Had for 3 months and constant issues. 5Ghz would drop constantly. After calling Aris, they decided it was defective and sent a new one since I registered the product and was under warranty. New one works fine.

If you are looking to purchase as opposed to lease from your internet company this is the product to buy. Cons are that there is only 1 USB port and networking USB items like hard drives was not optimal.

I have never before written a review for a product, but we had such a horrible experience with this device (and company!) that I felt compelled to warn others in hope that no one else finds themselves in the situation we are now in. We bought this Arris modem/router in August, but by October it started malfunctioning (the internet would go in and out and it became impossible to stream anything on our TV or even connect to the internet on our computers). We called the company almost a dozen times and spent up to an hour on the phone each time while they tried to fix the device. The router/modem would work for a couple of days, and then the same problems would return. We contacted our internet service provider, and a technician came out several times, each time reaffirming that the internet connection was fine, but that there was a problem with the device. This has gone on for months, and my husband has spent countless hours on the phone with Arris. Tonight we finally reached our wits’ end. When we called yet again, the technician we spoke with asked us to call our internet provider to reprovision our line (which we did) and told us that if the device still wasn’t working after that, they would replace it. Not surprising, the device still wasn’t working, but when we called back, they tried to continue running tests, and after we refused and asked for a supervisor, we were told that he will not replace the malfunctioning device – even though just a half hour before we were told they would. We tried to return the product to Best Buy (where we originally purchased it), but they said that they didn’t have an agreement with the manufacturer and it was too late for us to return it with them. So here we are, stuck with this defunct device we wasted nearly $200 on. If you are considering purchasing this device, I would highly recommend against it! This has been the biggest headache ever. The quality of the product is horrible, matched only by the awful customer service provided by Arris. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and go for something else!

    Arris software is terrible

Wouldn't connect to Arris site or xfinity so I could get it set up. We got connection after an hour on the phone with xfinity, but the Aris website wouldn't load so I could change the name of the network and the password. The machine itself worked, but the Arris software was terrible. I lost a day working on it. I finally switched to Motorola and that one worked flawlessly and had it set up in half an hour. Arris has lost my business and Best Buy has lost my trust for recommending this.

I gave it a 2 star only for the reason that it's not compatible with Optimum. I was looking forward to see the type of performance it had but unfortunately I never witnessed it.

Combination modem and wifi. Would of been nice to have. Took back and got a separate modem and wifi so if one went bad I would only have to repace one of them.

It gets the job done as a combo modem/router. However, if you want to get the most of what you pay for from your internet service provider, I recommend getting a separate modem and router.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with NETGEAR. They have been the routers of choice for me prior to this one and now I know why. Just about every day or two, I have to reset this router.

This is less than 2 years old. I unplugged this to reset it and it became a brick, wouldn't turn back on. The troubleshooter said to try another power cord, it has a unique plug. Should I purchase another cord just to "try" it? It's More importantly, my smart TV which frequently turned itself off and reset itself is now working perfectly since I replaced this Arris. Glad I hadn't replaced the TV yet!!

Very unimpressed with the performance. After a month I am still fighting with streaming freezing while using wireless connection despite the only being 3 feet between the modem and the Apple box. Wish I had kept the box and receipt. I works return it in a heatbeat and go to something else. I only have 4 items hooked into this so it's not like I have a lot of things banging away at it.

Only gave it 3 stars because I have not had a chance to hook it up. But the specifications show it to be a better one than the Netgear for the same price. This one has more channels.
