First thing to know is these cameras have no local storage. You must have a subscription to Arlo for cloud storage of recorded clips. My favorite part about setting up these cameras was their ability to share the wifi information with each other. I didn’t have to enter it in for each individual camera which got me up and running with the system super quickly. The batteries took a long time to charge for the initial setup process and there are some caution notes about how much juice you can use to charge the batteries. They can also charge by plugging a usb cable into the whole camera so you don’t have to dismantle the camera to get the battery out. The battieries do come out of the housing with a push of a button on the external housing. The pack comes with three batteries, one for each camera, and a fourth standalone battery. So hopefully they don’t all run out of battery at the same time. Probably a good idea to swap them out intermittently so you don’t get stuck waiting for one to charge. Or buy additional batteries. Using the app is easy and you can access all the camera feeds from a single screen. There are different modes you can set like home/away to customize the behavior of the notifications and alerts. There is a calendar you can view to go back to specific days to check recorded cloud clips.

OMG, I have been a long time fan of Arlo, they are by far my favorite camera system. This model addresses the one issue I always wanted them to fix…..you no longer need a HUB for the cameras to work. You can connect these to your home wifi network! BOOM!!!! Thank you Arlo for making this happen. Lets start with unboxing… you will want to fully charge the batteries before you begin set up and installation. I also appreciate this version comes with extra batteries which I appreciate. Once the batteries are fully charged you are ready to begin set up and installation. Pro Tip, if this is your first Arlo system you will need the Arlo mobile app installed to your mobile device. Go Ahead and scan the QR code in the setup materials do get the version for your device. Create an account if you need to so you are ready to go once the batteries are fully charged. Installing the battery is super easy. Once you insert the batter to the camera the small blue light will begin blinking on the front. This means it is in pairing mode and ready to sync to your mobile app. Open the app and follow the instructions for adding a device. You will want to be in the area of your home where you plan to install the device so you can confirm the wifi signal is strong enough. Once you have one camera installed in the app and connected to your wifi you can go back and insert the battery to the second camera and follow the same steps to add it to your app as well. The cameras come with mounting hardware to install on your walls or roof for example. I have mine installed on roof line in the rear of our home as we have a corner lot that faces a road as well as one facing the driveway and front entrance so we can get notified of visitors or packages. Installation of the brackets was super easy. You can set up the cameras in the app to fine tune the settings to control alerts and activity zones etc. You can also connect these to Apple Home so you can control and see them from your AppleTv for example. If you are new to the wireless camera world or have used other brands, I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality easy to use system to install.

    A Complete Surveillance Setup

[PROS] Easy Setup: Once batteries are charged, the Arlo app makes the setup process a breeze. Getting started is just a matter of creating an account, providing Wi-Fi details, and verifying placement. Given that I was replacing existing devices, setup was done within 30 minutes for all 3 cameras. Bundled Convenience: I've used a number of security systems, but this package has to be my favorite. Arlo features not only removeable batteries, but we also have an extra one for good measure. What makes the package even greater is that it includes a station for dual charging. I was able to charge all the batteries to full within 3 hours. Now, they are all able to be swapped in less than 60 seconds when needed compared to my prior devices with internal batteries that required complete camera removal for charging. Responsive Detection: The mark of a great security system is how well it responds, and the Arlo Pro is superb in this area. Whether its vehicles, people, or pets, my phone was filled with notifications. Furthermore, none of the notifications were false alarms. Excellent Video Quality: I'm not surprised by the crispiness of the video quality. Its a 2K system, but its presents very clearly in live feed streaming and in recordings. Night time vision is decent, but its aided greatly when next to appropriate lighting. [CONS] Paywall: AI features are more enjoyable when they don't have to be paid for. The Arlo cameras detect very well, but some specific features are behind the subscription service that is also billed annually (no month to month option). I understand the need to support continual improvement of AI implementation, and you can't put a price on safety when the the product works as well as it does. [CONCLUSION] I'm beyond happy with the Arlo Pro Camera system. It works well, and its value is enhanced further by the inclusion of a charging system and an extra battery. It flags movements with great accuracy, and it also has a great battery life on the devices too. AI features will have to be paid for beyond the free trial, but Arlo makes a compelling case with how beneficial they are.

