I had a Netgear C7000 for years, the machine I am on now was getting about 150Mbps via WiFi from about 35 feet away. The old router went into a continuous reset cycle.
So, new great well reviewed modem. I am on Comcast Xfinity with a 600Mbps plan. Setup is pretty easy, I hard wired a laptop to the modem, plugged it in, waited until is stopped updating, set the browser URL to 192.168.0.1 and followed the setup procedure. Comcast adopted the modem and I configured the WiFi names and passwords as they were before.
My laptop got 719Mbps and my Galaxy S10 got 571Mbps. 10 feet from the Surfboard. I switched to Wifi and the laptop still got 420Mbps. Moving to the dining room table, line of sight and about 20 feet away, I was down to 250Mbps on the phone and 190Mbps on the laptop. Moving to my office, which is about 35 feet away in an upstairs room, I am down to 1Mbps. I used to get around 150Mbps here with the Netgear box.
To put this in perspective, I used to work for Motorola on WiFi access points, in 2007 our APs would push 1Mbps through two concrete walls and a lab full of WiFi equipment and RF test chambers, more than 100 yards. This is a very weak WiFi performance. Maybe I just have a bad one.
So I can try adding extenders, or I can return and replace this. The extenders might still not work, so I guess I have to go back to Netgear.

This modem router combo is ok.
Pros:
Connects quickly.
Compatible with most providers.
Wired speeds are great.
Cons:
Wifi randomly switches on and off.
Wifi speeds aren't that great compared to a seperate router.
Overall I don't think this is worth it. You can get better for the money.

Absolute trash. We had our old modem for many years without issues. We had to upgrade to another modem per our internet provider's request, so we chose this one as it was rated well and approved through our provider. It is TRASH. This stupid thing cannot maintain a connection longer than 15 minutes. Don't even think about streaming with this guy... be prepared for your movie to cut out every 5-10 minutes. We've had it probably 6 months now and it's been the worst experience. So disappointed.

Pricey with no advantage to buying a lower cost brands. Terrible software. Asks the same questions everytime you log in. Everytime. Slow to reboot.

Have owned this device 8 months. Initially had some difficulty with signal strength on one device placed on exterior of house. Figure... hey, it's outside the house... expect it. But over the course of the past month, I have begun having more and more issues with devices connecting through the 2.4 GHz channel. Now having to reboot the device 2 to 3 times daily to get it to work. Shame. Replacing it tomorrow.

This product is not compatible with Spectrum as the box indicates. Hope Best Buy doesn't make me pay a restocking fee when I return tomorrow.
