I came in looking forward a moderately priced alternative to comcast's abysmal 2in1 modem and this piece of equipment filled the need. It was easy to setup and has had no problem keeping up with a house full of stream gaming enthusiasts.

Hooked up and I get the fast speeds (~50 Mbit/sec) that the cable company provides, however, the lights fail to display correctly. There's some error logs I need to look into, but honestly it might be an issue with the cable company--configuration and setup rather than modem. Since I'm getting the speeds I'm satisfied.

I first purchased this modem back in January of 2014 due to issues with my connection dropping. Also replaced my router. Still had dropping issues but they were less for awhile. After a few months I would lose connection as many as 20 times per day. Time Warner said it was a modem issues and Motorola said it was a Time Warner issue. Finally after many months and multiple visits, I got Time Warner to replace the lines coming to my house which were bad and get the signal to the modem in the right range required by Motorola. Still had issues. Found out there was a power supply problem with these modems around the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 that Motorola apparently knew about but were not telling anyone. Unfortunately by the time I found this out it was over a year since I purchased it so they will not replace it for free. I was really hesitant to buy another one of these but the Time Warner rep at Best Buy assured me this problem was fixed and this was the best modem I could buy for their internet. I've had this now for almost two months with no more dropped connections and more than enough speed.

As far as I can tell, this modem works very well. Setup was not a problem, a little slower than I expected, mainly due to waiting on the cable person. I had to call in and have them set it up, which seemed to take longer than I think was necessary, but that's just my opinion. Not counting the time waiting on hold, my guess is it took 10-15 minutes, which isn't bad, but I only gave them two numbers (I think) and getting it activated from that info shouldn't take that long. But maybe I'm being too critical. You would think they would have a webpage to set that up. My only complaint is that the lights on the front of these are incredibly bright, and there is no way to dim them. And the activity light just blinks on and off, regardless of traffic, which I think is annoying. I would like to either dim the lights, or shut all of them off except the power indicator light. Other than the lights, no complaints. It works the way it should, so far, and this is after about three weeks' use.

Very easy and quick set up. User friendly .We got tired of paying TWC for their modem. This modem far surpasses many other higher model numbers. This has been running solid for almost two months with absolutely no issues. The cable company modem gave us issues and we were told it was never the modem. This is fast and able to handle all we've thrown at it so far...plus we now save $ from not paying the cable company.

The modem has been a good DOCSIS3 upgrade for the old standalone Motorola cable modem I had for Comcast service. Thus far it's been "set-up-and-forget-it." My only minor gripe is not with the modem itself, but with Comcast setup. Going through the online xfinity setup, Comcast could not determine the make/model of the modem. Being concerned about the "generic modem" description it was showing, I chose to call to activate rather than utilize the online system. The tech I spoke with said it was a good thing I did--without elaborating on what might have happened had I not called in. After ~30min with Comcast support--where the first tech added some info about the modem (MAC, make, model), then had to route that info to someone in another country to key into their system, only to have that info routed back to the original tech to activate--the modem was up and operational. It's been stable for a month or so with good speed. The only other consideration is the status lights, they are very bright--working great as a night light in our laundry room. As with my original Motorola modem, I like being able to purchase the modem and not pay a monthly rental fee to Comcast. Side note, if you have an old cable modem and start to see your Comcast speeds drop, it might finally be time to upgrade to a new DOCSIS3 modem. My old modem was working fine, but my speed started getting slower and slower. Knowing it was old tech, I decided to proceed with the modem upgrade, to rule that out as a problem--which I found it to be. It wasn't until some time after my modem upgrade that I got a letter from Comcast advising me they'd improved my service, so my old modem would no longer work and I'd need a new one.

This modem was very easy to install and once it was registered with my provider got right online. I saw an immediate increase in speed and reduced latency. I would recommend this product and you don't need complex IT skills to install.

I bought this cable modem to replace the one we were renting from the cable company. We were having constant speed issues which the cable company said was not a problem on their end. After talking to a Best Buy associate he recommended this cable modem and said if it did not fix the problem just return for a refund. I figured what have I got to lose. I have been using the modem for a couple of months now and am very pleased. It fixed the speed issues as well as a problem we had of getting kicked off line a couple of times a week. We stream a lot of movies off line from Amazon and had to wait for the movies to buffer a lot. We have not had to wait for a movie to buffer since. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you are having speed issues or just would rather own than rent.

I'm not a techie so a modem is a modem is a modem. What made the difference for me was that it was easy to set up, has worked well and the price was reasonable. I haven't had any problems since set up. What more can you ask for.

I replaced my ISP supplied modem and router from Comcast with this new Motorola - SURFboard. It has been really solid and no reboots. Much faster than the ISP provider's unit.

This Router works with comcast/xfinity and it's great. Motorola electronics are amazing. This modem is stable and has not once dropped service. Get this if you want high speed.

This was easy to set up and the speeds were adequate for what we needed (streaming movies, network, wifi), but it doesn't come with a phone jack that is needed for our network system at home.

I've used the modem for about two months and it is very reliable. I've noticed that it recovers from outages (TWC doesn't acknowledge) very quickly. I also save $8 a month on my cable bill. It is paying for itself in both cases.

This modem has been working great. Good price and much better than renting one from the internet service provider. It pays for itself after 8 months. We never have disconnect problems or speed issues it holds up great so far.

I have Comcast for my internet provider, and the modem you rent from them is horrible. My new modem was super easy to set up and is twice as fast as comcasts modem.

Been using for the last couple months and it's been running like a champ. Easy setup and very fast. Getting more speed than I paid for from ISP. Price is a bit high but it'll pay for itself in time instead of renting.

Bought this modem to replace the zoom modem/router combo that I had. I paired this modem up with the Netgear Nighthawk wireless router. Everything works great and I was able to set it up on Comcast with no problems.

This Internet modem works great and is easy to set up. I have had no problems with it and it is very fast and reliable.

This modem is serving my Internet access since Comcast upgrade the signal. I have nice quality and speed and I'm completely satisfied with this modem. Good recommendation from a technician.

My old modem was 10 years old so I needed to replace it. This one works great and is very fast although I'm not sure how much of that has to do with the modem or my internet speed but you shouldn't have any issues.
