WHEN THEY WORK, they were great. The video is not as sharp as I would have expected an 4K camera… the audio is outstanding. The hub stores more than enough video for my needs. The cameras constantly become unpaired from the hub. sometimes it’s almost impossible to get the hub to see the cameras again. I’m tempted to try a subscription from Arlo, if it would improve the performance of the system. It seems stupid to have to subscribe to that in order for the whole thing to work. I use solar panels on three of the cameras and plug the fourth into an outlet. If you get a couple, cloudy days, the solar cameras will go dead. Just saying. If it’s not too inconvenient to access the cameras, it’s easy to change the batteries, at least. Years ago, we had a FLIR system that worked a gazillion times better than this. However, the cameras on that bricked profoundly one by one. It worked better, though, until it suddenly did not. It took years for that to happen. I have not had this system six months, and I’m so annoyed with it I may throw it in the dumpster before lunch.

Video is good, took about a week to adjusting the settings so it doesn't pick-up motions you dont want. Have 3 cameras and rechargeable batteries are all about 70%. The only i won't give it 5 stars no matter what i do it still records cars driving by the house. I got it down that only cars with loud exhausts. Its a really install

In all these work pretty great. We switched from another brand after it kept having issues detecting activity. These do far better and are aboyt as good quality as you can get for a security camera system. However the range and motion detection still isnt the best. The Arlo pro 4 thst my friebds use detect everytjhing much further out with no issues. Thry actually complain they are too sensitive with adjusting which we were hoping for with these. Im not sure if something with higher quality image effects it but these definitely have issues detecting various things once you start reaching 15ft and further. Not amaays yhough which suggests maube a software uodate flild resolve and maybe increase detection capabilities.

Initially the battery charge didn't last long, but I adjusted the settings based on their troubleshooting. I went from a charge lasting 2-3 days to 2-3 weeks. The free subscription ran out and the bells & whistles disappeared as I expected and as they said they would. Since I didn't need them, I was fine. My complaint and the reason I regret getting it comes from the fact that it continues to downgrade. Most recently the batteries all lost their charges and now only charge to 20%. I'm back to having to replace batteries every other day. At six months in, I wonder if they'll even be usable through the next six. Another issue that's cropped up is that the camera signal quality goes up and down dramatically without anything being moved. The camera responce has been poor from the first day. My exterior lighting, which is activated by motion, activates about 3-4 seconds before the cameras. This results in the videos only capturing the tail end of any movement. The camera quality is good, but based on what's been happening, I wonder how long it will last. They were very easy to install. Set up was very easy. One of the cameras I installed where it's exposed to direct Florida sun and heavy rains. It still performs as well as the ones not exposed. That very much impressed me. I When speaking to someone, there's about a 7 second delay on both ends. It's made even the simplest conversation nearly impossible. It can be done though. The app is easy to navigate, but inconsistent and unreliable.

Good solid product but has its flaws. The Ultra 2 has the best video and sound by far then other models I own (i.e. pros, pros 2, and Pro 4s with the exception of my indoor Arlo Qs that have the same exceptional video and sound ). The Ultra 2's have much better night vision, much louder onboard speaker, and farther and loader onboard microphone. Major negative - in 4K mode, they must be placed within 20 yards (non-line of site) from the hub. They are not reliable if not. I wish Arlo would increase the signal output to be able to reach farther out. Battery life is ok but you will grow very tired of replacing batteries especially if you have to get a ladder out. Highly recommend a truly wireless / powerless system by purchasing the solar panels. My Ring cameras have their advantages and disadvantages as well. To get the perfect indoor and outdoor security video system, you need a combination of both Ring and Arlo. Much more convenient and easy to install than traditional wired cameras, however, when you local wifi or internet goes down, so does your cameras.

The setup was easy the picture is great but the battery that's suppose to last months last mere days by my front door. We get people walking by but days? Not even close to what's advertised. If I payed for the monthly 24/7 survalince I'd have to replace battery daily I'm sure. Good for a low traffic area I suppose but not for an active family like mine. Probably return and go with the cheaperhardwired model. Besides that the motion sensor light can't be turned off and it should have a timer available for the motion sensor mode but does not. Disappointed whith the software and battery life.

      Hi,

Thanks for sharing your review. We are sorry to hear you battery is not lasting as long as expected. One of the reasons is why your battery may be getting drained too quickly is due to the amount of notifications being received. If too many notifications are being received, please read the following article: https://kb.arlo.com/1178858.

I got these cameras to replace my SimpliSafe cameras, since Arlo can connect to 2.4 and 5ghz. So far so good. The cameras place inside the house have zero issues. Once the camera is outside, however, even if it’s less than 20ft away from the base station, has connection issues a lot. My only complaint. Picture quality is excellent though.

Better then my blink but for the price should be way better. I position all outdoor cameras in same area for Arlo and blink and huge difference in camera quality. Arlo hands down winner. Price wise rather get a guard dog. Cameras are not going to protect you lol. Bum speaker for talking too low. Night vision moderate at best. Spot Light good but annoying. Cant sit on my porch anymore annoying. Battery life awful unless you don’t actually want to see everything that passes or comes by your house. Busy street so unless you are in an area with a lot of sun not Upstate New York. (Solar power good way to go Buy extra batteries and hope you dont need a 28 inch ladder to climb up to change batteries every 2 days no exaggeration. If you cant plug in your in for unwanted excercise. Unless your camera’s are in arms reach. Also connection to app and cameras sucks had to buy super expensive Orbi mesh system. Might as well get cctv for the price. Bottom line poor investment. But if you are already stuck like me past buyers remorse then go for broke.

Upgraded from gen 2 Arlo 1080P camers and OMG the clarity is amazing. You also get options to set field of view up to 180 degrees, but youll get some fisheye. I am disappointed it doesnt come with a micro SD card considering the cost. You'll have to pay for Cloud recording service without one. The system was plug and play and works with the phone app immediately when connected and i was able to connect the older camera as well. There are some other features such as recording activity zones and the ability to only record animals or people or packages. You van also live stream in 4k, bit for only 2 cameras at a time. There is an auto track feature that zooms in on what you designate, but this also requires giving up 4k resolution. All in all, I've been happy with the hardware and app and haven't had any issues. Will consider the subsvription fee if the micro sd option doesnt work well.

Cameras are great. Easy set up and use. I’m glad you can move them as often as you need to Bc I did have an issue in the beginning placement where 2 would get triggered at the same time and often. Battery does not last long in this case. Overall I’m satisfied with the Arlo Ultra 4K cameras.

Good System with Some Positives and Some Negatives

Bought a few of these bundles from Best Buy to install a whole-house video security/surveillance system. Positives: Wireless Cameras, 4k Video (decent quality), Security/Anti-Theft Mounts, Quick Charge Batteries, Nice design, and even comes with a bonus yard sign. Negatives: It would be better if the cameras could connect to wi-fi directly, rather than requiring an Arlo hub. The set-up is not seamless (some cameras struggled to connect to the hubs, despite multiple attempts). Once it's done, it works well. Without a doubt, the success of the entire system depends very heavily on the quality and speed of the wi-fi signal. If the cameras have a great signal, they work great. Keep that in mind when considering this system. Also, the requirement of a subscription after the free trial to enjoy all of the notification/video features is something that should be considered before purchasing. If you don't want to pay for a subscription, look elsewhere.
