I purchased this to replace the one that came with my arlo pro 2, it was a older model base and noticed issues with it. I didnt want to buy a new complete system, and I noticed this was compatible with the arlo 2. This base solved all my problems and I didnt have to upgrade my complete system!

Easy to set up and and is small enough to set on a shelf! Did not know I had to purchase it until someone that helped set it up had asked me if I had one! I bought everything separately because I was not informed of any correct information while I was at the store!

It was pretty easy to setup, but needs to format drives as FAT32 or else it doesn’t recognize it.

Great hub for my Arlo essentials and my old Arlo cameras. I needed this hub to help integrate the Arlo essentials to my app without having them rely on their hubless option. I am grateful to get this when I was notified it was available through Best Buy.

This is the hub that works with 4K (ultra) cams, as well as 2K cams (pro 3) and has local storage if you don't want to pay for cloud storage. Great hub!

Bought this base for my 2nd home with Essential Arlo Cameras. These are to replace the wifi cameras. No issue with the setup. The bad thing is the video response and lighting. I compared side by side with the wifi camera and response is a lot better with the wifi camera. Both Arlo and Wifi Cam connects to the same 5G home Wifi. I have Arlo Essential Cameras on my primary home with an older hub/base and the video response is faster. I returned it the next day. this will not work for what I need.

Well it saves you the monthly fees per camera of $1.99 per camera- allows you to use a USB port on this so called “smart hub” to record all your footage to a external hard drive (thumb external hard drive or stick). Also, I believe may help allow you to make use of the home app if you are a Apple person. That is about all it does that I see but will pay for itself in monthly fees quick depending on how many cameras you have of course.

Warning: it says that it is compatible with the Arlo Essential Indoor Camera — this does NOT mean that it is compatible with the Arlo Essential Indoor Camera HD as I unfortunately discovered after the return period ended. I wish that was specified in the item listing bc I genuinely didn’t realize that this item is not compatible with actually a wide variety of the Arlo Essential Indoor Cameras. Double-check this info in Arlo’s website before you spend the money.
