I bought the black so it isn’t as noticeable as the white. Easy install, easy to connect to the hub and my WiFi. Clear, crisp display. A 3-5 second delay in the view. You can create zones for notifications and turn on/off detection for people, animals, vehicles, and/or regular motion. Don’t delay in buying the two-battery charger, you’ll need it faster than you think. Battery life states up to three months, but if you live in the suburbs expect no more than three weeks.

Very very easy to set up. I would give it five stars but you have to recharge the battery about every two weeks so that is the only pain that I have come across. (Unless you purchase some additional charging ports). Great video and great night time video. Can drive you crazy when you are sneaking to the refrigerator for a late night snack and have different security lights pop on, makes you think twice about going to the refrigerator and I am losing weight!

Great upgrade from older ARLO system

We have an older ARLO camera system that was purchased in approximately 2014. We needed another set of cameras for a lake house and decided the ease of set up with wireless ARLO was worth giving the newer versions a try. The ARLO Pro 3 is SO MUCH BETTER than our older ARLO. We've had the Pro 3 system in use for approximately 7 months and really like it. The app is very easy to use, the cameras do a good job of letting you know what set it off (animal, motion, or person). The Pro 3 motion sensor turns the cameras on much faster than the previous generation, thus doing a great job of capturing what is on our property. Picture clarity is great during the day, the night vision is in black and white and not nearly as crisp and clear. I'm not sure it would give a great picture of someone's face at night, but I can certainly tell the cats, raccoons, possums, and other animals that like to visit our dock with regularity. We have had zero problems with battery longevity. We have 3 cameras outside, and in the last 7 months, I have only needed to charge one of them. One just succumbed a day or two ago, but I think it's because of our record low temperatures over the last week. In fairness, these cameras are at a second home and don't see that much action. The dock camera gets the most use (anywhere from zero to 5 times a day or more) and needed to be charged after approximately 3 or 4 months. In summary, the Pro 3 is a huge upgrade from our older generation ARLO. They are much faster to turn on and record, the picture quality is improved, the addition of sound is wonderful, love that you charge the batteries instead of buying the expensive and hard to find CR123's that didn't last long, turning the cameras on manually from the app has been easy and without problems, the 2 way communication has been spotty. I tried to use it while my husband was on the dock. I could hear him, he couldn't hear me. I think perhaps the dock camera is too far away from the base. I haven't tried with the other 2 cameras. Also, we are experiencing record low temperatures in mid Missouri, well below zero and with the windchill around -20 or so. At this temperature, the dock camera said it was too cold to work. The cameras around the house are more insulated and did continue to work. If you live in an area that experiences very cold temperatures regularly, this may be a problem for you. I recommend the Pro 3. We are planning to update our main home system to a newer version of ARLO, either the Pro 3 or Pro 4. I need to research the Pro 4 to see the differences. I know I would be happy with the Pro 3's performance.

Great looks, sturdy in handling, awesome quality video, easy install, ability to watch live, record, sense motion (and be able to change threshold), user friendly app, free 7-day cloud storage and many other features. Do expect 3-5 seconds of lag since the processing and internet are not perfect yet. I hope that prices eventually come down - electronics and internet have come a long way and even though the demand for these cameras is still high, Arlo can improve the supply by lowering the price or offer promotions frequently atleast to previous owners of Arlo.

I purchased this because I did not want to deal with running cables throughout my two story house to get to where I wanted to place the cameras externally. The set was easy to set up, did automatic firmware updates as soon as I booted it up, and the cameras were easy to sync and put up. I did have to take 1 star away because there are times when I'm trying to look at a live feed from my phone or computer and the camera either shows offline (rarely) or there is a 10-15 delay just to bring up the live view; and when you're trying to see what's going right at that moment, it gets really frustrating. Once in live view, the delay between live and what you see on your device is only about 2 seconds. The picture is great in daylight, and good in low light. It helps that the cameras do have a built in light. The mic and speaker in the camera also are good. I can hear clearly what's being said in when in live view or viewing recordings, and people can hear me clearly when I'm talking through the device. To keep the best functionality with Arlo, you will need to buy in to their monthly subscription though. Wireless security cameras will be pricier than wired. Keep that in mind. It just depends on if you want to run cables or pay someone to run cables for you.

Great picture quality, easy to install, wireless wifi, two way audio, overall great investment if you are trying to keep your property monitored even while out of the country. The only down side is if you have heavy traffic flow where the camera is pointed it will die within a few days do to constant motion detection. I would recommend to also purchase the solar panel charger that best buys sells so you don't have to go up and down ladders to re-charge your Arlo camera.

It has a clear picture during the day and at night with the built in light for motion. Cameras are easy to use and mount. Make sure when setting them up you keep in mind the wireless WiFi connect, the farther away the lower the signal on it. If you plan on using all four batteries, buy extra batteries or use solar power to recharge your batteries. I also bought the quick battery docking station to help charge batteries faster. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Easy install and setup and flawless operation. In constant operation for 2 weeks, the batteries are at 93% capacity. The bundle comes with a 3-month subscription for on-line video storage. I can monitor my home from anywhere and the system sends me alerts to any motion within their 160-degree field of view. I recommend the purchase of extra batteries so that the cameras do not have to be removed from their mounts for charging.

easy to setup and compact. good quality picture.
I was able to plug in external usb drive to arlo base and store videos there.
Battery life is not as good. After 4 weeks of use with 6 events per day recording, the battery was down to 70%.
I also bought Eufy cam 2 at the same time, which was $100 cheaper.
The quality and detection between Arlo and Eufy is somewhat comparable.
The positive thing about Arlo is the notification will say it detects human, or animal. To get this feature, you will need the arlo subscription.
The cam mount is good, as I can swivel it to any angle, compared with the more limited angle from Eufy.
I wanted security cam so it can detect deer that tend to eat our garden.
I returned Arlo eventually, and kept Eufy as I didn't feel like paying Arlo monthly subscription, and needing to recharge every 3 months, where which requires me to bring out my tall and heavy ladder to.
If you don't mind the subscription fees and needing to recharge every 3 months, go for it.

