as cloud storage, facial recognition and alerts. The cloud storage is nice so you don’t have to manage a local device. I found the facial recognition to be accurate which is good as well. So what is kissing? Package detection would be nice to have. There is also no motion zones so you get motion outside the area you may be interested. 24/7 recording is available but only if the unit is hardwired. So you get some real nice perks but also missing some features that others may have. Again for $120 it may be easy to overlook some of these items. Overall I have been happy with this unit and would recommend it.
