Excellent system. I can check in my house from overseas anytime. These cameras are awesome. The light in on each individual camera is a plus. It actually lights up a a pretty good coverage of the area the cam is at. I would recommend these cameras I’m about to get a couple of add in cams for total of 5 cams

Base station seems to only be a dedicated router only for the Arlo cameras. No on-site memory- I would have paid extra for that but any storage of video is in subscription paid cloud only. So without the subscription you just get notifications that someone entered a zone but no storage to see what happened. Just know that before you purchase.

Very good. Nice and clear. it hooks up to Alexa also which is nice so I can view it on TV monitors. Their service people are pretty good able to walk you through any trouble shade shooting that needs to happen.

I love the Arlo camera systems! I upgraded from the original Arlo Pro... Excellent quality, durable, and great picture in streaming 4K. Giving the bundle 4 stars only because of the requirement to pay for Arlo Secure service (monthly) in order to *record* video...this is not entirely clear at purchase.

I purchased these to upgrade my very old Arlo Pro 2 system. I was disappointed immediately with the quality of the plastic mounts and the clunkiness of the “security” screws on the base as well as the same key needed to replace the batteries in the cameras. In addition to the cheap plastic mounts I was unable to position the cameras in the same way as my old system and had to make new holes in my house to mount them. This made the camera angle better but still not ideal. What made me box these up and return them was the camera on the front of my house was unable to connect to the base station only 60ft away.

The "4K" quality is not true in any way the recordings are done. You can stick a MicroSD card in there and the quality is still not good enough. Can't pick up details at a distance which brings up the question of why have it in the first place. The setup process is terrible. Two of the cameras had trouble syncing to the base when I placed them next to the base itself. When inserting the MicroSD card into the base, I get a message saying I need to format the card. I follow the instructions to format it from the app itself and the button to do it disabled. Battery life is terrible and should be expected since you can see how small they are and see the "4K" video from it. Don't place them somewhere where you are not ok with shutting down the camera to change/charge the battery and don't have the patience with it not re-syncing to the base. Tangentially, I bought a solar panel to avoid this and have stopped working just a year later. The range needed between the base and the cameras is abysmal. The shortest distance between one connection is like 20 feet with a single wall to the outside of the house and I get only 2 bars out of 3, whatever that means. This meant have to get another base where one MicroSD card worked and the other didn't like I mentioned previously. Worst of all, the actually important features that you want to have to protect yourself and anyone else living with you is behind a subscription service. Let me explain what I wanted: I set up the camera to look at the grass in the front yard exclusively where no human beings should be there between Midnight and 5 AM. I know that there are apps approved from Apple that allow for notifications that disregard the Do Not Disturb mode of your phone and still blare out a noise push notification. I wanted to have that happen in that situation so that I can personally check the feed and then make the judgment call to use the Camera's siren or call the police, but they instead want to charge $9.99/mo and the option is to automatically call the police for some reason. Plus some other stuff like storing the videos in the cloud, but they got in trouble before about how that is done so you can look up yourself since I'm tired of writing about this terrible system. Don't know of any good alternative since I am not in a position to spend more money on some other system, but I would guess that a Eufy system is better since you can more camera per dollar, some have built-in solar panels for battery, and let you use an actual hard drive so that you can actually record more.

I can honestly say it's a pretty darn setup packaged for a camera. If you're just starting your Arlo system, I'd go with the package as it makes setup a lot easier. Plus, frankly, it's a cheaper route to go. When it comes to the cameras though, I knocked them simply because of the distance required for detection. The cameras typically sit in a low power state to reserve battery (smart, honestly), but they only detect out to 25 feet and then the camera starts recording seconds later due to booting up. Works for the most part, but sometimes, if something moves fast, you'll miss what you're trying to record. If they can find a better balance with the detection and battery settings I'm fully on board. Almost there Arlo!

Consistently disconnects. The Cameras responses can be slow when trying to view live. (yes, everything is installed correctly. And I have High Speed Optic Fiber WiFi, that provides the security system with more than enough speeed.) If you also want to set it up with HomeKit you will more than likely have problems. May need a token reset, or spend your afternoon trying to get technical support. Also some videos appear to be glitched with a green screen before showing the recording. Which is vital as something can happen within that period of the screen being green. Again, when you want to view live incase of an emergency you would have a significant amount of lag before being allowed to viewed. I also get notifications of being signed in another account, logging me out. Had this for over a year and I’ll suggest getting a hardwired security system or try another brand other than Arlo. Poor app interface, poor customer Service, poor quality products.

Local recording with hub not what one would expect

This package is a waste of money. Batteries do not last and wiring accessories are overpriced. Local recording from hub doesn't work with motion detect events nor accessible from the Arlo app. Once the free subscription is cancelled (I did to test) or ends the cameras become glorified motion detectors without recorded video. The base subscription doesn't playback 4K video. The more expensive subscription is needed to use the 4K. Either pay the premium monthly, return for 2K Pro cameras & the base subscription (and have your recordings vulnerable on the cloud), or return the Arlo cameras as I did. Only reason for 2 stars is because Best Buy's excellent customer service as usual during my purchase and return.

I loved this bundle when I purchased it because it was such a great deal. The way these cameras are mounted to the wall and ceilings feel so much more secure than the other magnetic options on my previous cameras. The 4K it’s definitely worth the extra money in my opinion.
