    I am not a Wi-Fi cable modem router expert or novice for that matter I had a Netgear router download 100mb I upgraded to 1000mb the Netgear is only capably of 600mb download. My cable has list on their website the ARRIS SBG8300 was among them.

    Got this because we needed the fastest speeds since we're both working from home. First modem-router worked well but we couldn't log into it to change the password! After talking to Arris support they said it was their problem and to exchange it. I did that with no hassles at Best Buy. Installed 2nd modem-router and have had no problems! Excellent customer service, excellent gear.
