Waste of money

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a very small community and what there is, is very toxic. The game was never fully developed.

Unplayable on official.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In Beta game was a blast except for the updates 3 times a day.... now that its released they down for about 1 update a day. Here is the problem now..... If you want to play and have tech support you cant play on a"legacy" server so that forces everyone to play on a official. Well at launch and for the next month or so the servers were all full. So you can even get in, now only weekends are full so dont plan on playing then. The big kicker now is they limit the number of tamed dinos a server can have.... the personal tame limit is like 600 when the server tame limit is like 4000. what does this mean? well it means that like 5-6 people on a 70 person server can cap it out and they did. I have around 10 dinos.... i went to tame more and it wont let me because other people have 400+ so now everyone on server (ragnarok 71) is stuck doing nothing. and tons of people tryin to transfer so the last few new servers are capping. so unless you can play on a private server with friends i wouldnt play this if they paid me.

Ark: Greed Evolved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took an Early Access game, full of bugs out of Early Access to justify paid DLC and an absurd price hike. I purchased ARK about a year ago, on sale for about 13 bucks. This was before Wildcard studios released Scorched Earth, a paid DLC while the game was still in Early Access. Lucky for them, because I wouldn't have given wildcard studios a dime after that. For the money I spent, I had a pretty good time playing on a dedicated private server with friends. The game had a lot of bugs (still does) but I felt the developer was doing a decent job pushing updates. I liked the game enough that I was willing to give the developers more money once the game come out to expand the experience. Then Scorched Earth happened. Instead of fixing bugs, improving stability, or pushing quality updates, etc; Wildcard was building maps to sell to people instead of finishing the game. I guess it could be worse, at least they aren't using loot boxes to push micro-transactions.... yet. Now the game is "finished" and costs 60 bucks (it was $30-35 when in early access) and it's still a buggy mess. Even worse is they announced a season pass with the first DLC coming out in just a month after Ark's retail release which again shows they spent more time on DLC then finishing the actual game. Wildcard Studios got greedy and lost my business and the business of all my friends. If they would have gone about DLC in a way that wasn't so insulting, I would of happily shown my support through buying their DLCs. If you must experience this game for yourself, wait for a price cut. I wouldn't pay more than $20. Though I would suggest that you give your hard earned cash to a more deserving developer.

Can't update to play
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son was so excited to get this game. We have spent 3 days trying to get it to download on the Xbox One S. Finally figured out how to download the game. Then, it says it needs to download the update in order to play. Every time we try to to install the update, it freezes and ends up erasing the whole game download. Seems like (after reading lots of reviews) this game is notorious for this kind of issue. NOT worth it. My son is so disappointed.

Do not buy for Xbox One!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The xbox one barely is able to keep up with the graphics in the game, it constantly crashes when being killed in game from in-game creatures. And the raining in world will drop your frames a tremendous amount. The servers have frquent issues as seen on the Ark Survival Evolved xbox servers forum. And the game lacks any real promise to exceed expectations unless you play the PC version.
