Good camera for the price - needed camera for additional coverage

Great camera with nice features. Resolution is good and I like the spotlight/voice applications. i added the solar panel for longer battery life which helps a lot. App install for Android was a challenge but tech support helped. Very satisfied overall.

The camera is very powerful, great light and works well in the dark. The extended battery life was a key factor for this purchase, it is for a vacation home. It says it will last a year. I will wait and see.

I like the camera. The picture is clear and it has a wide viewing area. I wish it had a camera at the bottom to see who is at my door. Get the solar charger so you don't have to charge it. The battery maintains a full charge even on a cloudy day.

Mounted high in a tree in my backyard to watch the back of my house and driveway. Good motion notifications. Easily sees deer at night within 25 feet of camera. Wish I could set a motion re-trigger delay. Battery at 95% after about a month of outdoor use in cold weather, with daily motion detection.

Added this XL camera to my current system duebto larger battery. So far it is great, with the spotlight feature that turns ons at night to help vapture movement in color. It is bigger andbheavier that more camera duebto the larger battery. Hopefully it will last close to a year before recharging.

I bought 2 Essential XL cameras, for the front and back of my house. I found them easy to set up and quick to start using. The iPhone/iPad apps for configuring the cameras and viewing videos work well, although I would ideally prefer a little more flexibility in setting up alerts based on the time of day and target zones. The cameras show sharp images, although to be sharp enough to read license plates would require getting one of the higher-resolution Arlo cameras. The cameras work well with the motion-detector floodlights that I have installed. The flood lights provide lots of light for viewing at night, and that allows turning off the cameras' spotlights and thereby saving battery life.

Great view and quality camera! It was easy to install and I love how you can rotate the view without having to relocate it.

So far so good. I've had it for over a month and it's been working great. Spotlight makes a big difference and love the night vision in color. We'll see how the battery does in a couple months, it's supposed to last up to a year, but with so much motion going on i doubt it will. Still love it!

Overall a GREAT product. We purchased the regular and XL. We placed the XL in our backyard, because we wanted a time lapse of our 5 month home building construction. XL states the charge will last 1 year. NOPE! 4 weeks. We placed the regular Arlo camera at our front door. It’s states 6 month charge, not even close. With regular/normal in and out activity of a family of 2 adults, one toddler, twice a week Amazon packages and daily mail, the charge lasted 3 weeks. In short, the camera is excellent quality, clear crisp sounds and wire free!! It’s easy to remove, and only takes 2 hours to fully recharge. The In accuracy in how long charge last is definitely misleading. We travel for a month at a time, so disappointing that we won’t have eyes on the home the entire time away. For now, in time of COVID-19, meaning no travel for our family, we will have time to adjust settings and see which gives us longer charge. I would give a straight 5 stars if not for the misleading info regarding charge life.

The Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera is easy to install, wire-free, performs consistently, and its app is very user-friendly; it is a great choice to keep an eye on your house and check in with your pet. Very happy with this product :)

The camera is well made, looks good and easy to set up from start to finish. The image is HD and looks great. All that said I have it at my front door, I notice if I approach the door fast and don't stand still, the image is blurry in terms of being able to identify the persons face. When you try to find a clear image to take a still pic of the video, it's likely you may or may not find a good clear one of the persons face. These cameras may need more ability to record motion. Don't get me wrong the video is of great quality and you see it all but I fear if I have a need for to put a mug shot on the news, it will may not work out unless he pauses and looks around. If he walks up fast and kicks the door in, the video will be very clear but his face likely just enough distorted that it may be an issue. Or it may be good enough. I wonder if the 4k camera handles motion better or if it's all the same.

Great solution for my garage port. Paired effortlessly with my existing Arlo system. Battery life seems solid so far.

Camera was easy to set-up and mount. Picture quality in low light environment even without the spotlight is excellent.

Terrific image quality and function. I have five cameras, and all work well with an Arlo solar charger. Battery life here in WI is okay @ 1.5-2yrs.

Addition to my home security system. Like all Arlo products this camera was easy to setup and has great video. Can already tell battery last longer than expected. Located in a high traffic area. Will be adding another.

The camera took less than five minutes to set up and I would like to add more around the rest of my house! I bought the solar charging panel on another website so I never have to worry about climbing a ladder.

I just bought this camera and it works great! It has alerting, zoning and voice features at a very great price! The feature I like the most is it does not require any additional hub to manage. Works effortlessly!
