    Useful, But Hard to Set Up

    Full disclosure, I bought this on sale significantly discounted. It looked like a really useful addition to the Arlo cameras. Once set up, the lights work well, and let me record in color at night (once the light goes on). The big problem is that the lights don't talk directly with the Arlo WiFi controller; they use a separate 'hub' (zigbee, bluetooth, proprietary? it's not specified). The hub is supposed to be able to connect to several lights, but it's range is limited and getting the lights to pair with the hub required multiple attempts. Finally got it to work by only powering one light at a time until they all paired. Even then the reporting is spotty. Be prepared to buy a hub for each light you deploy! Until they get it working more seamlessly, I would look at other options.

    I returned my item. I have a middle size back yard so I placed the flood light on the side where I didn't have an Arlo camera. The other side of my yard I had a camera and a normal back pouch light. Since I had the regular pouch light and the Arlo flood light on the other side, the flood light would not work properly. Since the flood light was facing the pouch light, the flood light would come on. I even moved the flood light over a lil, and it still would not come on. If seem as if the flood light only works it your back yard is completely light free. I guess I could have just not use the regular pouch light and got another Arlo flood light, but at that time the lights just came out and it was expensive. Maybe Arlo fixed the problem by now.

    Full disclosure, I bought this on sale significantly discounted as part of a package/add on deal. I was hoping to augment the Arlo cameras with a nightlight for color recording. It was difficult to get the add on units to pair with the hub (don't know why Arlo couldn't have just connected back to the camera base station). The required hub supports only a small distance (maybe 30-50ft) between the hub and the light. In any case, I had to add a second hub to get coverage and to get three lights to connect. And then the reporting is spotty. Deeply discounted as a package, it's not a bad deal. Otherwise until they get it working more seamlessly, I would look at other options.

    still charging battery

    This is a decent light I guess. Has a few hiccups which I understand but what I don't understand how long it is taking me to charge the battery. My battery indicated it was low yesterday which it shouldn't have been but all my arlo products are like that. They run out of juice quick long before the 6 month period and I have the cameras set on the battery saver setting. The good thing about my arlo pro security cameras is that the battery charges within the hour of me plugging it in but my light battery has been charging since around 8 a.m yesterday and is at only 40% charged at 7a.m this morning. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyway along with the light not being as bright as I thought and this battery charging problem I cannot recommend this product.

    I got this last May and just now hung them

    Because of the storms last summer we couldn’t hang them because of needed construction repairs and we just now hung them last weekend... one of the security lights won’t work and the cable that charges it doesn’t work either... also I only received 2 batteries in my package... the one light that works does pretty good though, but very expensive when the other 1/2 of the package doesn’t work... would have given a 5 star if everything worked, I would like a replacement of the defective light and cord... they’re brand new!!!

    I couldn't get the light bridge to connect

    I couldn't get the product to work on my network. There a bridge you need to setup, that wouldn't connect to my wireless router for some reason. There doesn't seem to be a way at this point for a manual setup. It's all done through the Arlo app. After looking at reviews on some other sites, I'm not the only person having this issue. It seems to have something to do with your router security. It's probably a good product is you can get the bridge to work. But you may want to review some of the support FAQs on the Arlo site
