Arris modem/router SBG8300
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using arris older router and it failed after 3 years of work. Replaced with Surfboard SBG8300, expensive but the outcome was what I expected, talked to Arris technical and they walked me through the setup, also used an App with all the data and it was straight forward - I would recommend this SBG8300 to anyone that needs straight forward Modem/router for Xfinity. Tried the quick solution from Xfinity and it was a nightmare and returned it in 1 day. I am using 200Mbps and showing a consistent 235Mbps

Cable Modem & WiFi Router for Xfinity
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no complaints about the modem/router. It is saving me $$$ so far, as I was paying $10 for an extra box. Now, everything is running from the one modem/router box. I am not a computer tech of any sorts, so the easier the better. I watched my son set it up. So far, so good. I just hope I get some kind of warning when it decides to no longer work.

Excellent router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent router with fast speeds. Easy hook-up and looks good. Wish router had more than 4 ports but with wifi it is not as important.

Good Cable Modem, but overpriced.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Forced to get a DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem by our 3-letter cable company, and there were no Netgear models available at my local store. This unit offers 2 signal bands, 2.4 & 5 GHz to balance signal strength versus speed. Set up was extremely easy on my end (just took 3 calls to the cable before got the new MAC Address loaded correctly). The unit does exactly what it's supposed to, and its signal strength is pretty good around the main floor of our house, but spotty in the basement below the unit. My main dislikes are 1) The price, 2) The "Guest" account is active by default, and 3) The app is clumsy, not nearly as well designed as the Netgear's app, and turning off the Guest account was not intuitive.

Arris is fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up. No problem connecting several technology items. I have a few other items from Arris, which, I have found, is a very reliable brand. This is my go-to brand for routers and modems.

No issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's pricey for sure, but so far it has been great with Xfinity. I ended up getting a price match for $50 lower about a week later, so I'll break even in just over a year. I have a 2 year contract with Xfinity, so I figured why not. It's as fast as advertised. I've got several bridges going into it's ethernet ports, and they're all humming at high speed. Having those was key to me as I like having a lot of things wired versus wireless. I've not delved into the sophisticated features, so I can't comment on them.

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was amazed at the difference this product had on my internet service. I have cox internet and as it is, it’s not always the best internet provider. Because there are no other options in the area, I’m left with no choice. However, I am happy to have this product because it completely changed my internet. Now I have better service and my internet doesn’t go out. It’s easy to use and easy to install. I would recommend this to anyone trying to get a 2 in one router/modem

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so pleased with my new modem/router. Easy to install and has worked perfectly since being installed. Work great with Xfinity internet. My sales person was very familiar with the best modem for my situation. I will definitely be visiting Best Buy in North Haven again and again.

Good until it isn’t
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product exactly one month ago. It was amazing at first because it would belt out Wi-Fi to further reaches of my townhown and had great signal strength. I was pulling in 1.4Gigs down and 50-70 up, but it is not consistent. The biggest issue happened today when it completely dropped speeds down 50-100 down or would entirely drop connection. I tried resetting, unplugging, having Comcast reset to no avail. While Xfinity’s modem isnt has strong and doesnt have the reach, at least it is relible. For the price paid in, this modem was not worth it

Great for Gigabyte Internet
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After extensive research, I chose this cable modem because I wanted to take full advantage of my Gigabit internet service. I am impressed with the speeds that I get both cabled and wireless. Just remember that your device (computer, phone, etc) will determine the actual speed that you receive. This is a great modem and it’s stable. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but works well and I’m not disappointed in my decision.

Solid performer for various ISP's
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arris SBG 8300 Cable Modem worked well with Cable One/Sparklight issues. It has both a 5 and 2.4 WiFi 6 connections with a 2,5 Gbps cable port and four 1 G ethernet ports. Stable operation and quick recovery in the unstable ISP environs with DOCSIS 3.1.
