So far I have been very pleased with my new Arlo Essential pan/tilt security camera. There is a lot to like about this camera. First and foremost is the ease of setup. Using the Arlo app, all you have to do is click the add device icon and select "pan tilt" camera. The app finds the camera and connects to it. It runs a firmware update, then you are good to go. It is a very easy process.
The default settings of the Arlo camera is to track moving objects. It is kind of cool to see it moving around as you walk around it. I quickly shut after a few minutes as it was getting kind of annoying. Depending on an individuals needs and placement is where this can be very handy. I have the camera in my dog's room and use it to keep an eye on them when I am not home.
The image quality is very good. I have good wifi signal strengh where I keep the camera, so I am able to use maximum resolution settings with no issues. The playback image is also very good and only about a 2 second delay. The audio playback from the camera is also very good and very clear.
Overall, I feel that this camera is perfect for keeping an eye on anything in your home with full articulation. The image and audio quality is very good and playback is a breeze. All of this paired with an improved Arlo app makes this an easy purchase for anyone looking for an indoor security camera.

I own a few different outdoor cameras, but I liked that this was an internal camera that had detection features, pan, and tilt along with the ability to record sound.
A few of the really good items. The picture is crisp and clear. You can zoom and rotate the camera manually. While there is some lag, it's not too bad. I like that it records as long as you have a subscription and the camera is "armed", it seems to record for as long as there is an item in view. It records audio and sends me an alert when there is an issue.
I suspected that since it could record sound, it would also be able to "look around" when it hears sound while armed, but this is not the case. So you need to make sure your camera is setup in an area where it's normal position can see everything.
Another key feature that was concerning was it's inability to swivel back around when an item moves outside of its range of view. It seems that this camera thinks the item is no longer within view when this occurs, which was highly disappointing. So I say again, make sure the camera is in a location that will require minimal twisting.
Finally, you must have a subscription. There is no memory card option to record and watch back, so if you don't pay, you have very limited options to access when you aren't home. You can still access a live feed, but you will need to screen capture. Otherwise, you need to purchase the plan for $8.
It's not bad, but takes some effort to best know how to use it, which is certainly not the position you want to be in if you ever need it.

Great camera for home and pets — clear 2K video, easy to control through the app, and smoothly tracks movement. It reacts well to sound and motion, and the privacy shutter is a nice touch. Only downside — some features require a subscription.

This is by far one of the coolest Arlo cameras that I own. And I own at least 10 of their cameras. Three different models but again this swivel tilt camera beats them all.
Of course, pairing it with the Arlo hub on my app took a few minutes, but after it synced, I was up and running
It’s a little bigger than I thought it would be, but we decided to put it on the fireplace mantle and disguise it with two non-lit candles.
The purpose for me getting this camera was to spy on my dog when we are not home.
But I will say when we are not home, including the dog, I like to peek in to make sure nothing has changed so it gives me a sense of Security to be able to look around parts of my house without even being there.
Listening in is easy tapping to talk is also very easy and I’m moving the camera around. Reminds me of playing a video game.
I also choose to pinch in Zoom to better see certain things.
The only drawback was my dog did not like it moving or talking and not being able to get to it so for a while, she barked at it.

With all these home security cameras on the market, I think it's really important to showcase ones like this almost as being a "necessity" if you plan on getting a surveillance system in your place.
Pretty much all camera systems will have a "main" camera that is stationary and probably to be used in the living room or someplace large/heavily frequented. What they should be saying is that having the "main" camera in your setup should be a pan and tilt one like this. They offer way more flexibility within the system you use and can be easily used to show case your place in real time.
I think most people, i.e. condo/apartment dwellers, should be fine with a stationary camera since the layout of these types of places are somewhat small. However, having a pan and tilt greatly increases your viewing area and minimizes the need for overlap or blind spots. I have this setup currently in my condo and it works great. I'm able to get the main living room, hallway as well as a couple other entry points in camera range without the need of adding more cameras.
If you are going with a security system, it's best to get one that's all branded the same since Arlo is a subscription based fee on it. Makes things a little easier both for compatibility and keeping per month pricing at a minimum.

This Arlo Essential Pan Tilt camera is fantastic for indoor use. The 2K video quality is sharp, but what I truly love is the Pan & Tilt function; I can easily rotate the camera from the app to see every corner of the room. The movement is smooth and quick. Plus, the Privacy Mode that turns the camera off with a single tap gives me great peace of mind. Setup was straightforward. Highly recommended if you are looking for an indoor camera with full coverage!

Works well this camera is great for keeping an eye on pets with motion tracking and night vision. The camera works just fine without the subscription but it does require a subscription to have smart person/animal detection.

This is a wonderful security camera. It turns on it's own. I've used other Arlo products, so it's quite simple to setup and don't need much instructions. Everything can be managed in one app. Very convenient!

The essentials pan and tilt integrates perfectly with my Arlo pro 2 system. The cameras pan and track anything moving in its range of view, always keeping things in view. They can easily be turned on or off for privacy too. Love these new additions to our cameras!

This camera set up easily. It has pan tilt which follows you when triggered. The downside is arlo monitoring plans which have gotten expensive compared to ring. Wish it had small battery inside to allow for power interruption. The indoor model has a shorter cord than the outside version.
Overall an improvement from a fixed camera.

I already owned Arlo cameras (few years old) and I like them, but this new technology is just amazing. The picture, the wide view angles the palm and tilt features are just fantastic. I got them at a discount price and that makes them even better.
