This is my fouth Arlo cam as I was impressed with the first 3 arlo cam's and base station...I added the Arlo security cam kit as an addtion to my existing security POWERED OUTLET cam's...the setup was EASY and took about 10mins including unpacking everything...MOUNTING (the 3 set Arlo I got had 2 screw in mounts and 3 magnetic mounts which work GREAT ) the cam's took the longest because I wanted them facing/viewing a certain way (thats me)...per the instructions you do need the cam's to be facing a certain way to have cam's work as they should with MOTION DETECTION and avoid recording DELAY...setting up app with the RULES and MODES for cam's was easy since I have setup other cam's before and the APP works GREAT ( I can have all 4 Arlo cams viewing live stream at the same time with the app and view full screen on one cam and go back to view another cam full screen without having any issues..I do have 200mbps internet connection which helps but I can also do this with app when I'm using my celluar connection)...the base station is in a central location and ALL 4 Cams get FULL STRENGTH on wireless icon ( furthess cam is about 100ft away) and I have had cams recording for 35secs PER motion detection & video set to Optimize and BATTERIES still show FULLY CHARGED for over the last month...I am only using the free cloud storage that comes with the set since I already have main powered outlet cam's handling all the other RECORDINGS (again the Arlo set is secondary to my MAIN HD security cams)..as far as Arlo cams not having AUDIO that again is ok since my MAIN HD cams record AUDIO and have two way speakers..I'm not worry about BATTERIES as they look to last 4 to 6mnths as advertized and you will pay for power with plugged in Cams any where from $20 to $30 per cam each year so either way your paying for electricity or BATTERIES but the trade off FOR WIRELESS and being able to MOUNT ALMOST ANY WHERE is WORTH it !!!!!! For the PRICE any the QUALITY THIS ARLO set is worth it as a secondary OPTION to an EXISTING SECURITY SYSTEM..DEFINITELY RECOMMEND...

This replaced my Netgear VueZone system/cameras. The Arlo cameras are significantly better than the VueZone cameras. Clearer image, larger image area, and real night time imaging are all very good. The software allows you to select sensitivity to capturing movement, the length of recording time, or select capture image only. Movement/video alerts sent to your email and watching live video on your smart phone/tablet or computer are also features. These cameras do not record sound or provide for live communication between you and camera and for that I could only give it 4 stars...if I could I would actually give it 4 1/2 stars. Another huge plus is the cameras operate with your wi-fi and does not need to be hard wired to a network and does not require to be connected to a power source - uses lithium batteries.

Camera takes nice video easy to install only drawback is when Arlo updates the system for the router or the app on the phone You may lose the feeds, cameras are off-line or the system is off-line and if you are using these at your vacation home thousands of miles away your screwed, you'll have to find somebody to reset the system, if arlo does not Update the system you can count on the cameras, otherwise you cannot count on Arlo.

I have one on the front of my house...covers the entire front yard and street. Multiple configurations to set motion sensitivity depending on the type of activity you want to record. Have it set around 85% sensitivity during daylight then crank it up for night. Very reliable. And take all of the battery drain reviews with a grain of salt. I've had it for 4 months now, average 40 - 50 10 second clips a day, 7 days a week and batteries are at 65%. I just ordered another add-on camera for the back yard for complete coverage. Great app too. Highly recommend.

I am very happy with cameras . I have 5 and I love the feeling of being around my house at all times .the only thing is the battery use , but that's really not that bad. I do recommend buying rechargeable battery's it's cheaper and playing with motion and time settings .

This is my 3rd camera for my Arlo system. Very flexible....wireless allows for moving and repositioning if necessary. Plan to add a 4th camera soon. Batteries consistently last 5 or 6 months. Highly recommend.

I purchased a four pack and then added this fifth camera more recently. I use them to monitor a construction site. I also own Dropcam/Nestcam, DLink and Axis cameras. Each has strengths and weaknesses. These Arlo cameras excell at flexibility in deployment. No wires at all. They are easy to place and relocate inside or out. The mobile (iOS) application is pretty good. Cloud storage for up to five cameras is free. Resolution is decent/ok at 720P. Night vision is ok at short range. Battery life has been much better than I expected, but I have not yet used them during the winter when batteries will be taxed greatly by the cold weather. My first 4-pack had a defective base unit and support was not very helpful. I returned it to Best Buy with no trouble at all. The replacement unit I picked up has worked just fine. Note there is no audio on these cameras and they only record after motion is detected. Motion detection is best on objects passing across the field of view...rather than toward or away from the camera. They work well for live monitoring over short lengths of time. Rules and modes are very flexible, but could be a bit tricky to figure out for many people. I've almost settled on (resigned myself to) a multivendor approach to surveillance using different systems in different places to leverage the strengths and mitigate the weaknesses inherent in each system.

