It has to be reset sometimes or the speed slows down. Netgear is a better product and I am going to get one to replace this modem. This product does not get the speeds that my older netgear gets but the WIFI is better with this unit.

Excellent Modem/Wifi 2.4/5g

As for it working... It works and does what it says it will do. It works with Cox. Unfortunately... Cox is the problem. They can't keep the internet working in our neighborhood. When it does work, I rarely get the advertised paid speed I am supposed to get. Caveat! Advertised speed is during non congested periods. Whenever that is! This unit is pricey.