I own multiple generations of Arlo video cameras as well as several from the other big names out there. Arlo is simply the best of best. The ease of set up, the picture quality and app performance are all top notch. The 6th generation Arlo Pro is no different. Set up – The first difference from prior generations is there is no base. In terms of ease of set up, that is great. I am not sure if that is better or worse than the old Arlo Pro’s I have since they used a base and I think they use a proprietary network that is hard wired to my router. Regardless, I was able to set up, update and start using 3 cameras in less than 10 minutes. I did have the advantage of having the app already, but I did scan the QR code in the box to start set up. It really was a pleasure and there were zero issues. Performance and features– There is a definite improvement over the 2nd generation Arlo Pro’s I have. Arlo has always been good at picture quality but there is noticeable difference in color, brightness and low light performance. Another noticeable difference is there is a lot less latency between movement and picture (probably related to not having a base.) One of my complaints about some of the competition is the high latency of camera images was the event. and there are far more camera controls. You can set what viewing angle you want ( I found the 160 degree to be a bit too fishbowl for me, ) low light sensitivity, HDR and more. My older Arlo’s had little to none of that. All cams include a light that you turn on/off and adjust the brightness. The light will not light up a huge area but it is enough. If I had to guess, it is about twice as bright as a cell phone light. Value – A great price was never Arlo’s strong suit. They were always the most expensive but did back it up with great quality. When I saw what you get for the price now, I was shocked. 3 cams, 4 swappable batteries, a charger and mounts for half the price I would have paid for 6 years ago. It is fantastic deal and if you catch on a sale, you cannot go wrong. What I did not like – They removed the magnetic mount I love with other Arlo’s. It appears magnetic mounts are on the higher end models but not the Pro 2k. It is not a deal breaker by any means, but it will be missed. The mounts Arlo provided are very cheap and plastic. They will function but I will be looking for something a bit more robust in the aftermarket. Lastly, I had a slight issue with the charger. It would not recognize the battery and inconsistently charge . I unplugged the charger and took out the batteries and was able to get it working. It was not a one off, the same thing happened a few times. Odd but in the end I was able to charge the batteries. As with nearly all major video cam makers, there is a subscription option. However, Arlo’s cost is very high and is about 3 times the price it should be . There are some advantages to having the plan but core functionality will be fine for most people. The Arlo Pro 6th generation is a great product with a lot of value. There are noticeable differences between the 6th generation and older units. Arlo has, yet again, made a great product that I recommend completely. I cannot think of single competitor that offers this level of quality for the price. This would have been 5 stars if they left the magnetic mounts.

    Arlo 3 camera security bundle

The Arlo security camera bundle comes with a dual charging station, 3 cameras, 4 batteries, and the all-important yard sign. After completely charging the 4 batteries, you can charge 2 at a time. After charging and installing the application, you can begin installing the cameras. Each camera has a field of view of 160 degrees. There is no local storage, you can purchase a monthly/yearly subscription, and it will be stored there. To eliminate the need for swapping out the batteries to recharge, you can purchase solar panels to keep the batteries fully charged. Each battery should last up to 8 months before a recharge is required. This system is expandable, you can add as many cameras as needed, however bandwidth should be considered. You can stream up to 15 cameras on the application or 5 cameras on my.arlo.com. Each camera is equipped with 2K High Dynamic Range. This allows for better video resolution in both light and dark shadow areas. The playback can be zoomed digitally up to 12X. This system also allows users to set up activity zones to block out unwanted alerts, like my flag flowing in the wind or trees rustling in the breeze. The playback on my phone is crisp, and I can see faces even at the edges of the covered area. This 2025 release has all the right updates and upgrades you will need.

