It is a replacement for an earlier model modem/router. It didn't take long to find and order the "surfboard." I chose next day pickup (Sunday) and picked it up that afternoon. All steps of the purchase were seamless. Beware that you must call Arris to register the unit. That was a surprise.

Lame Sparklight sent me a letter saying my modem needed to be upgraded after I purchased this modem. I called the representative to ensure my modem was perform properly. The Sparklight tech confirmed my modem was compatible, as the Best Buy sales rep confirmed for me in the store before I made the purchase.

No problem modem and wireless

Up and running in minutes

There was limited choices in-store but I have used Arris the past, so I knew that this would work just fine. It doesn’t have all the “new” bells and whistles you will tend to get with other products (like WiFi 6), but it is as easy as plugging in the Arris unit and letting the service provider know it is ready to be registered. Great connection so far.
