I love this camera. It's located at my front door of the warehouse and the camera is so clear. We get notified of movement immediately. Great product

I have had this video camera for a week now. We got it to for amazon prime garage delivery. Unfortunately, that has not been what it was used for. After a week of having it, I went golfing without telling my wife. 5 minutes later I got a text.. "oh so your golfing and not going to stay for the appointment with AT&T"... this product is too good. It sees everything. The camera notifies you on the app within 30 seconds. Husband be aware make sure you go out the side door if you are going to sneak a round in.

The camera seems to be of high quality. However, batteries fail over time and I am concerned that the battery cannot be replaced when it doe fail. Also, it is nice to have a built-in light, but the light is not that bright and doesn't illuminate the field of vision very far. This is especially a weakness if a person is wearing dark clothing. I would recommend installing a flood light with motion a sensor.

I had purchased this camera so I can keep an eye on my vehicle due to theft reasons, and I’m completely blown away at the how amazing the camera is. Both the video and audio quality are very impressive the wide viewing angle is great and the spotlight that is on there illuminates a good amount as well I look forward to seeing how long the battery life lasts though I don’t think I’ll be disappointed. I will most certainly recommend this camera and look forward to using their other devices in the future

My first security camera, and I love it! I get to see everything that's going on in my front yard in HD. Super easy to set up through the Arlo app, and easy to install. The best thing is that it runs off a rechargeable battery so you can install it anywhere without having to worry about a power supply. Every time the camera senses movement, it records and archives that moment, so you don't have to go through hours of video to see what's going on, and alerts you that something was recorded. It can also distinguish between people, animals, and motion so you know what it's capturing. It's fun to see the neighborhood animals go through your yard at night! It has a siren to scare people away, and a microphone so that you can speak to people through the camera. Also has a very wide view so I can pretty much see my whole yard. The one thing I'm scratching my head over a little bit is that it says "weather resistant" but it also says don't get the camera wet. Those two statements seem a little inconsistent. I guess we'll see how it holds up. Overall, nothing but satisfied with this camera!

Great picture quality. Let’s you know if the object is a car , person or animal. Love the spotlight feature. Very reasonable price.

Video quality is great, audio quality is clear, the set up is easy no holes to be drilled, batteries are dependable. Just make sure you have extra to rotate or do not for get to charge but cameras do notify you when charge is low. Simple to hook up. Quality of video does depend on settings and internet quality. I upgraded my internet and router, which contributed to higher quality video in real time.

Excellent image quality & easy setup... would like to see a lower profile but hopefully the longer battery life makes up for the bulky look

Pros: great image quality, spotlight can be toggled on/off, mounting bracket provides different angles to choose from to make location choices better, battery does seem to be holding up pretty well Cons: attachment point for mounting bracket on the camera is awkward to tighten once the bracket is in place (on a wall), getting it to initially connect was very cumbersome, no distinctive notification sound for separate cameras I wish that the app had the ability to select device by device which to get notifications from. I have 3 Arlo cameras inside my home, an Arlo doorbell, and this XL outside. I certainly don't need my indoor cameras notifying me all day long each time I shift my weight at my desk when I'm home, but I would like to know when there is motion 10 feet from my front door at any time of day or night. Selective notifications would be a really great upgrade. The camera itself was awkward to get to connect initially, and while simple to install the bracket to the wall, getting the camera onto the bracket once that was on the wall is a bit of a pain so I'm concerned about when I'll have to recharge the battery. However it does appear that the battery life is very long, so I should only have to do that on rare occasions. The picture really is super clear and it picks up sound well too. I would have liked a slightly better angle of view, but it is not bad at all. I do really like too that you can turn off the spotlight so it isn't going off all the time potentially further draining the battery or giving away the location of the device and potentially inviting vandalism.

Overall, the Arlo XL Wireless Camera is great. It's an excellent quality camera in a compact package with relatively easy to use features. Pros: - High resolution video quality - Rechargeable, long-lasting battery - Relatively easy app - Precise identification types (animal, person, etc.) - Real-time alerts Cons: - Inability to control the light from turning on automatically - Tricky setup (had to put mesh Wi-Fi system in to 2.4ghz mode) - No way to time/date stamp videos – only in filename (this is a deal breaker for me) - Slow to connect to live feed compared with other Wi-Fi cameras in household - The "Full Screen" icon and the "Alarm/Call 911" icons are very close together, even on tablet; a small irritation that could easily be fixed with a software update. I placed the Arlo XL Spotlight camera in my basement because, living in the upper midwest, it's getting colder and mice are finding ways inside the house. I was amazed at how well the Arlo camera captured the video and was able to recognize it as an animal in the humane trap & release box we have. Overall, it's a great camera with a decent app and features.

The Arlo Essential XL is a fantastic camera solution. The camera resolution and amazing battery life make it perfect for placement locations that are hard to reach. I bought one and liked it so much I bought two more to replace other cameras I already had.

Easy to set up. Crisp picture. Good field of view.

Shocked how much better the picture is on this camera. We have several that are a few years old and one got hit by hail and destroyed so I bought this one to replace. The picture is so much better plus the much longer battery life that I think it is time to upgrade the entire system.

Camera image quality is excellent during day, night time is pretty good. Audio quality was surprisingly good. Setup easy and quick. Love that it’s not a magnetic connection, just feels more secure it not being magnetic. Night video is good, but you lose clarity once you zoom in. The Arlo app works as intended, no delay currently.

This camera was very easy to set up! Just download the app, connect to your 2.4Ghz wifi, sync your camera and mount it! Picture quality is great and sound is clear. Arlo states that xl essential battery life lasts one year with a full charge. I fully charged mine 6 days ago and it at 50% now. I guess it has a lot to do with where you mount it. I mounted mine in a high traffic area so it’s constantly coming on. All in all I think it’s a great buy so far we’ll see in the long run.

This camera works great for our back yard. We wanted an eye on our back yard but our base station sits in one of the front rooms of our house so we knew we would be unable to use the same cameras we had on the front of our house. This camera works great for our needs. This camera easily connected to our Gen 1 Google WiFi and the extended battery life is wonderful; no expensive Arlo solar panel. We are very happy, as usual, with this Arlo product.

This camera installed easily, has good resolution, good audio. First time I have tried an Arlo camera without a removable battery (where I can have a spare one charged and ready) but since I bought the XL version the battery should go many months without a recharge

Battery does not last a long time, it said in description up to one year for this essential xl, ha, yea , only if it’s on the side of your house where there’s no movement (ever) , I have it in front of the house and 24 % gone in 2.5 weeks. with that said I do like the light that comes on at night when there is movement and that it tells me if it was a person, vehicle or animal , ordered a solar charger for it . Otherwise, I like arlo , have arlo pro and pro 2. Enjoy
