As a long-time Arlo owner who had all of my previous 9 perfectly-performing cameras left being no longer supported as the result of Arlo's infamous (and nefarious??) End Of Life proclamation, I thought this would be a cost-effective way to upgrade to their newer cameras. Unfortunately, 5 of the 6 cameras suffered from constant crackling and echoing in the sound, especially when using the open mic function. Even the 6th camera had the problems, just to a lesser degree. I did all of the camera software updates and researched online before returning them to try to eliminate the problem but it appears that there's consensus online that there's no known cure for the crackling problem, it's just a sign of bad hardware. It makes me wonder if the cameras that are put into these super-inexpensive kits are part of a bad batch and known to have problems, or if I've just grown jaded against Arlo given their EOL shenanigans. Also, just so you're not surprised like I was, you should know that the security mounts that come with these cameras have a larger, specialized, squared-off bolt hole in the camera case's back, not the old 1/4" thread. If you decide to go through with this purchase, good luck, I hope you have better luck than I did!!
