The sensitivity to animals is not realistic as it is with my Nest. Letting the dog out should not trigger an alert! The software updates have had multiple issues and geofencing had had to be re enabled almost every time Apple updates their IOS. Save your time and money and look for another solution!

I only had it for a week and now I have an experience paper wait. Still waiting for Arlo to get back to me to help with the situation.

It loads nicely into the APP, It plays nicely with Alexa. It produces a low carbon footprint, in fact, I haven't seen any footprint of any kind.

We bought the camera 3 months ago and I have had to take them down and charge them 4 different times. I would not buy them again because they do not hold a charge

Thank you for taking the time to share your Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera review. Arlo Essential Spotlight camera batteries last approximately 3–6 months with average use. Average use assumes that you are using Optimized or Best Battery Life video settings and that your cameras record for approximately five minutes per day.
The following environmental factors also reduce battery life:
Temperatures below 32°F (0°C)
Low-light environments that require infrared sensors to work harder
Weak connection to the base station (if connected to one) caused by distance, WiFi interference, or solid obstructions between camera and base station (if connected to one)

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older arlo pro that records video on a usb thumb drive and you can see the videos on the app. I thought this camera would do the same, I was wrong. Unfortunately, I did not research this until the 'free' cloud service ran out (of course, the trial is longer than the return period. Coincidental?). You need the cloud service to be able to see the recorded videos on the app which reduces the appeal of this camera. Others out there at least give you a few days free. Arlo has changed their policy, which is most unfortunate. I can not recommend this or any other arlo camera that requires the cloud service, go elsewhere.

I use it inside and I like how it has a light for dark environments. I also like how it’s able to detect humans, animals, and objects.

After they pick them up, we can just delete them.
