    I was worried based on existing reviews, but the Arlo baby really was the only option that had all the features I wanted so I decided to roll the dice... Luckily, I have had no issues at all. Live streaming always works when called upon, the picture quality is great, and the alerts seem to function well. The light-up features and lullabies are a cute touch too. All in all, very happy with the purchase. Just hoping it stays issue free.

    I got my first Arlo Baby, setup was easy, it worked like a charm, I was happy. The interface is kludgy--latency, isn't stellar, you shouldn't have to use 4-5 clicks to disable it when not in use, for instance--but it worked great. Then the charging port just stopped working. Arlo support insisted that it was the cable, despite all evidence to the contrary, and wouldn't do anything until I tried another cable, which they spent a week shipping to me. What was I going to do? It was my baby monitor, and it worked fine for six months--I got another one as a backup. The second camera spontaneously drops wifi, intermittently greys out all settings in IOS, and will reset all alerts to "none" every single time the camera gets disabled. Support has been unresponsive at best, and I had to go on a Twitter DM rampage to get any kind of response from Netgear. This product is absolute trash. Whoever released the new app should be run over by something large, and the entire engineering team for this product needs to be locked in a room with the noise of a thousand screaming babies for two weeks and forced to stay awake.

    Arlo Baby Fed Up!!! Don’t buy this!!

    I’ve been researching baby monitors for weeks trying to decide which one would be best for our family. Our baby isn’t due until March 2019 but decided to pick up the Arlo Baby early since it was on sale from Best Buy. We have been testing it for the last week and been having nothing but problems!! After reading posts from Amazon and Arlo Community posts, I am now convinced that this product is not reliable. It has one job to do and it can’t seem to do that. Here’s just a few of the issues we’ve been experiencing. It constantly freezes up with the sound still streaming but video feed will be frozen. When we use the two way talk feature it will freeze up the system and fail and require a reboot.. The image sometimes will be pixelated and need to be restarted before it clears up, and just many other glitches and problems with unreliability. It simply is not reliable as a device to monitor something as important as our first born child. I could go on and on. After troubleshooting with no success, reading countless similar negative user reviews, I’m pulling the plug and returning this camera. I also should add that I’m using a Netgear Router dualband WNDR3400 N600, FiberOptic 25 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up, Apple iPhone Xs iOS12, iPad 6th gen iOS12, iPhone 8 iOS12. This device simply doesn’t work as advertised!

    Two big problems and a few disappointments

    First the deal breaker: this will not do its job without a constant internet connection. There is no option for just using the local Wi-Fi. This means that while you're sleeping any internet outage means you are no longer monitoring your child in the slightest. You will not receive notifications. If you just have the stream going it will stop. You will want to have redundant Internet connections in your home if you want to feel safe with this. My other big complaint is that while I can share this device with other family members so that everyone can have their own account and see the same device, baby crying notifications only show up on my phone and no one else who has the shared camera has ever gotten them. Unless you've got the camera stream going you will only get notifications if your baby starts thrashing around and triggers movement notifications. My minor gripes are that the ambient light is somewhat dim, the audio is kind of limited and most options have a very jarring hiccup when the audio track repeats, and it seems like the temperature sensor is wildly inaccurate (sometimes a variance of 8 degrees (F) in comparison with my ecobee sensor positioned less than a foot away). I already had and liked other Arlo cameras so this felt like a natural addition. I did like how any Android/iOS device could act as a monitor so we weren't limited to one or two that could just get lost and the picture quality is far better than most average baby monitors but these points pale in comparison to the problems.

    I bought this camera 34 days ago... when I came home the other day, it was offline and we were unable to get it to reconnect. I spent 3 hours working on it with multiple devices and it would not turn back on. I called Arlo support and the girl on the phone said our connection was bad and she couldn’t really assist me. When I called a second time from a different phone, same hung except I was told that there is no way the camera could be bad and it must be my network (but every other device on my network works). I was then told that they would call me back with further assistance. 3 days later, still no call back and no assistance. I am gonna say this, after reading some comments online, this camera randomly disconnecting is a rather common thing. A company who doesn’t stand behind their product is not. I will not but another netgear/arlo camera no matter how many features they pack into it or how cheap it is. Save your money and choose a different brand

    This is one of my most regrettable purchases. The camera is good quality, and has a good picture in low light and darkness. The problem is the latency in the feed. I've viewed the "Live" feed on a variety of devices, and the average seems to be a 5-10 second delay in the video. I know that's probably not the difference between life and death, but there's just something that doesn't feel right about knowing my baby could be crying or rolled over for 10 second before I know about it. Even though I've already purchased this, I'm considering going out and buying a different camera and use this for some other purpose. Again, the camera itself is nice, and the humidity/temp monitoring is nice, but for a baby monitor this is no good.

    Streaming feature stopped without warning or notification mid-nap (the second time I used it). Would have been a problem if it happened while I was asleep, because I wouldn’t have known the monitor stopped working if I weren't repeatedly checking live stream to see if she’d fallen asleep. Great when it works, but way too unreliable to depend on.

    I have had this monitor about 1 1/2 years and it's overall not bad. However, customer service at Arlo is TERRIBLE and when they do updates there is almost always an issue. This time they did an update and we're going to be without audio for more than a week. This is ridiculous for a baby monitor to have no audio. Buyer beware when choosing this item. You will most likely have issues. This isn't my first issue with Arlo.

    I was all in and bought this in hopes it would not only satisfy my wifes constant need to see the baby but also to start building my video smart home system. What did I learn Arlo sucks and I'm telling everyone not to buy them anymore. Their video service freezes constantly and their apps are unreliable.
