I was skeptical going from a separate modem and router to a combo, but I'm glad I made the switch. My old combo didn't support Comcast's new speeds, so I needed to upgrade to realize the full benefits. My 5GHz wireless d/l speed went from about 100Mb/s to over 300Mb/s. Wired stayed the same, but probably because I have an outdated ethernet cable. As far as range, I live in a three story townhome. Router goes on the top floor and has no problem reaching the bottom (third) floor. Remember, internet signal is like an umbrella - it branches out and down. Overall, extremely happy with this deal of the day (99.99)! Also, make sure you rename your SSID and use the same passwords to match your old settings so your devices will reconnect seamlessly. Download and activate through the app, then get on your PC to set up your SSID/passwords. Don't forget to change the default admin password as well!

This item states it has two 1gb ports but once you read the back it states you only get 686mbps speeds. Stay away from this one. Returning and buying a nicer version.

In trying to get a grip on unnecessary expenses I decided to buy a modem & return $10/month one to WOW. The Arris got decent or better customer reviews so I bought. Before installing I looked further at tech reviews & found the warning against buying a product labeled “with Intel” - can’t remember what issue was but without opening returned Arris, bought Motorola.

When Comcast hooked up my service, some devices worked and some didn't. Comcast couldn't figure it out. I had a 3-way call with Comcast and Arris tech service reps. Arris guy figured it out. Something on Comcast's end wasn't sending the signal right. They are supposed to have an IPv4 and an IPv6, but the IPv4 wasn't working. Once the Arris guy confirmed it at a site called IPDV6-test.com, we finally got it resolved. Was very impressed with the competence of the Arris tech service guy!

I called Comcast to double-check this modem and model will work with Comcast. "Yes". Only concern is it new? They can't take a previous customer off that internet acct to activate modem without that user calling in and going through closing process. Buy New Only! Within 10 minutes it was going. Took rented modem into Comcast the next morning. They said call in (or Chat) to have the modem activated with specifics on the account. Did that through chat. It took 5 minutes and now on Xfinity acct can see the exact modem and you can do things with it through Xfinity.com. IT'S FASTER THAN THE RENTED MODEM I had from Xfinity! Update: It uses less 'data usage'!!!!!

Pros: I purchased this to connect to XFINITY via coaxial cable and then used it for 8 months. My plan was 25 Mbps and I used to get full internet speed during this period. I and my roommate together could connect up to 6 laptops and 4 mobile phones at a time to this router without any significant loss in internet speed on each individual devices. Cons: 1) I recently shifted to another apartment where AT&T provides internet using ONT port. Since , this router doesn’t have ONT port, this router is of no use to me today. 2) This router doesn’t have provision to change its MAC address. Hence if a hacker gets to know the MAC address, he can exploit this weakness in the router and launch cyber attacks or MAC Spoofing easily.

My 5 year old Netgear still worked great for me (used with Comcast/Xfinity) but my son moved in and is a gamer so... I needed more bandwidth and speed to accommodate both of us using multiple devices. I bought the Arris because of the 5G capability and upgraded my Internet service. Of course, we don't get the full advertised speeds but the Arris delivers plenty for us to share fully wireless with the modem set up in a different room. Considering he has always insisted on connecting via ethernet, that's all I could ask for. The directions weren't as clear as they could have been but since I have done my own previously, set up was pretty simple. I'm more than satisfied.

I bought this router/modem because I didn't want to have to rent one from Xfinity on a month-to-month basis and I knew this would save me money over the course of a year. This router was easy to set up and has been working well, even with online classes! The only small hiccup was that the setup instructions included a step that required connecting your computer to the router with an ethernet cord. The router doesn't come with an ethernet cord and my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, so I just skipped the ethernet cord and it worked fine! So, if you have Xfinity and are looking for a cheaper option than renting a router, this is a great option!

Great combo router/modem - up to 600mbps! Make sure your supplier is providing you a speed that warrants the puchase - no point paying for a 600mbps router if you're only paying for 100mbps. There are plenty cheaper options if that's all you need. On the other hand, if you're looking for a higher speed that you're paying for, make sure you're not getting capped out by this router which can only provide 600. Also make sure your ethernet cords (if cabled) support the speeds. Otherwise, no problems so far, had it about a month. Consistent, high speed performance!

I owned spectrum internet since part 3 years. When i purchased it, it was owned by time warner cable and then charter spectrum Took over. Since the transition, my internet speed dropped and recently it would leave the connection. I switched to this router and my internet speed increased noticeably! If you own a spectrum data line and are having issues with internet speed, try this router. I had to call spectrum support to get this device registered and it took about 5-10 mins to get it up and running

This provides excellent speed and is a solid purchase for an all-in-one modem and router bundle. If you have a large house, however, I'd recommend hooking a wifi mesh to it for the best possible speeds. If you do an in-home installation and your browser tells you it isn't compatible during installation (even though you've previously checked), call your cable internet provider and let them know. There should be a work around.

I was in the market for a new router/modem as the one I had was starting to go out. A friend of mine told me about ARRIS as they had one and raved about the speed and easy setup. After getting it setup the router/modem has been great and it hasn't skipped like my old one was. I'm happy with my purchase and will look to using ARRIS more in the future.

My prior modem stopped working after multiple power outages. Needed a modem with access to 2 ethernet connections which is what this modem provides. Works fine once we figured out which MAC address to use with my ISP. This modem lists 2 MAC address numbers. It would be beneficial if the manufacturer would highlight this issue in the included paperwork to create customer awareness so as to let he ISP know during installation.
