Bought this after returning a Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC3200 which had more features - but suffered severe reliability issues. After installing the ARRIS - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem and Dual Band WiFi Router, the issues I was having with the Cox Cable internet went away and speed appears equivalent if not superior. I'll give up the blue lights on each antenna and the USB ports on the Netgear any day for the reliability I have achieved using the ARRIS.

I bought this modem and wifi router from ARRIS because I upped my speed at home and needed an upgrade as well for modem/wifi router. It is so easy to install and it is beyond fast! I have WOW...I even asked WOW which brand to use and they said to buy ARRIS. I use my own instead of paying WOW for theirs. I got it on a great sale too!!! Highly recommend!

Arris is an amazing brand and I have noticed that since it receives the standard required updates from the provider, it lasts a long time. I upgraded from my prior one because even though it still worked after a hefty throw into the driveway by my ex-husband, I wanted to get the DOCIS 3.1 upgrade version. Totally worth it! I have my own modem and I don't have to pay my provider to "rent" there equipment! Saves money and superb item Totally worth every penny!

This Surfboard is quite easy to set up with both the app and the web based portal. I do appreciate that I can do bandwidth tests that tell me the speeds that the router is actually getting (to verify you are getting what you pay for). However, the Wifi speeds are normally only a 1/3 of what the wired ethernet speeds are-- so not sure if thats the router acting up or the wifi. Haven't dropped connections yet, and it seems to be moving along solid.. well worth the money and security knowing you are using the latest tech (DOCSIS3.1) You wont get speed much over 200MBPS unless you have the 3.1 for Xfinity btw.

Easy to setup and reliable. Just connected the coaxial cable and plugged it in and I had wireless internet. It does not drop signal and internet speed is as advertised.

This modem and router were so easy to setup. We use Xfinity Wi-Fi and I wanted to buy my own modem instead of renting one out. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am one year into this purchase, and I have had 0 issues so far.

I bought this cable modem after my breezeline modem quit working, since I work from home I can't go several days waiting for a replacement to be sent to me. It was easy to setup but note you will need to call your cable company and provide details about the modem so it will connect to their network. After I finally received my replacement from breezeline i decided to keep this modem as a backup in case I have need of it again. Note; The reason I didn't stick with this modem fulltime was because very few store bought modems will support landline phones and they are expensive.

Finding a modem / router combination, that was capable of working with Xfinity / Comcast and capable of reaching the maximum upload/ download speeds didn't leave us many options. After some research we decided to go with the ARRIS SURFBOARD. I am very happy with it. Setup was very easy. Speed tests are always on or close to max. Being able to utilize the 4 ethernet ports was very helpful. Now we own our modern router, lowering our monthly cable bill by approximately $20 a month. It pays for itself quickly and is capable of next generation wifi.

I was looking for a modem/router that would have me not looking for another one for at least 10 years. This can shell out high Wi-Fi speeds and has good range. It was quick and easy to install and get running. I have a 3 story townhouse, and I have great speeds in all 3 floors and rooms. Currently using Xfinity, so I am anticipating higher speeds in the coming years. I should be in a good position with this product. It might be a little overkill, but I just wanted to make sure I had no reason to be the issue on throttled speed

Product performs as expected and seems very reliable - I've only had it for a month. It was easy to set up with my internet provider remotely as I basically had nothing to do other than cabling it correctly and contacting the service provider who took care of the rest remotely. No problems whatsoever - use it for internet surfing from laptop and streaming to TV. Should the cable modem have a reasonable lifetime of use, I would change the rating to 5 stars.

I recently purchased the ARRIS SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem & Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router, and I'm quite pleased with its performance. The setup was straightforward, and the Wi-Fi range is impressive, covering my entire home without any dead spots. The modem also offers fast internet speeds, making it perfect for streaming and online gaming. Overall, a great upgrade for my home network.

This router/cable modem does a good job covering the areas of my house I need covered I did not need any range extenders. It seems to keep the signal OK. But occasionally reboots. I did not experience this with my previous modem that I rented but overall this one works well

Got this to use for Cox Gigablast and it delivers solid speeds through both ethernet and wifi. Range covers my two story home. I have had no disconnections and havent had to reset it yet. Its easy to set up. I like the surfboard app for managing the network. Definitely would recommend it.

Easy setup as an upgrade over the standard Xfinity/Comcast modem/router. Finding product availability via Best Buy website was swift and product reviews very helpful. Small footprint for flexible home placement.

Set up is snap! Didn’t take too long to finishing the process to bring it to work. It works flawlessly so far and didn’t have any problem with it. Although the price is high but it is worth every penny you invested. Dollar for dollar, you pay what you get! I am highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for easy set up and good performance.

Although it's high in cost, it's worth having if you need the Cable modem and router combo and, want DOCSIS 3.1 for better future-proofing and need the performance.

I have never “leased” a modem/router type of product from the phone company....this is my 3rd purchase in 12 years(1st one lasted me 5 years and 2nd one lasted me 7 years)...I only had to purchase a new one, since I increased a much higher internet speed and needed a new one. So far it’s been 4 weeks and it works great. To make is a simple plug and enjoy setup...purchase the product first from Best Buy, then take it to the phone company and they will “scan” the bar codes on the box and your set! You go home, plug it in and bam...our ready to use. My first modem cost me $150 and instead of leasing a modem from the phone company for $10 per month, you break even around 15 months...the 2nd unit cost me $200 and after 20 months you breakeven and this unit cost me $300...& if I keep it for 6 years...which is 72 months, then instead of spending $720($10 per month)....I only spent $300 plus tax...you can’t lose by buying it outright

I had been having problems with buffering while streaming, so decided to get my service upgraded. Unfortunately my existing modem was over 10 years old, and no longer supported by my internet provider Comcast (the old modem was still working but wouldn't support the higher speeds). My old modem was an ARRIS Surfboard and I have been very happy with it and experienced no problems over the years so I decided to get another Surfboard. Installation was fairly straightforward until I got to trying to activate it with Comcast. I followed all the instructions that came with the modem and the activation failed. I then tried the web activation which also failed. Then tried the ARRIS app - again failure. Next I went thru the Comcast support automated troubleshooting which also failed, followed by over an hour on the phone with a service rep still with the activation failing. I ended up scheduling a in-home service call for 4 days after the phone support - they didn't have an earlier date available. Just for the heck of it, I decided to try activating the mode through the ARRIS app once more. This time it worked flawlessly - go figure... This was month ago. It has been running great since then.

Overall, the ARRIS dual combo is very good. I'm getting much better speed than my pervious Net Gear dual combo, which was very bad. I am not a Tech guy, by any stretch of the imagination, but setting up was fairly simple. It took me about 20 minutes, but I would imagine a tech savvy person could've done in 10 minutes. I am happy with the purchase and product, it definitely provided my needs. The only complain is I keep losing internet connection, not sure if it's my provider or the modem itself, which is easily corrected by WIFI setting. I would still highly recommend this product for both modem and router needs.