Pros: The ARLO System by Net Gear is a pretty solid system, if you have broadband wireless. The system sets up easily, and allows for a lot of customization of the parameters. The video clips are stored online, so you can access them via the net, or through a smart phone app. It also sends text messages when the cameras are triggered, Itt also lets someone set up the system without having to string wires all over the place. The batteries last anywhere from 3-8 months in the cameras. Cons: It can be a bit tricky to get the hang of how the unit works. The basestation sometimes needs to be manually reset, which you cannot do when you are not at home. This usually happens after a power outage. There is a delay of a few seconds from when the motion detection system is triggered, and the camera sends the feed to the basestation. Every once in a while, you will have to re-sync the cameras to the base station. Verdict: The ARLO from Net Gear system is a solid, reliable video security system. I have had mine for over 4 years, and have just added two extra cameras to the system (total of 4). I would definitely recommend this to someone who needs a video surveillance system.

Love the ease of mounting the cameras and hookup to wifi is a breeze. One camera is already down to two bars on the power bar. Might have left it on somehow. Basic plan only stores 7 days of pictures, even though you have 1 GB of cloud storage. Why not keep all pictures until the 1 GB is full? Or allow data to be stored locally? This is the worst part of this system. System will send email alerts when motion is detected, but one email every half hour would be enough, not every 10 seconds when something is going on. That is overload.

Great quality video but make sure it is not too far from your wireless router or it will lag sometimes when watching live. I like the fact there are no wires and super easy installation. And you can have up to 5 and see all cameras on your phone. Great product! I would recommend having backup batteries. If you use the best video quality the batteries do tend to run down fairly quickly.

This my 5th camera and I would not have added it to my system if I didn't like the performance. The camera is durable and provides good quality videos. It is extremely easy to set up, synch, and install. As noted by others there is no sound and there maybe somewhat of an issue with battery life. Regardless, as an inexpensive alternative to expensive hardwired systems, this particular camera is hard to beat.

This camera system is much more than I expected. Let's lost pros and cons. Pros 100% wire free Battery life is excellent on max mode Captures motion and records within a second or two Magnetic mounts make it so you can mount just about anywhere Monitor for FREE from iOS or android Free 7 days worth of recordings Expandable system Push notifications are great! Night vision is excellent Good overall image quality Despite other reviewers, you CAN record longer than 10 seconds. App lets you control the system Easy to connect cameras to base station My favorite: YOU CAN NOW USE IFTTT TO CONTROL COMPATIBLE DEVICES! Arlo triggers ifttt recipe to automate devices. Eg..motion triggered = turn lights on. Numerous recipes to choose from. Cons No audio. But this is clearly expressed If you're looking for an affordable wire free solution then pick this system up! I'm ready to add more cameras to my 2 camera system.

I liked my first camera so much I got another. It was easy to set up and add the camera. I like getting alerts when someone's in my driveway & seeing who it is. Just wish there wasn't the few second (about 8 sec) delay before it detects motion. I set it to as sensitive as it'll get & there's still too much of a delay. Also wish there was sound. Besides that it's a great camera & I'll probably add another one.

Very quick setup and easy to operate. The menus for the web and mobile app are clear and concise and you have a number of recording options. The only negative I can mention is the battery life for cameras that are not close to the base station or have limited wifi signal. I have one camera outside and it works seamlessly. I have replaced the batteries twice but have not had to for the indoor cameras. This is due to the weakened wifi signal and this camera gets the most traffic and does the most recording. This however is not an issue as the batteries are quick and easy to replace and it allowed me to place cameras in areas where I would not have been able to install wired cameras and power etc.

Arlo wireless is a great security system. I did my research before investing in such a product and although I Did make two separate trips to Best Buy to purchase this product I am very happy that I did so. The only downfall to the Arlo security system is the battery usage. Be sure to set your devices only record when needed because the batteries are very expensive. 100% satisfied. We had some neighborhood kids break into our yard while we were away are located and even the Borough Police Department officer that responded to our call inquired what kind of system we had and where it was purchased because it was so convenient and had such a great picture.

Great picture. Easy to set up. Reasonablely priced. Wish the camera had audio and didn't have a router that has to be plugged in. The app for scheduling is a bit touchy. I now just manually turn on or off. Small inconvenience for having an outdoor waterproof battery operated camera.
