Excellent product. I bought it thinking it had a built in camera but it didn’t. You have to connect an Arlo camera to it.

Awesome ArloBell!!!!
I love my new Arlo doorbell, as another review said if you have arlo camera you have to get this doorbell, it’s awesome! I didn’t expect this to be so cool with lot of features and easy to install. I was thinking of getting a doorbell with camera but due to the direction of wall and my front door, it was hard for me to get a doorbell which would work well. So I decided to get this one which works with my arlo camera. I’ve positioned my arlo camera where I get the best view and have installed doorbell on the sidewall. I had an option to replace existing wired doorbell to work with existing chime or install it as wireless to work on its own with new chime. I installed this in addition to my existing doorbell to check out how well it would work. I’m thrilled with amount of features it has and how well it works. When someone rings the bell, I get a phone call and the full view from my arlo camera. I’m able to communicate and see the person in a much better view compare to if the camera was attached to the doorbell. It also has few prerecorded message so when I get a call, I can quickly send a message “Leave the package outside” my son enjoyed selecting sorry, not interested message. Chime is also working well and looks cool, it has options to select different melodies.
Best part is from the time someone pushes the doorbell, within a sec phone rings. No delay in communication and voice quality is very good.
My home is on main road so vehicle noise is an issue, louder sound from doorbell would help specially when street is busy and noisy. Hopefully new feature would let user setup loudness as everyone's situation is unique.
Overall, I’m very happy with my ArloBell!

I have 10 Arlo cameras. I added the doorbell as an extra layer of security and it works flawlessly. After the doorbell button is pressed, I receive a phone call within seconds and I can talk to the person just like a normal phone call. When the doorbell detects motion, the ring around the button starts to flash which gives the visitor a clue that they are being watched. I have it set to start recording the front door camera as soon as the doorbell button detects motion. There are a ton of features such as a visitor can leave you a voice message.
My only issue was mounting it where the old doorbell use to be. The Arlo doorbell wasn’t wide enough to cover the old hole, so I had to buy a wooden light switch wall plate to cover it. I think a lot of people with stucco exterior walls might have the same problem. I think Arlo should make decorative plate for issues like this. Many aftermarket thermostats have similar plates to cover wall blemishes.

Flawless Doorbell System

I was a previous Ring Doorbell owner but always had Arlo cameras. My Ring doorbell kept malfunctioning and with all the phone support and chimes sent it sill failed to function properly so we decided to try the Arlo Doorbell. I must say this is the best Doorbell we’ve had. Our entire home is a “smart home” so there are many devices connected which requires very high speed internet to function flawlessly. The Arlo Doorbell was very easy to install. It connects to the camera and Arlo chime without failure and I love how it calls my phone when it rings to allow me to speak directly to the visitor clearly and concisely. The fluidity between the phone and camera w/ audio is pleasing. I love this Doorbell. I was already an Arlo camera user so this was a great option. Even if you aren’t an Arlo camera user this Doorbell is easy to use and will make you love the Arlo system as a whole. Oh and it looks great too!

The upsides are that it’s easy to install & set up & use & can make visitors think you’re at home & alert you to someone at the door even if they don’t ring the bell. The downsides are that it’s audio only with motion-detection, though can be paired with a camera for the full range of seeing, hearing & recording. Another downside is that this has to have an Arlo hub to connect with your phone via wifi/cell. You can wire this in to replace a current doorbell or use it separately/in addition to one. Using the free app allows you to choose you level of notifications and be notified on your phone wherever you are...and without signing up for a subscription service.

I have had Arlo cameras since the first generation. I love how easy to setup they are and with them being wireless they can be placed anywhere. I got this because our doorbell quit working and I can pair this with the front door camera and Alexa to announce on all speakers. Easy to replace existing doorbell and mount. The screw that puts the housing on is a bit flimsy and easy to strip. The batteries don’t last long either - like 3-4 months so you have to be careful to replace or no more doorbell. Overall pretty happy with it.