Installation was relatively easy although I’m used to installing this kind of security camera. What I liked the most about Arlo security camera system is their common smaller footprint in comparison to others. From the cameras to the DVR, they don’t take up too much space. A feature that I really like is fire detection which is a major concern here in southern Oregon during the summer. Another one is vehicle and person recognition which is very useful, so you don’t get unnecessary notifications. The whole system is very customizable. The fact that it is wireless is great. Running wires is probably one of the main reasons why people and even some small businesses won’t install such systems. Accepting dual charging options is excellent, and two of the cameras are now being fed by solar panels and I haven’t had any issues with them losing power even when there were almost three days without direct sunlight. I just wish it was 4K resolution, since that can be really useful in some situations. The upside is that 2K uses less power and that is something to be considered with wireless systems, especially if you don’t have a very reliable power source. But despite being “only” 2K, the image quality is excellent, even at night which is – or used to be – very rare. The cost is also very good for what it comes with. Finally, while I don’t like subscriptions, I found their prices affordable. And if you don’t want to go that route, there still is a lot you can do with it with no subscription needed.

In the box: • 3x Arlo Pro 6th generation camera (with adjustable wall mount and hardware) • 4x Arlo Pro 5505 mAh battery • 1x Dual charging station (includes AC power adapter) • 1x Arlo yard sign Setup: Arlo recommends that batteries be fully charged before setup. This took just under three hours using the included charging station. The Arlo app that I was previously using had to be updated to add the new cameras. Adding the new cameras to my list of Arlo devices was relatively straightforward once the app was updated. It did, however, assume that I needed to charge the batteries in the camera with the “supplied” USB cable. No USB cable was provided with the bundle and the fully charged batteries (using the charging station) were sufficient to enable the connection. One of the cameras required several attempts to acquire during the process. Arlo offers a subscription service for active monitoring. I have a subscription for passive monitoring that includes limited, off-site storage of video footage and did not opt-in to the active monitoring subscription (despite several prompts from the app that I do so). Design: The Pro 6th generation camera design is similar to that of my older Pro 3 cameras except that the new model 1) has a USB-C charging port rather than a proprietary USB-A charging cable with magnetic docking, and 2) is Wi-Fi enabled so that it does not require a base station for connectivity. The charging station is suitable for the new 5505 mAh batteries (provided in the bundle) and the older 4800 mAh batteries I use for my older Pro 3 cameras. While the capacity of the newer batteries is greater, the output voltage (3.89 Vdc) is nearly identical to the older batteries (3.85 Vdc). The field of view (160-degrees) and resolution (2K) for the Pro 6th generation camera is the same as for the older Pro 3. The biggest advantage of the Pro 6th generation (over the older Pro 3) is the ability to connect over Wi-Fi rather than requiring a base station. The new model also uses the more ubiquitous UCB-C option for in-camera battery charging. The design of the updated Arlo app is well thought out and a nice change from the previous version. This is particularly true for the ability to review all videos in a single list rather than only those on a single day. The inclusion of system status events to this log is also helpful. The only problem that I encountered was that schedules (and geofencing) cannot be applied to devices in Custom Mode. The app notes that this should be coming in a future release. The mounting brackets will not articulate to allow the camera to be aimed parallel to the mounting surface. This is not a problem when mounting below a horizontal surface or on a vertical surface but aims the camera slightly up when mounted on top of a horizontal surface. Operation: The Pro 6th generation cameras (connected via Wi-Fi) operate in the same way as the older Pro 3 cameras (connected via a base station). However, while they appear in the devices panel of the app, the newly added Pro 6th generation cameras do not appear on the app Dashboard along with the older Pro 3 cameras. This is only a minor inconvenience with the app. Overall: The Wi-Fi connectivity of the new Arlo Pro 6th generation cameras is a nice improvement over my older cameras. The app is much improved but still needs some tweaks. The adjustable short mount could be improved to allow the camera to be positioned at 90-degrees relative to the mount axis.

