Customers highly value the SURFboard AC2350's ease of use, performance, and quick setup. Many appreciate its strong WiFi signal and wide range, finding it provides reliable internet access throughout their homes. Trouble setting up, but works great once set up.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I did was to connect the coaxial cable, the Ethernet cable from my computer and then plug in the AC plug. After that there was no more “easy breezy” setup. First I could not get my computer connected to the internet. The quick start guide states that connectivity would be automatic, but my internet access did not connect automatically. Troubleshooting did not help either. After running troubleshooter, I got the messages: Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration and the default gateway is not available. Instructions state to contact my service provider, if WebPages fail to open, to set up my internet service or activate my wireless gateway. I called Spectrum to speak with technical support. The technical support representative requested the MAC address of the ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router. He stated that all modem/routers must be inputted into the system in order to function within Spectrum’s network; otherwise people could add any modem/router to the network and gain illegal service. It took one hour and forty-five minutes of phone conversation to connect the ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router to the internet. There was a constant trial and error troubleshooting process that I had to endure to finally access the internet. From constantly rebooting my computer, to constantly unplugging the Ethernet cable and to opening up the Control Panel for analyzing my computer’s settings, I was on an excursion of troubleshooting. Once connected, I attempted to set up my wireless connections. I downloaded the Arris Surfboard Manager from Google Play and tried to use the app for Connecting to the wireless Gateway. I kept getting the error message: Connection to the Surfboard Device failed. Please try again by Forget network manually from device settings. Even trying to manually set up the wireless Gateway manually through the app did not work. Upon further reading, I noticed the app is not compatible with all devices. I connected each of my Wi-Fi devices manually by inputting the security key on each device. Once the ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router was up and working properly, I did not notice any buffering or slow connection speeds with any of my devices. It operates better than the free modem/router that Spectrum gave me with my subscription to their service.

Solid Device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a new cable modem, so when I had the opportunity to get this one I jumped on it. I used to have a WiFi router separate from the modem, and I like that they are now both combined into one device so I have less cables running behind the desk. Installation: Installation was easy. Comcast made it easy to switch to a new modem. The Instructions that came with the modem were clear and the setup using the Arris iOS app was easy. Once you have the Modem setup, you can then move onto the McAfee setup. You have to download a different app, which isn't ideal, but that setup was easy as well. Configuration: You can use the Arris iOS app for the basic configuration, or you can open your browser and get into some advanced settings. One downside to this configuration was that I couldn't find out how to enable the guest network as it wasn't an option in the app. I called support and they walked me through how to find it in the browser config screen. Once the guest network was enabled it then showed up in the iOS app. McAfee: The McAfee component of the router isn't very advanced, but there are some nice features. The Parental controls are basically time restrictions and web category filtering. The rest of the features are just keeping track of what devices are connected and you get notifications if a new device comes online. One negative is that the while the Arris app will use the name of your device (like your windows host name or your Phone name), the McAfee device will just identify what type of device it is (Apple or laptop), so then if you care, you need to re-identify all the devices in the McAfee app. It didn't take too long to line up the IP Addresses, but it was irritating. Performance: I tested my wireless performance before I switched to this modem and after. I found that I got on average 20Mbps faster than with my old setup in the same spot of the house. I have noticed on a couple of occasions that my WiFi will drop on some devices. I don't know the exact reason for this, but it did start after switching to this modem/router. Summary - I really like replacing two devices with one. The setup was simple and it's easy to configure. I give it 4 stars due to the 3 different methods you need to manage the device (Arris iOS app, McAfee iOS App and native web page), the dropping connections sometimes, and that the McAfee features aren't very comprehensive.

Super-fast Modem
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded my cable Internet speed to 300 mps. My old modem couldn't support this speed and my Best Buy associate recommended the Arris and other brands. I went with the Arris and have been very pleased with the performance. I haven't had to reboot this once since I installed it. Installation was fast and the unit was up and running quickly. I am consistently achieving 350+ mps speeds every time I perform a test. Without a doubt, this is the fastest modem I've ever had.