I chose this Arlo for the wireless connectivity. I wanted to be able to place cameras closer to the street. I have cameras on my house but I needed a better view of cars or people in the street. We mounted them in trees in feont of our house, about 15 feet from the house and about 30 feet from the router. The picture is great. I have been having issues with the battery life though. I have had to change the sensitivity and what triggers it. It still only lasts about 5 days or so. I bought solar panels so we don't have to recharge the batteries so often.
I chose this model because it came with a hub. From what I have found, this enables me to connect a portable hard drive so I don't have to subscribe to the cloud service. I have a total of 5 Arlo cameras so using the cloud is prohibitively expensive.
The Arlo cameras were relatively easy to set up, definitely easier than the wired Lorex system that I have and the picture is so much better.

Well Built and Works Great

Bottom line: great video quality, great solid construction, and excellent cloud storage (you can download videos also) and application support. But no embedded date and time on video, and continued cloud storage features requires monthly fee.
These camera are solidly built and work well. The batteries last a fairly long time, but we have a lot of activity at our house so they don't last 3 months which is stated as the average. I would recommend a high-speed internet connection since videos are uploaded to Arlo's cloud storage. Phone app is very functional, and you can configure to receive alerts. Cameras are motion activated. One deficiency is that there is no option for putting date and time on the videos - some folks have had a problem using videos in court for that reason, and there is no consistent metadata in the file to help. Only the filename contains time data, and that can be renamed, so courts don't like that (this is what I've heard - no first hand experience with this). After a three month trial, continued cloud service requires a monthly fee, but being able to monitor cameras from anywhere on my smartphone is worth it to me.

How to review Arlo? There are great things and there are a few very negative things. The positive is that the camera view is very crisp and clear. The recording options are impressive. That it can recognize the difference from a person, animal and vehicle is great. Know that after the trial period it costs $10/mth for it, but it's worth it in my opinion. I upgraded from the original Arlo camera setup to the Arlo Pro 3. HUGE difference! I don't see the point of constantly upgrading when a new system comes out. But if you got the money, I guess go for it. I waited for awhile for a reason. I was hoping the Arlo negatives were corrected by now. They haven't. So here are the negatives. If you hear a noise outside and want to use the camera's to see what it is, this might not be the system for you. By the time you get a live view, if it was a possible intruder, it's inside now. The app is not too dependable. Sometimes you have to sign in twice, sometimes the cameras say offline when they're not (you have to close the app and reopen it) and sometimes you just can't view through a camera for almost a minute. So weigh the options and make your choice. This system isn't cheap, but I'm used to the Arlo ways so I'm still giving it 5 stars.

I love that they are very easy to install and picture is of high quality. Also have no problems with wifi. Cameras look beautiful.
Don't care much for monthly fee.
I highly dislike the fact that I have to click on each camera screens (one at the time) to see a live feed (that takes a while to upload). It doesn't make sense, should be able to see the live pictures right away. Also videos sometimes don't get recorded. Batteries don't last long, I had to charge them bi-monthly until I purchased solar panels. I will try another brand next time.

It takes several hours to charge each battery. With the 4 camera system, it will take over 24 hours to get them all installed. Then when charged, I barley got one day of use. This was after reducing the 2k video and motion sensor and turning off the spot light. I really have never gotten all 4 cameras charged at one time. I keep having to charge one and always one not functioning. It’s really unbelievable how long it takes to charge one battery in half as the other rundown.
Also a Arlo has changed the way they do their subscription, used to on the old cameras you could have one weeks worth of streaming videos to view from your app while you’re away now you have to subscribe to be able to have that functionality which is 120 or so a year. So after your 30 day trial you have to subscribe if you want to be able to record video and be able to see it while you’re on vacation this is not very good plan to have I will be returning these shortly within my 30 day.
If you’re going to buy these cameras installed them outside your house you’ll probably need to run power to each one to be able to functionally you your system otherwise you’ll be constantly charging your batteries or you could buy the extra batteries and chargers but still you’ll need to crawl up on your ladder and change to that often.
The video quality is very good the motion sensor works pretty good there is a long lag of 10 to 20 seconds between what you see on the screen it when it happened. The lag seems to be awful long lag compared to the ring cameras.

We got our Arlo Pro 3, a few weeks ago and love it. We have learned so many things about ourselves and our neighbors animals. Setting up the Arlo I realized I am annoying when I harp on my husband(changing that). Also, learned that our neighbors dog pees on our porch(had a neighborly chat). We also shut it down durning the day when we are home because it does slow down our internet a bit but not too much. We love it and it is really easy to set up and monitor. Thank you.
