Please be prepared to use an IT installer to set it up. Not for your average IT homeowner. Video quality is good. Sound is average but interaction when you’re away from the home has a long delay difficult to talk to someone. Be prepared to hardwire each camera batteries do not last that long.

I don’t really have any issues with the system as it is easy to use and records a quality video. Cameras are easy to setup and stay connected pretty well.

I previous had the Arlo Pro cameras. I thought those batteries drained fast but compared to the Arlo Pro 2 cameras they lasted a life time. Fortunately, I had easy outlets on the outside of my house that I was able to plug these cameras in. Video quality is really much, much better than previous cameras. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the poor batterly life.

After reading many reviews of wireless systems I decided to give the Arlo Pro 2 a shot. The picture quality is pretty good. Set up was really easy and camera installation was quick. Installed two cameras on the Fourth of July and a month later they have over 50% battery life remaining. Not a highly active are. I installed the other two cameras two days later in areas that trigger more often. One camera needed to be charged after a week because and the other a week later. I don’t pay for the extra storage plan either. Overall extremely satisfied with the Arlo Pro 2 and would recommend if you’re looking for a wireless system.

I have looked for something to monitor my home for a while. To be honest I would prefer a different system, but they require wiring to each camera. Yes I’m being lazy (work in IT and have pulled too many cables myself). I liked the idea of being wireless, but it comes with some limitations. The batteries last about 2 months roughly depending on your setup and activity. Some have lasted a little longer, so that part is pretty good. I bought two spare batteries and charger. This helps speed up the process vs bringing them in, charging them, then putting them back up. When using the “wireless” or without power cord it has limitations. You can’t use the feature of focusing on movement in part of the viewing area only or zoning. No continuous recording without power. You will need to realign the cameras when puttting them back (battery swap), which isn’t bad. Video quality is pretty good. You can set rules, say if the front door detects motion, it records the driveway at the same time and etc. I’m not a big fan of “cloud” based recording due to privacy. They do offer two USB slots for attaching a thumb drive or external drive. You can only view content from the USB drives by removing them from the base and using your computer. At least you have a backup if the Internet goes down and or is cut off. You can’t turn off the cloud based recording, unless you disconnect the Internet or block it. If you do this, then you defeat the ability to remote monitor/control cameras/settings. This probably sounds a little on the critical side, but all in all its not a bad system, just not my ideal setup.

I love the fact that it is so high quality and wireless. If you want to do motion detection the camera must be plugged in to continuously monitor changes. It is very easy to setup and use.

Clearly, this is the best overall package bar none!

Love what Arlo did with this product. It is vertually plug and play. Plug the base into your router, put the batteries in, sync and place the cameras, and your done. Not very complicated at all. No cloud fees, and reasonable video storage plans. Cameras are super clear day or night. Two way audio also functions well. Could be a little louder if camera is placed high up on a busy street. I am planning on purchasing the flood lights and door bell to intergrate into my system. Only pet peaves are that the camera mounts interfere if you are trying to use a unit with the AC cord, also the price is steep but but the value makes it worthwhile.

These cameras were a great addition to the house. They all around work well at all times. The only thing is the battery life is not as good as expected but we do have more traffic than some may due to city living. We bought the solar panels in addition and hoping they take care of the battery issues. Activity zones help a lot, though, you can only receive those with paid subscription $100/yr.

With the included 7 days free cloud recording, there is no monthly charges. Cameras provide good image quality and are battery powered. Cameras connects wireless to a base and allows them to be placed practically anywhere inside or outside of the house. You put a camera in the front of garage to track driveway. You can put one near the front to track visitors and package deliveries. Batteries are rechargeable and can last months depending on the on cycles. The video starts recording based on motion detection. Cameras operate at night using infrared lighting.

This is a good quality system that is easy to use. One reason that I chose ARLO is that there are no monthly fees required. You have a seven day history and watch or download with no fees. Also the camera is wireless. There may be better cameras available, but for a homeowner the camera is good quality, the system is easy to use and no fees. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

After using this system for about six weeks I'm still pleased, but I'm still adjusting system. This is my first attempt to install a home security camera system, iPhone app is easy enough and simple to use. Image quality of cameras are more than adequate, even night mode. Audio is too good. I live on a busy street and this thing picks up EVERYTHING (including sprinklers at nite). Motion sensors appear to work well (even picks up small varmints), however, delay in recording is an issue I haven't yet resolved. Camera placement is probably something that needs more trial & error since often recordings only picks up parting shots as people walk out of view. Just purchased the wired doorbell to see if that works better in my application. Haven't yet connected it. Scheduling feature overall is tricky, but works okay once you figure it out. Turning various combinations of cameras on and off at different times is not an intuitive exercise. Linking cameras to activate simultaneously is a neat feature. Battery life has been adversely affected by over active recording. I'm hoping scheduling and sensitivity adjustments will remedy that somewhat. I have not attempted to integrate this system with other security devices at this time. Will update review following doorbell installation.

I’m very pleased with the video and audio quality. The 7 days of storage is plenty for my needs. Set up was quick and easy. I did use my own screws for the mounts as the ones provided were sub par. I would like for the motion detection to pick up a little sooner. I’m going to try to adjust camera positioning to see if it improves but overall happy with the system.

Good quality picture and low maintenance but will occasionally need to charge camera batteries. Charging can present an inconvenience for outdoor use, especially, in difficult to reach areas. It would be best to have external power to camera for outdoor use in areas difficult to access.

Bought this system after a great deal from Best Buy. A friend of mine had the older Arlo system and he swore by it. I was very excited to pick up the system. Setup and installation was a breeze. I was up and running in about an hour. Video and audio quality is excellent. Battery life is quite excellent, to my surprise. Of course, it's dependent on how much activity is happening, The only downside is not being able to use the activity zone due to it running only on battery. Other than, I am extremely happy. Now I have more peace-of-mind of the security of my home.

I am very happy with this purchase. The battery life thus far (although it has only been about a month) is still maintaining over 80%. The installation was relatively easy. It does require additional screws and / or outdoor heavy weight adhesive to install, if you are not installing the product into drywall. Other than that, setting up the system was super easy. I have all 4 cameras outdoors. They are fairly sensitive though. One of them, constantly picks up shadows from blowing trees, etc. Overall, I would recommend this product if you are looking to quickly and effortlessly set up wireless cameras for added security around the house.

I’m eating 4 stars because of the battery life. When you turn off your notifications that send you movement and sound alerts in rooms with that camera it runs down your battery on the camera and your device you’re viewing the cameras from. When you turn the notifications off your camera is no longer recording. Definitely more positives to this camera! So far we love it.

This camera system is very easy to use and maintain. I would recommend this system over the Nest system due to the lower costs of DVR subscription services. The camera quality is great depending on your internet connection. It is also nice that you can add external storage to the hub to record locally instead of using the cloud. The Arlo hubs act as WiFi access points for the cameras, but are NOT WiFi access points. If the cameras are spanned out and not as close to the hub, you may need to add additional hubs; whereas with the Nest system, all cameras are connected to a WiFi access point.

Easy to set up and put around my house. Quality is good and the system works great. The motion needs to be tweaked and set up so it doesn’t go off with passing cars.