Good router, but I hate McAfee
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The modem itself is pretty nice. Setup is quick and easy. But it includes McAfee Secure Home software. I cannot stress enough that manufacturers can dramatically improve their product by refusing to include any McAfee garbage. Other than McAfee, this is an excellent GB modem. As always, I recommend using a separate router, although the Arris also functions as a low-end wireless router. Overall, it's a significant step up from most cable modems, but I cannot recommend any product that includes McAfee software.

Great all in one unit, good price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, my current setup with TWC/SPECTRUM/CHARTER comprises a dual setup of my own Arris SB6183 cable modem and Linksys EA9300. This is pretty rock steady and gets me my rated internet speeds be it via LAN or WIFI connection. I had to call my provider to verify that this unit would be compatible as it was not on their list of approved cable modems although the Arris SBG7580AC. The unit was approved and provisioned by their tech department. Setup is pretty straight forward and the connection was just as rock steady on both LAN and WIFI. No issues and was very nice to have an all in one unit taking up less space. I noticed no drops or weak areas in my house or front/rear yards. Three stars for the ease of setup and an additional two stars for being such a compact all in one unit that has great internal WiFi antennas.

Excellent Home Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was only getting about 40 Mbps on the provider's modem and was tired of paying $11/month. Went to buy a cheaper one as this one didn't come up as in stock. This one looked better, and was basically 1/2 price with some gift cards that were laying around. Setup was quite easy. The included instructions got me in, the rest is pretty self explanatory, especially with the provided hints for each setting. Lots of excellent features for the technically inclined, including DMZ address, port forwarding, port triggers, and parental controls. It's also faaast. I get full rated 150 Mbps with the 5G WiFi. Definitely recommended.

Saves money on rental! Works better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like most people look at new modems due to the overpriced modem rentals through our cable provider. Some say 13$ a month isn’t bad. But that is too high on top of the internet bill. So I finally said enough is enough. And I decided to go with this Arris surfboard 3.0 modem/WiFi combo. And thank go I did. I had an older WiFi router that was showing its age. So this all in one was perfect for me. I didn’t expect this to really compete on the WiFi side. But this modem / WiFi router is fast and stable. Which is the whole reason for upgrading. I have 300 megabits per. And I sometimes get up to 15 more. I’ve heard this before. But didn’t believe it. Strong and stable is all I can say. Mimo helps a lot. Gigabit Ethernet for wired devices is great as well. I’m more than happy to have gone the route of ditching the rental price. Only minor downside is the lights are super bright. But it’s normal and stays in the living room. Good luck! U all will love this.

Great modem router combo for everyday use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Arris unit is a combination of a modem, router and access point. It comes with an optional McAfee Security Home Internet, which I didn't want to opt in. This is valid for three years. This is a solid device with excellent download speeds. I got consistent speeds all across my apartment. Before you setup, make sure you call your ISP to update the MAC address of this modem on their end. You can set this up using the app or via the traditional browser route. The router also has the WPS pairing option and the guest network access. It handled all my devices (8+) without any issue. In fact I did see an increase in the connection speed. The look and feel of the device is also unique and sleek. Overall, I would definitely recommended this as a replacement of old modem or router or even as a way to combine the two in one.

Great modem/router.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router, I was utilizing the ARRIS SB6141 modem. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about going with a modem/router setup like this ARRIS SURFboard model, as I have had connectivity issues with similar products in the past. To start, the setup is straightforward for anyone to do. After getting the SURFboard up and going, my internet was up and running in no time. So far, all of my devices are connected, and the wireless connections seems to be reliable. So far the only downside to a system like this is the price. Another big plus about using a modem/router setup like the SURFboard is the space you save. There's no need for a separate router, so for those that are trying to save some space around the house, look no further. I would definitely recommend the ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router to anyone.

