Everything else is great except that it requires me to pay for a subscription which i wanted to avoid. It does not connect to the base station that i have and i passed the return window so that is slightly disappointing. Otherwise great size and works well. I like the spotlight that turns on at night.

I have been using Arlo cameras since 2016, but my first gen cameras reached End of Life status last fall. I replaced them with this model and have found them adequate. Here are some pros and cons. Pros - I like the increased resolution and the light that can be set to come on when motion is detected. It is also nice to have sound detection. Cons - I do not like having to remove the camera entirely while it charges. It would have been great to instead have a rechargeable battery pack to exchange so I would only have one trip up the ladder. Also, the mount does not allow the camera sufficient movement to always catch the right angle. My biggest gripe, however, is the new software as I was forced to upgrade to an entirely new version for these cameras. To this day, I still cannot get the “home” and “away” functionality to work nor can I get the schedule to work successfully with each “mode”. Unlike the old application, the new application is simply not very intuitive. They do get the job done, but I do feel like Arlo has taken a few steps backward with this implementation.

I bought the Arlo camera and the Blink to see which of the two worked better and the truth is I'm staying with the Arlo since it doesn't use a module and the truth is when you open it on the phone the video activates faster than the Blink and connecting it is much easier and faster and one of the advantages is that it has its own light in terms of battery life it is quite durable but it also has the option of connecting a solar panel

This has been absolutely the best. The setup and installation was an absolute breeze. Video quality, voice chat, spotlight, and battery life are top tier. My cameras been up for about 2 weeks now and the battery life hasn’t even dropped below 60%. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Security system is perfect. We got a lot of bang for our buck, set up was very easy and the video quality is good. Only down side to this is that the battery doesn’t stay charged long.

I wish you didn’t have to pay to use them. They give you a 30 day free trial. I wish it had more mounting brackets. It only allows for straight mounting. No way to mount to the soffits with what is provided.

Love the cameras! They work exactly as I need my outdoor cameras to work. Super long battery life! Great wifi range! Only thing I am not a fan of is the app in terms of setting up the time frames for each camera. It is really confusing ever since the update. The old way of scheduling the cameras was much easier. I am not sure what in the world is going on now so I just have to keep them on all the time, which is annoying for notifications but it is what it is.

These cameras offer a high quality image and reasonably good battery life. The main drawback is the limited swivel of the mount. These cameras would be much easier to place if the mount had a stem that would allow it to move like the solar panels have.

We've had Arlo for almost 5 1/2 years. The clarity and field of view were awesome. My older cameras are finally given out so I got the 2nd Generation Essential and they are just as good. For the money, I won't get anything other than Arlo! Once my sister saw the field of view between Arlo and another brand, she switched to Arlo also and is ecstatic!

Love the product, these have sound which is an extra bonus. Reason I didn’t give this a 5 star is because we are having an issue with one of the cameras glitching which we are trying to figure out. Only other negative I don’t like compared to the ones we purchased years ago is they require a subscription now.

Picture is great and sound is good my biggest issue is the battery drains quickly in higher traffic area. We have dogs and I can’t stop it from recording the dogs in backyard no matter how low I set sensitivity

They seem to be good cameras. We just updated our earlier model. One of the two cameras wouldnt charge or if it would it would last for maybe 3 days. Arlo has no customer support phone number. Ended up doing the chat for assistance. They sent me a link showing how to reset it. Seemed to work.

I am happy with the way the cameras work. They are Great cameras and work great. The only problem is that you cant use them without paying for a subscription.

The cameras are great. The reason for 4 stars is due to battery drainage quickly.

Cameras are great.Install and setup was easy. The new Arlo app that allows you to control the cameras is not really intuitive but I worked my way through it.
