    A Great Evolution Of Punch-Out

    It's amazing what you can accomplish with a relatively simple concept. This is the sort of game that reminds me of the good ol' days when games like Punch-Out and Base Wars were hits. The game on it's surface is deceptively simple, but as you get further along, it can be as complex as you want it to be. I do have to admit that there's a lot of room for expansion in terms of the characters, gloves, stages, and mythology involved, but the gameplay itself is pretty solid. Similarly to how Street Fighter 2 led to SF2 Turbo, I do feel like the game could benefit from having more control over movement and action speed, but there's definitely a great foundation for this game, and I'm hoping that future DLC will take it even further.

    I had high hopes for this game. I was hoping it would be a quirky Splatoon-like game for the fighting genre, but I really couldn't get into it. There's nothing glaringly wrong with it, it just didn't really grab me. If there was any barrier to entry, I guess it would be the controls. I'm lukewarm on the motion controls, and I didn't adjust to the regular controls very quickly. Still, if you wanted to put in the work to git gud, I think there's some fun to be had here.

    Fun game. It's pretty easy to pick up and play this game. The controls are easy to learn, the concept is new for a fighting game, and the game is accessible. Learning how to use the joy cons to actually box is a bit challenging, but fun game overall.
