Pretty fast modem.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was delayed, due to Comcast not taking the information correctly over the phone. Had to take the modem into the Xfinity store for correct setup. Very easy user setup once it was running online.

Arris Gig Modem Router
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding 3.1 Gig Modem/Router. Initially did not setup with COX. Called Arris was told to restore/reset to Factory Spec. After the RestoreReset to Factory Spec locked in great. Also had to upgrade to Gig Ethernet Card. Speeds are now in the ballpark of what COX promised for a Gig Modem/Router.

A Waste of Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After getting online through my ISP Using Arris G36 router/modem I thought all was well. I was wrong. I have a tiny two bedroom house. The modem was in the back bedroom. The TV in my room was fine. The living TV, approximately 8 ft from the bedroom was buffering. After being on the phone with "tech support" for 4 hours I finally got service in my living room. But this turned out to be spotty, at best. After another 3 hour session with people that spoke English as a 2nd language they decided it was my wifi provide and not their product. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Usefor2computers
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is working great. It replaced a separate modem and another wi-fi. I use it to view articles on Yahoo News - do not do streaming. I was expecting it to avoid screen lock during peak hours of the day. That did not happen.

Simply one of the best Router/modem combo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best modem/router combo. The connection is good and the speed is really good. We have a lot of devices, and everything is running with not problem. I paid more than the one I was looking for, but is the best! Recommended for Xfinity internet.

Not a simple user experience, but range is fine.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine but not intuitive. I set up using Ethernet cable connected directly. Wasn’t sure how to do it wirelessly. Used xfinity app to register the modem. That was the easy part. Then set up the Wi-Fi, renaming and setting passwords. I would not recommend to my mom or dad as it is too hard and the minimal documentation doesn’t suffice. Once up and running it is fine. I have a 6000 sq ft house. Set it in the center and have minimal issues with reach.

Great modem/wifi combo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wifi on this modem is great. The 2.4 ghz channel has great range. Having a single device instead 2 is great when you are trying to plug everything into a single power strip.

Good in one respect, lousy in a couple of others.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a different take on this modem/router and I am sorry to see that the quality of Arris has sunk this low. A pretty easy install and it does boost wifi down and up loads, however its range is very short, maybe 10 to 15 feet, plus it does not work with smart lights and plugs because the SSID name needs to be changed which can not happen because changing that plus password is not allowed or at least that was my case. Spent well over 2 hours with several Arris reps and none could solve the problem. I will say if you are not wanting to control smart devices through the router it is a pretty zippy router although pretty much confined to short distances. That probably could be solved with an extender. I would recommend it if you do not want to control other smart devices, if you want to do that I would think about it . I am sure it can be done if you are willing to spend many hours getting the job done.

OK but expensive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed to switch from DSL to cable (Xfinity) at short notice, and this was what was available. While it does work, for the price it could have more/better features. The good: * It's fast * It supports IPV6 * It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi and can do channel steering to 5GHz The bad: * It has no real-time bandwidth monitoring * The logging is basically useless (i.e. intermittently we get an unlocked channel but no indication of why) * It takes 5 minutes or more to reboot

Great for a house full of connected devices
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Old (> 5 years) modem/router combo couldn't handle speed needed for a full house of streaming/gaming. This thing works great!
