I researched modems and routers. Decided not to get a combined router and modem as others suggested. It's been installed for a couple of months now and no problems. Easy set-up. It does have bright blue lights, but it's in our office, so no problem there.

Using any service provider provided modem is a waste of money and resources. After switching to this, my down and upload speeds have been consistent, and I have the ability to have my own router and my own network which I can control privacy settings to my own liking and not have to worry bout others jumping or sharing my network

I've owned surfboards before, I've always liked them, thought they were fast and easy to use, and this one is no exception. Literally, I just plugged it in and connected it and it was ready to go, download speeds are way faster than what I'm paying for and it has been rock solid since I bought it. Great modem for the price and ease of use and set up

I've it for 2 years, and very happy with my purchase- it's excellent, High speed modem. You can create an account and control your users including WiFi and limitation. I use it at home both for wired internet (I've Xfinity) as well as wireless for my tablet & cell phone- the quality & speed amazing, and worth investment.

I purchased this modem to replace the one I was renting from my cable company. I have experienced significantly faster download speeds. It did require a call to my internet provider to get it working but it was a quick process. I would highly recommend this modem to save rental costs and to increase your internet speed.

This modem is all you need for most Internet users. I personally paired mine with the netgear nighthawk. With this combo my days of resetting the modern because I randomly lost connection and worrying about last is over. It is a tad over kill for my Internet speeds in my area, but it is better too much than not enough.

Easy to set up, and good speed. Much better than anything you are renting from Time Warner, Verizon, or any other company. If you plan on having service more than a year, BUY! Don't rent at $10-$12 per month.

Easy set up. Not bulky. Can handle faster speeds than any provider can offer. This modem will be ready for future internet providers upgrades in speed. Plan on this being the only modem you'll need for years to come.

It was easy to setup the only thing I wish it had was a reset button. Other than that works great.

This modem appeared on the Comcast-approved equipment roster. I had been renting one from Comcast for $10.00/month, but no more. All I had to do was call Comcast and provide them the serial number and the MAC number on the device. From that point forward, the modem worked great. In nine months the modem will pay for itself.
