Great Cameras

Stay away from Arlo! Terrible support!!

Support from Arlo is terrible!! They issued an update and fried one of my cameras and batteries. After calling and emailing for three weeks, they said they could offer a 30% discount due to the issue on their end. They said they would not even discount the battery. If I didn’t have 5 cameras, I would find another solution. I will not be buying anything from Arlo in the future.

Not what I asked for

They do work but there is no play back. And only 10 second clips. Playback feature is 14.99 a month PER CAMERA. A big waist of money for me. If you can afford the monthly charge the cameras will do a good job.

Works half the time...

Then about 4 days after you start paying a monthly subscription it became very "glitchy". It no longer records every time there's movement. Even if you're standing directly in front of the camera moving around, the motion sensors wont trigger. So it will only record activity about half of the time. The other half you can view anything on live feed but it just doesn't record. Of course all of the problems started happening right after the return period time was up. If you pay for a system that won't do what it's designed to do (record activity in front of the camera and set of the motion detector) then it's pretty worthless.

The motion sensors could be quicker to pick up and app is a little glitchy at times. Overall it’s not a bad buy but, it’s not really a great buy either.

At no time can I clearly identify people or vehicles. Like what many have said, the alerts are slow to respond (1 minute). This may be okay, but I'm still debating whether or not to keep these cameras. Rarely do I ever return anything, but I returned the Arlo Pro 4's, and now probably the Arlo Ultra 2's. I will relocate cameras closer to entry ways and see if that helps. My Swann cameras do a good job watching over my general property, so maybe setting up for up close shots will work better. But no, I don't feel great about these cameras. And don't forget, you have to have the monthly subscription to have a useable system.

I wanted to try them out and dont remember the reasoning but maybe the bundle. Was easy to set up and tech support is top if need them. Do need a 9.99 subscription to get notifcations and a month of all motion they catch. Prob that was for all brands.

Not service oriented

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The most frustrating experience...I have had Arlo less than 1 year and my base hub stopped working and arlo support is blaming the internet provider even though NOTHING has changed from the internet provider's side. I communciated this to Arlo and all they can tell me is to try restting my system and go back to my internet provider. In essence it my instructions are being cut and pasted over and over again by whoever is working on my ticket. Arlo support only helps via an inbox feature and it is endless and takes 24-48 hours for a response. At this rate, It will take about a month to get my issue resolved (i am on two weeks now). I wanted high end so I went with Arlo but should have gone with a more service oriented company. Not a happy customer. Arlo is correct with their hashtag, I wish I had avoided uncertainty and gone and gone a different direction. I will update if any changes but so far, this is my experience. I paid just $934 dollars for my system

Worst purchase I have ever made.

Cameras went off-line within 48 hours of installation. Base station would not format SD card. Most egregious: the company has NO interest in customer support. Impossible for me to find a way to speak with Customer Support. Packaging says live support is available within 90 days of purchase (I was within 2 weeks), but I could find no way to actually speak to tech support. I am returning this package asap. Spend $700 and have no customer support? I have no confidence in Arlo.