Great Package for DIY Home Security

The Arlo - Pro 3-Camera Wireless 2K Security Camera (6th Gen) is a great package for quality, easy to install-and-use home security. I got the 3-camera package that includes a battery-charging station, extra battery, and a high-quality sign for extra determent. I’ve used Arlo products before and found them to be good and reliable solutions for my needs. Now that I’m settling into our new home, it was time to upgrade our security and I ended up using Arlo once again. First of all, I’m impressed by how far the technology has advanced since last using one of these systems: Easier to install | more and better features included with the app | better quality video | color night-time video | and, especially, the greatly enhanced AI recognition and detection abilities. Adding a battery-charging station (and a yard-sign) makes the whole package feel well-thought-out. It gives me a greater sense of confidence knowing they’ve tried to look at this from the standpoint of what would be genuinely helpful. I like the battery-powered cameras, but some may prefer wired solutions. I believe Arlo has that option available. Beyond that, I have no other caveats other than to point out that you will need to continue with a paid subscription in order to get the full usefulness of the system. That, however, is standard with all of the systems I’ve looked into. A great package for do-it-yourself home security.

I have used a multitude of security cameras, doorbells, etc. from several manufactures. This is my first Arlo product and let me tell you - I'm impressed! Right away with the unboxing you can tell this is a well-built, premium product. The build quality, feel, and aesthetic are beyond excellent. Now, quality build doesn't always translate into quality function. Beleive me, I have used many devices that look and feel premium, but fall short in delivering that same experience in the core functionality. Arlo, however, delivers on all fronts. Setup is incredibly easy. Beginning with the initial battery charge. Batteries are held securely in the cameras, but remove easily enough for charging. The dual charging base allows for drop and go use. Batteries seem to charge relatively quickly and the indicator lights make it very easy to know when charging is complete. Installation is a breeze. Guided setup in their stellar app (more to come on that). The brackets are solid, non-intrusive, and hold the cameras securely. Really, one of the easiest setup processes I've experienced. The app is fantastic. Easy to navigate, quick notifications, customizable, quick and stable connection, and solid performance. You control literally everything from the app, and it is aesthetically pleasing. Hey, that matters to some of us. You can always conduct live viewing from the app, but for video storage you will need a subscription. It is a bit pricier than some other brands, but when you look at the whole package (camera quality, video quality, reliability, etc.) it is well worth it, in my opinion. Some of the other brands with cheaper subscription fees also have lower quality products. In my mind, when it comes to home security, cheaper isn't better. Arlo gives you 30 days to use all the paid features and determine the value for yourself. Image and video quality is stunningly clear. Crisp, clean images - even at night thanks to the 2k cameras and color night vision. I appreciate the wide field of view as well. This allows spacing of the cameras to be further apart, yet still capture large areas. Having 2-way audio is a nice touch and not always seen on security cameras. The audio is clear and easy to understand. The mics pick up well, even from higher mounting locations. The only caution I would say is - make sure you have good Wi-Fi range. You need to be mindful of this when deciding where to place the cameras. Setup and use is done via Wi-Fi, so if you place these in an area where signal is weak, you could potentially miss notifications and your use will be limited. I have nothing but praise for this set of Arlo cameras. I'm definitely considering them for further home products such as their doorbell and sensors. Easily 5/5 stars from me and one of the best products I've ever had the chance to use.

The Arlo Pro system has been an impressive upgrade to my old home security set up. It has replaced a system of cameras from multiple companies. The cameras work together and are nuch more funcrional than stand alone cameras. The installation was super easy, just mount the cameras, connect them to the app and it is ready to go. The video quality is excellent, with crisp detail during the day and surprisingly clear night time recording. I can easily zoom in on footage without everything turning into a pixelated mess and losing detail. The wireless design is a huge plus. Being able to put the cameras exactly where I need them without worrying about outlets or cables is a game changer. Moving the cameras depending on different situations is a game chnager. I love that you arent locked into one set up. The battery life has been excellent so far, and the dual charging capability gives me a lot of confidence that i won't be left unprotected. Having an wxtra battery ready makes the whole system feel effortless to maintain. The motion alerts are quick and accurate, and the customizable zones help filter out unnecessary interruptions. Overall, the Arlo is a dependable, high-quality security system that’s well worth the money. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home security.