I was very excited when I found out Arlo was coming out with a doorbell as I had been contemplating other devices that performed similar functions, but wanted to stay in the Arlo system I was already using at my home. So I ordered one. The device itself was easy to install as it came with the needed screw driver and connected to the base station without any issue. So how does it perform?
Pressing the button. This seems like something that should be pretty easy to get right, but it's the one thing I'm least impressed about. There isn't much 'give' in the press of the button, which leaves you wondering if you actually rang it. In fact the button doesn't seem to depress much at all. There is a light that circles around the circular ring when pressed, but that is about it. I'm not sure if this is a design issue or just my unit. With that said, it's not a deal breaker for me.
You will want a decent wifi connection for the doorbell and in my case it's about as good as it is for the outside camera that looks at my front door, which isn't the best connection. It does work though, which is ultimately all I need. When pressed, the doorbell rings my phone within about 10 seconds and communicating back and fourth works pretty well. I wish it were quicker, but I blame my wifi more than Arlo for this. Additionally, it allows for the person at the door to leave a message, which then goes to your Arlo App to listen to.
Overall, I'm happy with this doorbell, but it could use some improvements on the software side, which Arlo/Netgear should be able to implement. One MAJOR thing they need to do is allow Amazon's Alexa or Google Home to serve as a doorbell chime. I have no intention of buying the Arlo doorbell chime, especially when I have a house full of smart speakers that are more than capable to serve this role. Arlo/Netgear needs to make that happen, soon.

Arlo makes one of the only tech doorbells that I know of that doesn't require the use of existing doorbell wiring for power. This is useful because my house has no doorbell at all. I already have an Arlo Pro system and adding it to the system was a breeze along with the chime. It looks well, mounts securely and sturdy, and detects motion from a good distance away from the door. This thing has so many features that you can choose to use. The motion detection lights up the doorbell when approached as well as can start recording any of your other cameras as you tell it to. it can also tell the chime to play sounds like dogs barking or people moving around inside the home. Upon the doorbell being pressed, I get a phone call from my "Front Door" and video feed starts. It records the whole conversation with great audio and the accompanying video from the synced camera. Or you can just select a prerecorded message for the doorbell to speak to them. If you reject the call, they can leave a message by pressing the doorbell again.
I've had only one instance so far of the phone call not initiating the video feed correctly. not sure what happened
The only request I guess id have is that they make the speaker in the doorbell a little louder. Prerecorded messages and audio from the call arent quite the volume id like

New to this DIY home Security & a not so much into it now days PC Building & Upgrading enthusiast. Product does an awsome job, Also being paired up with other great Arlo Components. This door bell Performs AWESOME considering the lag & Delay of DSL Internet & Fair Speed Cell phone data transfer, Had to tinker & do some adjustments & settings chamges but got it goingn & finally got used to how messeging & audio to audio & slight video transfers work well enough for a typical home project of success!

First of all, it's an easy installation. Good alternative to regular doorbell replacement and can operate the old installed house bell. I gave a 4 star rating due to the lag time response and volume is not loud enough. Anyhow, it is an awesome add-on to the Arlo security cameras.

