Let me just say this is a game I usually don't get. I like single 1 player games and generally never go online to play with other. Maybe locally with someone in my place but not random people. This game changes everything about that. Playing with others is the way to go!
That's where the meat of the game is, this is where you'll be spending most of your time, this is where the fun will be at.
The lobby that pits you against others is not intimidating at all. You can be sure if you have kids at home that will use this game when you can't monitor them will be just fine since there's no audio or interaction with the personal user. You get assigned to a match and you fight till there's a winner and you go back to the lobby to be assigned another. Very easy and simple. I've had no issues with disconnections.
The fighters are all unique and full of personality. There's many combinations of arms to switch and use that it will never get dull because the strategy will always differ pending on what you choose and what your opponent chooses. The weight of the arms/character also changes the strategy. Light characters are fast and nimble, while heavery ones are slow and more powerful. It'll be fun to mix and match when you get a handle and comfortable with the game mechanics.
There's 1 on 1's, tag team battles, all for one's, basketball, volleyball and many more. So it's always switching it up to keep it fresh. This game is enjoyed by gamers like me and casuals like my girlfriend who is just a casual. If you are on the fence with this game. Try it first hand. It can be fun with people you know to play as a perfect party game with the joycon and the motion controls. I can't wait to see what Nintendo does with this game in the future because it can definitely be improved only for the better!

Try and get it on sale or bundle it. Besides that, fun game for the kids. I didn't realize there were other game modes besides straight punching the opponents. Like punching a volleyball and target practice.

I bought this game specifically with my 9 yr old daughter in mind. She's not huge into video games, but I was hoping the motion controls would entice her. She wasn't super interested until we started, but she quickly grew to love it. She especially likes 2 player co-op where you both fight together at the same time. She doesn't lose and she doesn't have to feel like I'm letting her win. The motion controls make this game, so another set of Joy-Cons is a must for 2 player. Great game!

This was a really fun game to play for a short period of time. The game got repetitive though. Motion controls work fine, but I preferred to play with Pro controller.

This is a great party game to have. I would say picking an extra set of joy cons and playing your friends is the best way to have fun with this game.

My two boys play this game and love it. It gets a little crazy if they try to play in the car so we typically don't let them play it while we are driving. I haven't played it as much as they have but I would say the only downfall is that the controls are as sensitive and responsive as they need to be. Overall, this is a great fighting game. Each of the characters has their own special abilities and you can select their glove type as well which makes things interesting.

This game is an incredible party game. My daughter is loving it. The game uses motion controls for punching and moving around. Has great grapichs lots of game modes and diferrent control schemes to play the game. Up to four player locally. You can also play online. The volleyball mini game is super fun.

So after about 2 weeks this game has been a hit. This is an awesome party game and a much better buy if you have real people to play with. The single player content can be repeated but is very short. There are 30+ unlockables for the current roster of 11. Nintendo also is providing free DLC so expect regular new content and characters in the future. The game plays fine with a single joycon but is hard to aim at other fighters. Up to 4 real people can play at once but 2 player fights are the best since I would assume most normal families would have 4 joycon. Motion controls work as expected and give you full control on your punches. There's also a party mode that rotates through different game modes and is a good way to play. Online works surprisingly well but with no ways to communicate is feels like your play a better CPU. My youngest daughter (5yrs) and oldest at (16yrs) have logged a total of 40 hours in 2 weeks. Both have a good understanding of the mechanics but still struggle to beat daddy. Pretty good for a fighting game.

At first I wasn't sure what to think of ARMS, really just wanted a fighting game for the switch. What I didn't expect was how much fun it was going to be. When I showed off the switch to anybody, I showed them ARMS first. Once they played for a few rounds people got, and wanted to play more. The content is lacking a bit, but with free updates that include characters/ stages I can't complain. I love fighting games, and I'm glad I picked this up for the switch. It is a good first start to a new ip.

I had high hopes for this game. I was hoping it would be a quirky Splatoon-like game for the fighting genre, but I really couldn't get into it. There's nothing glaringly wrong with it, it just didn't really grab me. If there was any barrier to entry, I guess it would be the controls. I'm lukewarm on the motion controls, and I didn't adjust to the regular controls very quickly. Still, if you wanted to put in the work to git gud, I think there's some fun to be had here.

I hadn't been super impressed with the multiplayer games available for the Switch (except for Mario Kart) so this was a welcome surprise! Great for new gamers as they have walkthrough tutorials and very fun and creative. You can play it single player to practice but it's not nearly as fun as playing it with others. It works super well with the Switch controllers, too, meaning it actually utilizes their features.

At first, i seemed to me as a regular boxing game with a twist with longer arms. HOWEVER, I didn't know how two-player worked with one switch until i took it to school. I hand one Joy-Con to a friend and BOOM! Instant game changer. The game is W O K E ! My teacher even had to tell us to quiet down (it was mostly because there was a peep that taking a test). In conclusion, 9.5/10 (would buy).

Arms is a really fun party game that we ages 9-50 playing. My son like it the most (that's because he was the best at it after about 30 minutes). We just kept alternating because it is a lot of fun and 3 hours later the adults were worn out.

This game from Nintendo switch is a great game for the fighting genre of games that which Nintendo put out. I bought this game because it is a multiplayer game if you prefer too. You can choose from different fighters, and its really cool game once you learn the game's mechanics down to a tee. Overall alot of fun!!!