The Arlo Pro 3 Cam Wireless 2K HDR camera system is just what I have been looking for when it comes to home security. I did not like the idea of having to run wires to a DVR or even having to hard wire power to cameras, so I have constantly put off getting a camera system installed. Well the Arlo system came at just the right time, and I was able to set it up in no time at all! My biggest concern was battery life but I am happy to say that these cameras have batteries that are built to last. Once I had the cameras mounted in the positions I wanted them, the setup was absolutely simple. The Arlo app is very easy to use and walks you through everything, there is a lot to be said about a tech product that can be configured so easily but still provide such excellent functionality! Once the cameras were connected to my Wi-FI I was up and running. The video quality is stunning, and I was very surprised that Arlo was able to provide such high quality video and maintain a decent battery life, very impressive! My favorite feature so far is the notification alerts, I never have to worry because I am alerted right away if someone is at my house. If you are looking for an amazing value, peace of mind, and simple setup then this Arlo Pro 3 Camera Security system will definitely check all the boxes for you.

I really enjoy using the Arlo pro 3 cam security camera set. The unit and cameras were easy to set up on my wifi and with each other. The Arlo app makes things easy with your phone. My wife and I have enjoyed being able to check on our pets when gone from the house. We also like being able to set the system up to alarm when we are not home to let us know if anything comes into our house while gone. The quality of the cameras are nothing to complain about. The instructions with this set also are easy to understand and help with the initial set up. This is a good way to help protect your property or let you check in on it while away. Overall I enjoy this product. My wife is happy with it as well. We would recommend this to friends and family. The build quality is nothing to really complain about. They seem to be able to handle the weather for the ones intended for outside use. The connection to the wifi is strong. I look forward to using these a long time. Hope they last for yearst to come.

I've been using this Arlo Pro 2K 3 Camera setup for over a week now, as part of my home monitoring solution. I'm also using it alongside some other Arlo gear I own, including their Pan & Tilt camera, and a wired 2K camera (the latter installed indoors). These Arlo outdoor battery powered cameras are as easy to install as any other Arlo product, with the obvious that you should make sure the batteries are fully charged before you install them (I charged the batteries over night, which required a full day before I could use (the included charging dock holds 2 not 3 batteries). Batteries are easy to install and remove, there's a quick release button on the camera and the batteries are proper packs and just slot in, and (pro tip) you pair the cameras before you put them back inside the housing. I got all my 3 cameras setup quickly, I did this inside before finding the right outside position. Outdoor cameras are always are balance of how far does your WiFi signal extend. These are dual band cameras (Yay! - which is an absolute blessing for 2K video streaming) After about a week of use, the cameras are doing very well, it's getting much colder here on the North East and battery life is still holding up nicely at 80%... it probably would be better, but it's new and a novelty, so I'm checking in on the cameras a few times a day and showing people at work how cool they are (haha). Video quality is excellent and you also get integration with Google Home and Alexa (no Homekit). There's a few things I do wish were included and I had with some older Arlo gear, one is an indoor basestation or chime... when I'm home I don't always have my phone glued to my side, so being able to get an audible alert would be great (or in older models, the base station also served as an alarm). Arlo's premium subscription can also get expensive, I tend to turn the subscription on/off... I work from home, so only setup the paid plan when we're on vacation so it's less of a headache for me. Arlo include a sign in the box, it's not backlit, I decided not to use it but if you want a visual deterrent, it's there. All round though, these cameras are well made, setup is a breeze, video quality is awesome, and if you want to use a well supported device that's not owned by Amazon or Google, Arlo is truly your best choice.