Nest and Ring both have doorbells in their smart product lines so I have been anxiously waiting for Arlo to release a doorbell as well. Arlo took a different path with their version of the smart doorbell releasing an audio doorbell rather than a video doorbell. There was a bit of angst in some of the online communities regarding Arlo's decision to release an audio doorbell rather than a video doorbell, but I like the idea. First, already have Arlo cameras at my doors so I don't really need a video doorbell, it would be redundant. Second, by releasing a audio only product they are able to keep teh price down, although it is still a pretty pricey product. Ultimately I think Arlo is aiming this product at existing Arlo customers like me. I ended up purchasing two doorbells and the chime.
Installation was pretty straight forward. I did have an issue getting the app to recognize the doorbell initially but it worked on the third or so try. Once the doorbell is recognized, you select which camera you would like to pair it with and then screw it into the wall. I bought the Chime accessory so I cannot comment on how well it works with existing chimes but that part seems easy enough to set up if you need to.
I purchased my two Arlo doorbells and a chime to replace an existing dumb wireless doorbell system that I think I paid $20 for. The two Arlo doorbells and the chime cost me over $200 so it is a pretty expensive product. The functionality it gives me over the dumb doorbell probably isn't worth the price but I enjoy trying new smart products so I was willing to pay up. The one nice piece of functionality is I can assign a different chime to my front and side doors so I know which door a visitor is at if I am home. It also has a nice led ring that lights up when it detects motion so a visitor can see the doorbell at night. The doorbell button itself does not give the user any feedback, when you press the button there is no click or much movement at all so the visitor may not know whether they pressed the doorbell or not. I also have not gotten the audio messages to work. It is kind of a non issue for me anyway as the camera is recording audio. But this is something I need to look into when I have some time.
If you are an Arlo camera owner and are looking to enhance the functionality of an exiting doorbell you may want to look into the Arlo Doorbell. It is pretty expensive for the functionality it provides but for a tech geek like me it is just another fun toy for my smart home. It also looks much nicer than my existing $20 dumb wireless doorbell. This is evidenced by the trick or treaters at my door on Halloween that I caught on camera commenting that it was the nicest doorbell that they have ever seen.

For the basics this doorbell is pretty good. It installed easily with straight forward walk through nav on my app. It integrated with the rest of my Arlo Pro system nicely. When the doorbell is pressed it rings my phone. I answer it and can see the person and my door from my Arlo camera off to the side pointing down at them. In can share hear the person if they talk to the doorbell. However, they cannot hear me at all. The speaker volume is set to 100% and is extremely low and useless. For me to be heard on the speaker, it has to be drop dead quiet outside (no ambient noise, cars, etc). And even it being quiet outside you would have to bend down and place your ear near the door bell. I live in a quiet suburban neighborhood so not much ambient noise outside anyway. I googled the issue and found countless others complaining the same for several months. Netgear is well aware of the issue and isn't responding to these folks at all. I was hoping an update to the firmware would be available by now but it isn't. Others have replaced there's but the replacements have the same issue. I've had it for four weeks and now it's gonna get dismantled and returned back to BestBuy. I really wanted this to work. But I can't settle on a half baked product. Netgear had a hit with the original Arlo then rushed this out to production to compete with Ring and failed. So disappointed Netgerar.

The Arlo Doorbell is good at detecting motion and reasonable as an intercom, but lacks an integrated camera which means you need to use one of theirs to view the location. As the camera is not integrated, the angle you mount the add on camera is a factor. Also, the Arlo Doorbell need batteries to operate even when connected to a home hardwire for the doorbell chime. when the add on camera is used it works well together, But I highly recommend Arlo looking into a doorbell with an integrated camera and having the whole doorbell and camera work off the home doorbell hardwire.

Installation was a snap. Just pair it up with the base station, and then mount it with the included screws. I think it took longer to gather my drill and bits that it took to mount. I also bought the chime. Plug it into the outlet and pair it to the base station. Set the doorbell to ring the chime and record with my existing front door camera. It also rings my smart phone. When I answer, it starts a video call with the paired camera and doorbell speaker. My only complaint and why I didn’t give all 5 stars, the volume is low on the doorbell speaker even the I have it set to the maximum volume. People have a hard time hearing me.

Doorbell to get with the Arlo Pro camera system

Doorbell was fairly easy to setup (probably a little more difficult to install, but it all depends on where your previous doorbell was located and the space available). Works seamlessly with the Arlo Pro camera system. My only gripe is the motion detection is not adjustable and is fairly sensitive. Our front door is elevated and probably about 40 feet from curb and we still get notifications when larger trucks/SUVs drive by. Wish there was a programmable zone. That's my only ding.