Definitely different but not too much
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this to replace an older Cisco Modem. The installation was not easy. I needed to call Comcast Support (30min call) to set up the new modem. To mention here: I didn't have any real issue with my old Cisco but I decided to give it a try. Internet speed improved by almost 5% reaching 100% of the contract speed. Wifi range extended to cover all the area where Wifi is required. I don't need to use the range extender any more. Nice security features and advanced technology. Very fast booting and rebooting. On the down side: Power supply adapter is too big and not UPS Backup power friendly as it will take a lot of space when plugged. While compatible with Comcast, Comcast confirmed that supporting the Arris is limited (unlike Cisco) and that they appreciate the Cisco more on their network. If you are having serious issues with your Cisco, I believe this Arris is the way to go. When set up correctly, it can improve your internet surfing experience and provide an extra layer of security to your devices.

Excellent Modem/Router Combo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded from my internet providers DOCSIS 3.0 modem rental to this SURFboard Dual Band Wi-Fi Router. I was very pleased with many aspects of this router aside from the $10 a month I'm saving on my internet bill. First of all the range of coverage, completely covers my entire 1,200 sq ft apartment. Whereas the modem combo my internet provider was renting to me prior to this one had many dead spots. There isn't much to complain about at all. I haven't had any issues, at all since obtaining this product. I'm very pleased, and the setup was extremely easy and could be done by a "technology-challenged" individual as well.

It might be great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is a little larger than I expected, but a nice, discreet black. I was first intrigued by the built in WiFi and additional ethernet ports for wired accessories. It could replace my current router and multi-access point WiFi setup and eliminate the stand-alone ethernet switch being used to connect my television and gaming console. It unpacked nicely and had easy-to-follow directions to set it up. Easy to follow, but not necessarily successful. I had a signal, per the indicator lights on the front panel, and the connection seemed like it would be adequate even two floors down, but I've not been able to successfully get it working with my internet service provider. I'll stick with my current setup.

Super Speedy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last cable modem router was 4 years old..... I couldn't wait to get this installed to see if streaming movies would be better... the pseed is awesome. SUPER easy to install. I have internet with Spectrum, so I had to call them to add the MAC address. As soon as I did, it was up and running. I connect an ORBI system to this to extend the range and I didnt even have to change any of my other settings, my wifi was back up and running instantly. I have noticed streaming movies to be much better and more clear since installing this device. I am very happyu. I pay for 100mbps download and this handles it no problem.

Good upgrade for people running cable internet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to install and check out the ARRIS - SURFboard AC Dual-band Wi-Fi Router. I've had my original surfboard when it was made by Motorola. The updated version of the Surfboard now is has a built in Wi-Fi router which was an added benefit of going to the newer Surfboard. For those of you that are looking to switch to Cable for your internet and want to avoid a $5-$10 charge from your cable provider the ARRIS - SURFboard is a great option to go. It's very solid with good protection and fast speeds. Also having additional LAN ports for my Wi-Fi home automation peripherals is great, I didn't have to have a separate router.

Saves me $11 p/mo. in rental fees
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cable modem and router was easy to install. Just make sure U use the SSID and password on the label found on the bottom of the device. Got a notification on my mobile phone to verify who I am. Waited a few minutes for the new modem to be recognized and approved for use on the Comcast system. Then returned the rental. Did not experience any attitude. This product is a "no brainer" IMO.

No more monthly rental fee.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I easily set up this router out of the box with some help from my ISP. I did have some issues with them, which I will get to later. Once plugged in I ran this without the use of my router and realized that my speeds were higher than the Xfinity modem that I was renting. I also realized that the signal was better and reached further than my router and router extender. My modem/router is located in the upper left hand corner of my house and I've always had issues with signals in the lower right hand corner (kitchen). The surfboard gave me a good connection in the kitchen. I will do more research outside and in the yard once the weather clears, but I don't know that I will even need my router and extender anymore. If so I'll plug them back in and try to get a better signal. As with most people, it's always a battle trying to get the best coverage in your home. So far so good on rebooting, we've had some bad weather recently and the router fires back up after a power outage. No issues so far with that. The only issue I had was with my ISP. They had me on a "triple play" with cable, internet and phone, in order to lower the cost of my monthly bill, even though I never used the phone it was cheaper than the "double play". Since this modem doesn't have a phone jack, they gave me some grief about using it over their leased modem. I was still able to sway them to work with me, but just be aware as to what plan you are on before you buy this.
